This place is excellent. One of my favorites when I'm back in Springfield. They have a separate gluten-free menu with plenty of options that have never disappointed. My favorite is the gluten-free Chicken Parm with a side of g-free pasta. The Milano salads are awesome, I highly recommend ordering one with your entree. The atmosphere of this place is so romantic. The lights down low and sexy music playing. I was actually surprised to see so many families but I guess kids like Italian too. Not good, marinara was tomato paste without any flavor, Caesar salad was very heavily dressed, and doubt if the oil for the bread was olive oil or was really cheap olive oil or canola oil. Review rant: Bella Milano why are you so inconsiderate of my time! Decent food, but not spectacular. Definitely not good enough to excuse the complete disregard for my schedule. If I call ahead for takeout and you tell me 20 minutes but then 40 minutes later, you can't provide me with that food, it's disrespectful. Ok, now for an overall review. The location: the building is fairly new and well kept. The decor: modern, nothing that screams Italian, but it's nice that it's not kitschy. Nice lighting, appropriate for business meals, friendly meals, family meals and romantic meals. The menu: I think the modern decor might male you think the menu was going to be a more modern take on Italian, but it's not. There ate definitely sine delicious things in the menu, but, I find some of there sauces to be too sweet. All in all, it's slightly above average. Service: Obviously you already know how I feel about that. Generally the servers are nice, I understand that what happens in the kitchen is not their fault. However, on occasion, I have been clearly forgotten about, and I really don't care how good your food, is if I can't get it, it's not worth it. I work across the street, however, more than once, I have had to have my food bagged before I've even gotten it so that I could make it back to work on time. I have an hour for lunch. Today, I placed a take out order at 11:19. I was told it would be ready in about 20 minutes. At 11:57, it was not ready. I didn't get the food until after noon. I'm almost certain they hadn't even begin to fix it when I arrived. This was supposed to be lunch for my daughter and I but, by the time I got to her school, lunch was almost already over. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town but the customer service and food quality seems to be going downhill. I put in an order to go last night. While I was waiting, a girl dropped off an application for a job. The group at the front desk were reading it out loud and making comments about each past job that the applicant had, not in a positive way. When I opened my order at home, not only was my bread missing but also my salad dressing and one of the salads was actually open. While I'm a huge fan of their family feast, I will probably only eat in the restaurant. read more

the lisagna was just divine it is like God zapped your taste buds with mountains of flavor and there strawberry smoothes are so flavorful and there meatballs are huge but yet so good and the decor was tastefully done and the music and the lighting was just great, the main entrance was very welcoming and all of this is from my expert oppinion if you want to know how this place is you need to go there yourself plus we drove all the way from Algonquin and tried this place out and it was worth it. Great Salmon! There's a brown mustard salmon dish that is very good and there is also a salmon dish that has a soy type glaze that is delicious. The house salad (minus meat) with dressing on the side is always fresh and tasty. Romantic atmosphere and good selection of wine. read more

What a great dining experience we had tonight! The citrus salmon my wife had was wonderful and my seafood ravioli was wonderful, the other couple had carbonara and pizza & said it was fine too. The Milano salad is excellent. The buffalo chicken soup was unique and tasty, but could have used a lot more chicken. The entree I ordered at the server's recommendation (Chicken Milano) was mediocre at best due to the "Mac and cheese" style sauce on it. Been here a hand full of times and unfortunately the one thing I can say about this place is inconsistent! If you go on a good night & who knows when that is, the food is excellent but if you go on a bad night, again who knows when that is, the food will actually needed to be sent back. I LOVE their Tomato Basil soup. I get a bowl everytime I go! Have always been happy with the entrees as well. Nice atmosphere but it can get extremely crowded and loud on Friday or Saturday nights. My office ate there last week, and the food was far from being good. Pasta dishes were under heat lamps too long. The personalized pizza orders had the wrong toppings. They did comp My pizza, I ate two pieces off it and it was awful. I had a Diet Pepsi with my meal, and they added the gratuity to my drink..Really!!! When we sat down, we asked for bread and the server said that the bread man had not delivered it yet. You know, that's not our fault and poor planning, during Christmas week luncheons. She finally gave us two small baskets and we had to ask for the oil. When the pasta dishes were delivered, we had to ask again for bread. I was very unhappy with the food, service and overall experience. The manager came in after we got our bills and apologized. Nice effort, but a little too late! read more

Food was amazing and drinks were great! But service was okay. Our server followed the steps of service to a T but we were rushed through our entire experience. As we were being sat the manager said "Sorry, but you're welcome" to our server who then shot her a look. We LOVE this restaurant. We love their house salad with or without grilled salmon. We especially love the Chicken Milano or Beef Milano. Our service is always great and servers are always friendly and welcoming. If we want Italian in Springfield, we always go here. This was a regular stop for my mother and I when I still lived in Springfield, so we've been here dozens of times. The food here has consistently been good, only a couple times can I remember the food being sub-par - but then, that's going to happen anywhere once in a while. My mom would always get a pasta dish for forever until I convinced her to try the tortellini with prosciutto - which is probably the best tortellini I've had in a while. Definitely worth a try if you like tortellini alfredo. My favorite was the citrus honey glazed salmon, but it was hit or miss. The flavor was always good but the texture of the fish was sometimes tender and perfect and other times just okay. If you go for lunch and like fish DEFINITELY get the panko crusted fish with the honey sriracha glaze - it is SOOO good. I always got sad it wasn't on the dinner menu. The creme brule is also very good, and we would get that periodically. The ambiance is good, but if it's packed try to get yourself seated at a booth because the room in the back area of the restaurant behind the fireplace gets very, very loud when it's full. If you want to save money but still have good food, come for lunch. The lunch portions are much more reasonably priced and they have a 10 for $10 menu (that includes the honey sriracha fish!) Overall I would recommend this place if you're craving Italian! read more

We were visiting friends in Springfield who recommended Bella Milano. The caesar salad was good and the cannolli was ok. However, the the rest was below average. They should have been embarrassed to serve the shrimp taco appetizers - three small tortillas, each topped with three tiny, tiny and tasteless shrimp with what appeared to be a single diced cherry tomato. The chicken marsala seemed to have been breaded and fried (until dried out), and then smothered in gravy - like a truck stop chicken fried steak with brown mushroom gravy. i just tried them for the first time and was excited the atmosphere was nice along with the employees but i was not impressed by the food. I ordered lasagna and some garlic cheese bread, it also came with a bread basket but the bread tasted like cheep hoagies cut in slices the lasagna was okay nowhere near the best i have had the sauce was thick and pasty and the noodles tasted like the sheet ones that you don't have to boil you just throw it all together and bake it, the only thing i liked about the food was the amount of ricotta that came on the lasagna and the size of the meal. I was extremely disappointed especially for the price, to me it seems like they make it look like a high class restaurant with high prices to cover up their cheep food. i would rather eat at home than go back to this place. read more
