Very Dirty + Extremely Poor Quality Trying to save someone the time and money in order to have a good experience somewhere else. I've never left a review and nor would I ever want to take money away from a business, but this nail salon needs to make some quality improvements. Nails - I had a spa mani and pedi. Overall very subpar experience. They had blue stones that died the water and also my feet and cuticles around my toes. They said it would eventually wash off (what?!) Callus removal was done with a pumice stone clearly used on several other people. Gross. My feet were brushed over and callus' barely touched. More like a graze over rather than serving its purpose. Massage was a light touch - more a running of fingers over my legs. The nail polish job was unfortunately the worst I've ever had. All over my skin, extended beyond nails, not covering all or some nails...I asked them to clean the nail polish off my skin twice. Needless to say.... End result is beyond unacceptable by a "professional" nail salon. Dirty - There is a layer of nail dust, grime and dirt everywhere you look. Fans, lamps, manicure tables, pedicure basins clearly aren't cleaned between services (dirty, nail clippings, etc) even though they use liners, drippings of soaps and polishes (you name it) outside spa basins. Cotton balls are kept in plastic grocery bags yet exposed under their pedicure stools. Towels stained. We were there the moment they opened at 9am so it clearly wasn't because they had a days worth of service they didn't yet have a chance to clean. read more

Amy does the best/most perfect and detailed dip manicure! I live in River North in Downtown Chicago and only go here when I am out in the suburbs visiting my parents. I had been going to a salon downtown but noticed my no chip manicures weren't lasting very long or looking as good as usual and wanted them perfect for my upcoming wedding at the end of the month. I usually come here with my mom on weekday mornings or afternoons, which tend to be not all that busy. I've had my pedicure done by Jenny multiple times and every time I ask for a design I've gotten tons of raves and compliments from people (including hostesses at restaurants, people at the gym, etc) on how amazing they look. I'm not exaggerating when I say two people have asked me within the past week who does my pedicure -which is now almost 2 wks old already. The most recent design I've gotten are some very cute pineapples she free-handed and my favorite so far were hot air balloons that she made to be on theme with my son's first birthday party. I usually pick a few inspiration images off of Instagram and the colors I like and then let her work her magic. I've always liked what she's done even more than the inspiration pics. I also just got a gel manicure done yesterday (by another nail tech whose name I failed to ask for!) who was very friendly and did a great job. She actually applied the gel all the way down to the cuticle, which I appreciate since I've gotten gel nails at other salons that look like they've already grown out the moment they finish. read more

I had a horrible experience today. I made an appointment so that I wouldn't have to wait, which I ended up doing for about 20 minutes. Then, I was incredibly rushed through a terrible manicure. First, one woman stood in front of me to soak my no chip polish off, then she went to another client and a man came to me. I suspect I was "brushed off" because I simply wanted a manicure rather than a costly procedure. He, too, rushed through the remainder of my manicure, not filing my nails or putting the polish on nicely. He even cut my cuticle with the clippers so that it bled. If I could give less than one star I would. We needed an acrylic nail repair for my daughter and were told it would be 15 minutes before someone could see her. I ran a couple errands thinking it would be done when I was. They let her sit there for an hour and took a walk-in right in front of her for a polish change like she was invisible. If you want to get treated like utter crap, by all means visit this place. I've had three other techs do my nails and they are very good as well. Jae is also sweet and funny - great to talk to. The salon is well ventilated, calm and not large and crowded. I had a terrible experience at Bella nails. I got my nails done on a Friday. The whole time I was getting my nails done the lady kept answering the phone every 5/10 minutes. Then during my manicure she kept cutting me and it hurt so bad I had to pull my hand away. Instead of saying sorry she just looked up at the ceiling like I was an inconvenience to her. Also, my nail length, she never asked me how long I wanted it she just cut it. After getting my nails done, even after three days my nails were hurting so I wanted to get them cut shorter. I went in and asked them to cut it shorter, and the guy told me it was my fault my nails were hurting. And they could cut them but they wouldn't paint the nails and fix them. They are so rude and unprofessional. The fact that he was going to make me pay all over again after I just came in 3 days prior is ridiculous. I have had an experience where my nails were to long and they fixed them for me right away and gave great customer service. Most reviewers complain about the dinginess of nail salons but in the same breath reveal that a low price is the driving factor to get their nails done there. Well, what do you expect? It's a rat race for nail salons to get business and in order to offer low prices, they've got to cut corners. That place is incredibly clean, the service is friendly, and the prices aren't bad at all. When I walked in, I noticed all the bottles of polish were neatly labeled, so you could place them back in the correct spot on the shelf. I have friends that go here all the time to get acrylic nails done & literally every single time, they have at least 2 nails break off completely within a couple days. The techs do the nails super thin & my friends don't even do anything crazy & the nails just snap in half. Then the techs claim the nails break because they didn't do gel color. I've had my nails done for YEARS elsewhere and I have NEVER had the issues that my friends have at Bella regardless of if I do regular or gel color. They just want to upsell you on the gel & then they charge you again when it needs to be repaired because they did a crap job. read more

Horrible experience! I rarely ever get my nails done but I am going on vacation soon so I decided to get a $35 no-chip gel manicure. The lady was not very friendly upon arrival or while doing my nails. She began filing and using cuticle tools and cut my finger pretty bad and it would not stop bleeding. She did not apologize and instead told me that it was hard to tell the difference between my cuticle and skin color as an excuse. She tried to get it to stop bleeding and couldn't so had me hold it myself. In the end she used a band aid and did the rest of my nails. My final nails were cut crooked and the nail polish on my cut nail had weird chunks in it. My nail also has dried blood around it which she did not try to clean up. She had me pay full price and never apologized. I will never go back. read more

I went today for an acrylic manicure after being recommended to here by a friend because their acrylic manicures are 25 dollars. Little did I know they START at 25 dollars and everything more than a basic square cut nail is an upcharge. Simply getting a rounded or almond shape is 5 dollars more, and I got almond and no chip nail polish so mine ended up somehow being 55 DOLLARS. I'm not sure how the math works considering I was told no chip is 33 dollars so I paid 22 dollars just for an almond shape?? The actual nails aren't great either, my nails are uneven in many places and some are round and some are pointy. DEFINITELY not 55 dollar worth nails. The girl next to me also seemed to be confused on the pricing and she didn't even get no chip but still paid 55 dollars. I honestly recommend getting your nails done elsewhere as the service isn't amazing either. I have been going to Bella Nails for mani-pedis for over a year. The services are great and my nails always look beautiful.

I was going to Bella's well over a year which in the end really sucks for them, I was a very loyal customer. I called for my usual appt and Tina's Mother took the info (my 9yr old daughter gets a pedicure, as do I, then I get a fill and a no chip.. almost every time) I hang up and I'm rushing to get some things done before my appt in 45 min. Then my phone rings and its Tina, she explains that she can't take me that quickly and she couldn't take me until later (I believe it was 1.5hrs now) I was bummed because I was already out but whatever. We showed up on time for the appt and went back to the pedicure chairs. The one girl started on my daughters pedicure right away (they were finishing another Mother/Daughter duo) I sat there for FOURTY FIVE MINUTES waiting for my pedicure while the other girl drew pictures on the daughters nails that I'm assuming they didn't tell her previously and she should have politely declined because she had another appt sitting there. My daughter was already finished her pedicure.. Oh and I'm not finished.... She comes over and starts my pedicure..at this point she knows I'm beyond annoyed, I tell her that "I'M NOT SURE I have time for my nails now" she proceeds to get up and go over to Tina who I think is going to come over and ask me but no, so I don't know at this point what has transpired. She rushed through my pedicure (I'm assuming to get me into my nail chair faster) She did terrible though and I had to ask her to redo the polish on one of my toes and she looks at me like are you serious? Uh ya, I'm serious. She was putting too thick of a first layer of polish on and the second layer was going on bumpy immediately. Then during the pedicure after making me wait 45 minutes for her she has the nerve to say to me .. Wait for it... "YOU LOOK TIRED"..... OH THANK YOU!!! Thanks so much! So After all this awesomeness I get out of my chair and walk toward the front to get my no chip and YOU GUESSED IT.. Tina took a different customer, didn't come and confirm it with me, didn't apologize... Nothing!! That's how you get treated here after being a loyal customer for over a year. I'll never go back! I would have to say that I am very disappointed. My nails do not look good and the fact that the nail tech just slapped the polish on and could see that it was not smooth was sad to me. My dip is very lumpy and I've never been to a nail salon that was this terrible. I would never give under three stars unless you have a terrible attitude, but I think the nail techs may need additional training. There is no way I would accept the way my nails look as my work if I prided myself on my work. I am too embarrassed to take a photo of them to be honest so you can make your judgment from that. Now I have to get my nails redone somewhere else sometime next week which is a true inconvenience and now a waste of money as well. read more

I had been coming to Bella for months and today when I went to get my gel set filled I had a man who was rude and complained about filing my glitter powder off. He told me that it was too hard and time consuming. After filling my nails and painting them with regular polish after I had specifically asked for glitter powder... They just used a plain top coat on my nails and no uv lamp to cure the gel, because there was no gel used, at all! The design on my nails is horrible and not what I asked for at all... Then at cash out, they charged me the 35 dollars for a gel fill! Which isn't even their quoted price it's $25.00! Needless to say, I will NOT be coming back. I will gladly go back to Kym and Kym nails on 75th street and I suggest you all do the same. read more

I've experienced two nail services here - a manicure one day and a pedicure months later. Both were nicely done and a bargain, at that. My only complaint is the extremely strong odor of polish and solvents. I could barely stand it. My respiratory tract was grateful when I was able to leave and finally breathe in fresh air. Aaaah. I've visited Bella Nails a few times. I'm never overwhelmingly pleased, yet they get the job done. If you are expecting a professional job, I wouldn't chose this location. It has always been clean, but some of the technicians really don't take the time to perform their job correctly. No matter how "inexpensive" a nail salon is, they should all be able to shape your nails NOT on a diagonal or file them appropriately so they aren't jagged. I take partial responsibility for not noticing before I left the store, but I feel that those are basic results that any level of salon should be able to produce. The employees are nice. They could probably take a little more time to double check their work. The store has a policy of "No Tips on Credit Cards", which they have signs all throughout reminding you. I'm always a little skeptical of places that only want cash tips, but that is the policy. If you chose to go here, just make sure that you are watching to make sure you are getting what you want. read more

They are also extremely pushy about dip nails. They wanted to do a dip on my 4 year old. Why would I ever put dip or no-chip on a child?
