I have no idea why this place has only 3.5 starts. We were seated promptly, and the food was great. The pizza was very thin and the crust was one I would actually eat. The salads were obviously not from a bag which was nice, and the rolls were freshly made. I had the cannelloni and it was perfect and not too big, the hubby had the baked ziti and was happy with it as well. This was our first visit to this restaurant, overall, was pretty disappointed. The service was good, our waiter was friendly and he was good about refilling drinks and clearing dishes. The food can be summed in one word, bland. Everything we ate was under seasoned and forgettable. The bread was homemade, but is advertised as "garlic bread". You couldn't even taste the garlic. As a family, we tried the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, the spaghetti and meat sauce, and the chicken damabianca. All were very bland. Pizza was very good! We got a small one to share as an appetizer and it was probably the best pay of the meal. We all got some variant of a pasta dish and thought the noodle was a bit over cooked but the sauces were tasty enough to make up for it. We ordered a tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. My wife and I stopped at Bella Vista in marble Falls the other day do you have a late lunch early dinner. There was a rumor that Bella Vista is going to open a Location in Lago Vista. I found two different addresses on my phone, One at 12th St. and the other at seventh Street. We stopped at the one at seventh Street and went in. It's a small place with only two white persons one girl and one Hispanic gentleman. When I ask the Hispanic waiter why there were two addresses on my phone, in his Best English he said that one closed this one open. I asked to talk to the manager to confirm that they were going to put a location in Lago Vista but he said it was a managers day off, so I asked to talk to the chef, but I could never understand where he was telling me the chef was. I finally asked to talk to whoever was doing the cooking how do you said oh no speak English. so I guess I have to get this straight Italian restaurant, no manager, no head chef, only one person a young girl that spoke decent English. my wife and I ordered the calamari, fettuccine with shrimp and scallops, two iced teas, and olive oil with garlic. we ordered the calamari because the calamari that the Longhorn steakhouse used to serve would melt in your mouth. When we got our calamari it was very thin little round pieces it was like trying to chew a rubber band. I told our waiter that we didn't want them because they were tough and he said what do you mean you don't want them, I said I don't want them they're tough take them back and I'm not paying for them. The fettuccine with shrimp and scallops was pretty good. so, there's an order of two fettuccine with scallops and shrimp, two iced teas, one order of olive oil and garlic our bill came to $65, which was way overpriced in my opinion. if they put a location and Lago vista I don't think anyone would be willing to pay that price. so, my overall rating would be about a four if that much. We will never go back to that Italian restaurant ever again. read more

My first impression of this restaurant was very low. First, there was a bug in my water glass. Now on to the appetizer; in all of my years, I've never eaten calamari that tasted so bad. It was dry, flavorless, and lacked any redeeming qualities. For my main course, I ordered the Bella Sera plate, and it was actually a nice meal. The pizza was also palatable. Had Mother's Day dinner here on our way through Marble Falls. The food was good but not great. I ate their Chicken Marsala with a side salad. The house dressing for the salad was a tomato basil based salad dressing. Tasted a bit like ketchup. I should have sent it back. The Chicken Marsala was good but couldn't really taste the Marsala wine part of the sauce. The chicken was tender and the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and tasty. So I came into this establishment on a Wednesday night. It was slow. Waitress was friendly enough to go over her favorite menu items. That was nice. Ordered an entree with a sauce change other than what the normal sauce was offered. She failed to mention when I ordered that there was a $2 upcharge for any sauce modifications. My $14.99 CHICKEN entree turned into a $16.99 entree which would have been a good price for steak or seafood but this was chicken. Wouldn't have changed my sauce if I had known. The owner didn't seem to care when I let him know about how unclear the pricing was. We have mixed feelings about this place: they serve a decent soup and salad for lunch, and it is a good value, but the dinner entrees are mediocre on a good day. The service is efficient, but sometimes borderline rude. The pizza tends to be greasy and soggy, and some of the other "Italian" entrees are definitely not authentic Italian recipes. We have lived in marble falls for about a year, and only recently tried Bella sera, I am so sorry we waited so long, it's become our new favorite restaurant in the area. Everything we've tried has been great, the service is consistently friendly, and fairly quick, and the food tastes fresh and authentic! Sorry, this review is long. If you want the highlights: Bad service, bad food, they burned my six year old, no apologies. Wow. My first ever one star review. Let me start by saying that this meal was a perfectly awful end to a perfectly lovely day, and that makes it all the worse. We take our kids out to Sweet Berry Farm every fall for the pumpkin patch, and a day of fun. We usually end our day with dinner at the Bluebonnet Cafe, but because they are closed after 1pm on Sundays we had to choose somewhere new. Enter Bella Sera. We arrive at 4:30 so I'm not surprised that the place seems empty. We sit and order drinks, and right away the waiter seems totally unthrilled to be there. We order, and as my hubby orders his Lasagna I add, "And I'd like to start with the calamari", maybe a little louder than normal because I'm hungry and grumpy at having my favorite appetizer forgotten about by the hubs. I order for the kids and then ask the waiter what he likes because the menu is huge, and I can't decide. I get the "Oh, it is all good." I try again by jokingly saying, "Come on, don't lie. What's your favorite?" Blank stare. Oh-kaaay. I end up with Chicken Picatta. As we wait for our meal I mention that it seems like our waiter wants to be here as much as I want a root canal. He brings me the ugliest, saddest excuse for a salad I've ever seen. Pile of bagged lettuce, one tomato slice, and a big squeeze of thick, bottled Caesar dressing on top. Next comes the entrees. No calamari. I ask where it is, and he says "You didn't order that." Seriously? Yes, I did. "Do you still want it?" Yes!!! The worst part of the entrees however, is not their lack-luster flavor, or the microwaved appearance of my chicken, or the weird Campbell's soup thickness of the sauce. It is the fact that they served my kids their food in the searing hot dishes that they were baked in! I'm talking 400 plus degree dishes served to a four and a six year old. I warned the kids that the plates were very hot and to wait to eat. My daughter accidentally grazed the edge of her plate with a knuckle as she reached for something and it burned and blistered her hand! When I called over a nearby waitress and asked for a manager she tells me that our waiter IS the manager on duty. She fetches him, and I calmly tell him that I know this is the kitchen's fault, but that he should know as a server to never bring a dish that hot to a child. I stress that I remained calm. Didn't raise my voice, didn't demand anything. Just showed him my teary-eyed daughter and her hand, and said that there was no way this was safe. Did he apologize? Offer to replate the food? Offer us anything at all? No. His only response was, " I have been working here for ten years and that is how we always do it." We replated the kid's food ourselves, using doubled napkins to hold the edge of the still searing hot baking dishes, and then all he can manage is, "Excuse me, I need to tell the kitchen" as he takes the empty dish away. By now, I am being fake nice because it is clear to me that we will get nowhere with further discussion. We get the check and are, of course, charged full price for everything. This was like one of those ridiculous, over the top, save the failing restaurant TV shows. We will make sure to come out to the pumpkin patch on a Saturday next year, so we can enjoy the excellent service, solid food, and tasty pie at the Bluebonnet Cafe! Wasn't expecting a whole lot but a few things surprised me. Not in a good way. Majority of the food was fair. The service, not so much. I believe the manager was assisting us which he was pleasant enough. The salads were horrible. We chose the house dressing. It's an Italian joint so you'd expect a house Italian, some vinaigrette. Instead our salad had what tasted like extra cold cocktail sauce. I kid you not. COLD COCKTAIL SAUCE. I'm Italian and I can tell you that wasn't normal. Gross, we didn't eat them. We ordered a cheese pie for the boys, Lobster Ravioli and Shrimp FraDiablo in red clam sauce. The server didn't speak English so when she dropped off the food she stood there like were were supposed to know which plate was ours. I've never dined there before and had no idea which was ours. Plus she held the plates above eye level. So awkward my finance rattles off his order...which she understood. So why not just ask which plate is ours? My fiancées meal was the Lobster one and it was tasty. Almost sweet even. Thick cream sauce that was slightly pink. Mine was the Shrimp FraDiablo. It had a lot if freeze dried clams and 6 large shrimp. The flavor was just enough spice. We ordered a bottle of Louis Martini Cab which was average price. On a recent girls weekend trip we stopped and tried to go to Russos but with the bad reviews we gave this place a shot. We were proptly seated. Our waiter took our wine order and it came quickly, which included water and tea as well and he was very fast. We ordered bruschetta balsamic which had wonderful tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olive oil and toasted perfectly and was a great choice with the wine. I ordered baked ziti and chose soup over salad which was a wise choice as it was homemade chicken noodle with large pieces of chicken and you could tell they made it fresh daily. The garlic knots they gave us were fantastic and fresh and perfectly seasoned. The ziti was hot, cheesy, well seasoned and a perfect portion for lunch. My friend got the salad with Caesar dressing with was wonderful, and the eggplant parmesan was breaded to perfection and had lots of mozzarella cheese. They also overcharged us for our food. I had to talk to the manager about why I was being charged several dollars more.
