I've been excited to check this place out since I saw it under construction. The decor inside is very tasteful, but I was concerned the pizza wouldn't be up to the same standard. Bella Pizza is the one place I can count on to get a fresh slice any time of day or night! If you want something more substantial and fresher than the usual dollar version of pizza you get everywhere in NYC, grab a slice here! It's a bit more by a couple dollars, but totally worth it. They've got interesting combinations all the time (my family's favorite picks the chimi or the el vacano, loaded with a whole bunch of toppings), but their take on the more 'normal' classics (pepperoni, mac n' cheese with bacon, hawaiian, penne al vodka, etc) are wonderful too. I also make a point to pick up their artichoke&spinach slice when it's available at the window, which has the right amount of cheese to greens ratio, always. And the crust, it definitely hold up (for both holding the pizza and for eating it!) Speaking of their slices, they're definitely bigger than your average slice everywhere, so it's worth sharing! In addition to pizzas, their garlic knots (3 for $1) are awesome, as are their own oreo/nutella zeppoles! And regular zeppoles too, if you're into keeping it classic. I'm not normally pizza loyal, but since they've moved to the Fordham Road area, I no longer have to calculate where to get the best slice in town close to home, aha! So far I've had their Vodka Sicilian slice and their bruschetta slice and they're both AMAZING. The bruschetta slice is full of the typical ingredients and pieces of breaded chicken and you could really taste the seasonings . I don't like to give negative reviews. But i am a person that looks a reviews when considering a place to eat. This place had reviews saying the pizza tasted very good. I got the chimi pie for my family and myself, and really expected it to be good. The pizza was full of cabbage mostly, the plantains were past ripe, and the little amount of meat that it had tasted like nothing, it was very bland. We also got fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, that was also bland and tasteless, it was like plain thick cream with no salt. We also got the Oreo croissant thing and it tasted like pure oil, and it was dry. The person working the oven was on his phone with no gloves on. The lady at the register was polite even on the phone, when i got there, one of the cooks was arguing with her about a ticket. Don't know if it was just a bad day for this business but i wouldn't eat the food there again. We ended up throwing away most of the pizza pie. read more

I been to this place many times before and have never had an issue but today was very different. They lost 2 families as customers. I ordered 2 slices with toppings & an order of garlic knots. The toppings were not correct on one slice so I went back to have them fix one of my slices. The server claimed that that's what I ordered but it was not. I also didn't receive the garlic knots. I informed them of that but I learned they didn't charge me for the knots which was fine, I ordered the knots anyways. I payed for the knots (I was charged a surcharge for having less than 5 dollars on my order which would have been nice to know before I agreed to order the knots I didn't receive originally). The person I was with got a call and was talking over the phone. We decided to eat in the store & that's where the disrespect began. No music was playing before but once we sat down to eat, the music got louder and louder and louder to the point where the person I was with couldn't speak on the phone. I got up and asked (POLITELY OF COURSE) if they could lower down the music because I was eating and the person I was with was on the phone. The two cashiers said I had to speak to the cook so I speak to the cook and told him if he could lower the music & that I know he was raising the volume purposely & that it was really rude because we were eating/talking. His words were "I didn't want to hear the conversation and that it was too loud" Like what?... If the conversation was too loud, as a business owner & professional, you would have asked politely to please quiet down which would have been 10000% appropriate. Really one of the most disrespectful, rude, unacceptable, & unprofessional experiences I've had in an establishment. Don't spend your money here, it's a waste. read more
