Bella is our favorite Italian place in the Springfield area. I'll never understand why I'd have to wait 30-40 minutes to get a table at Olive Garden, when I can usually get seated immediately for much better food just down the road at Bella Milano. Our most recent visit started with spinach and artichoke dip which was great on the toasted bread slices. Wife had one of the specials and fought me off from taking any. I had the tortellini in the Asiago butter cream sauce. I don't think we've been disappointed any of the times we've gone here. We went to Bella for my birthday. I can not say how disappointed we were! We had reservations and have always enjoyed this place. but boy has it gone down hill. we waited nearly an hour for our food. We were told it was because there was a big party. but when we got our food is was COLD. The chicken Milano was not breaded, it was grilled and super dry. The beef Milano medallion were so small they were eaten in two bites. Our sides were cold too. We will not be back. For as much as we had to pay a I expected way better. read more

It's a bit fancier than Olive Garden and also more expensive. On the downside, the strawberry daiquiri wasn't good and some of their pasta dishes were very saucy and a little too sweet. I ordered the dinner entree Shrimp Rosalino and the house speciality milano salad for $24.00 or $26.34 with tax. I redeemed a $20 off dinner birthday coupon. I would recommend the salad. The fried butterflyed shrimp were spot on except for the mushroom lemon butter sauce. Mushrooms seem an odd combination for fried shrimp. I would have preferred a citrus, caribbean flavor. My absolute favorite Italian restaurant in town. Every dish from appetizer to entree to side dish is amazing. On top of their main dishes The restaurant always has delicious daily steak or seafood specials paired with a custom side. The Milano salad is a must if you visit and is included as an option with most entrees. The dressing along with the pseudo bacon are what makes this dish unique and delicious. Other than the portion sizes being small for the price, I thought it was a decent place. Nothing I would call a favorite or visit often. A couple will spend $100 pretty easy. I had Cajun pork which was good just a little small for $26 and two small sides. My wife had the Alfredo which was bland and $5 to add chicken with it. Their salad and bread was the most enjoyable I thought, and their chocolate cake was pretty good. Had the portion sizes been a little more generous I wouldn't mind the prices. We were driving through Springfield & read the wonderful reviews on this restaurant. I also noted the many gluten free options. The waitress we had was personable & efficient . She mentioned to the general manager that we were from TX & he came to introduce himself. He was very cordial & offered us a free appetizer or dessert. I want to give this place a 5 star but I have to say that I have not liked a few things that I ordered in the past that were their specials for the night. My favorites are their pizzas and salmon. Their chicken Milano and beef Milano are great. Their Martinis are wonderful. The atmosphere is dim and romantic, but ironically very suitable for non romantic attendance too. We signed up for their emails or club thing to get coupons, which helps on their prices. Oh! One of my favorite things they have is their side salad. I love their dressing and pancetta on it. The food is pretty great. I haven't had the pasta, but the seafood and steak are really good. Most recently tried the stuffed roughy...Fish was cooked really well and the stuffing was delicious. The Milano Filet is also great--definitely high quality. I've had the salmon before and it was also prepared really well. Drinks took a little too long for my taste, but the martinis are tasty. I've never had any issues with the service. In fact, upon being late for our reservation by about five minutes, they were very gracious and honored it, even though there were many following us and people waiting for tables. (sorry!) Atmosphere is really intimate and makes for a nice dinner. Some of their tables could use some repair and I agree with other reviewers that it would be nice if they were a little farther apart. In my opinion, this is the best Italian restaurant in Springfield. The atmosphere is nice without feeling too formal. The pasta is always cooked well and their pizzas solid. We get their family feast carry out special a lot. It is a spectacular value. 2 trays of pasta salad and bread. Or you can choose 2 pizzas or one of each. Always great and only around $30. Went here today with some family. I was starving and was nothing short of satisfied. It's a pretty nice atmosphere with cool decor inside. We ordered some appetizers consisting of toasted ravioli, fried calamari, and fried zucchini strips. The toasted ravioli was phenomenal, and the others were pretty good. My family loved them though. The Milano special salad dressing was great, and had little bacon pieces scattered in it. Definitely try the Pasta Three Way if you're unsure of what to get. It has spaghetti, penne, and ravioli in it, covered in a marinara sauce with a plump meatball sitting on too. But that's not it, it had a cheese sauce blanketed over the whole meal. I've been here a few times and have never really impressed. If equate it to local Olive Garden. I've always gotten mushy pasta, the sauce is sweet and greasy. Their one saving grace was Caesar Salad with anchovies on top. Last time I went, no anchovies. I asked and they said that customers were upset by it. I guess the type of people that frequent that kind of place did not realize that there were anchovies in Caesar Salad. Way to go Springfield. Service has been adequate but slow. This is a good place to go for pasta, and their Milano salad is wonderful. However, the service can be slow at times (mostly on Friday/Saturday nights, which is understandable). The reason I give this place 3 stars is because their takeout and delivery leave much to be desired. We order delivery from here often and not once have we received our complete order. There is always something missing, usually the chicken that comes on the strawberry chicken salad. Salad is often missing when I order a pasta entree. Every meal I have ever had here has ranged from good to outstanding. My favorite is the Steak Milano for dinner and Chicken Milano for lunch. The pizza is very good but the Milano Salad is amazing! Went there for the first time on February 3. My boyfriend and I were having a date night and seeing a symphony later so we were going all out. I made reservations at 5PM just in case so we could make our symphony on time. We ordered the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the pasta 3-way and it was sooo good. My boyfriend had the chicken Parmesan and loved it as well. We finished with creme brûlée and spumoni ice cream for dessert, both of which were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is a bit pricier but I felt the food was definitely worth it. I even messed up my tip and had to call the next day to make sure she got the right amount (would've been $6 instead of $16 which is what I meant) and the manager was very kind and asked me how my meal was. I felt like a complete idiot but he was nice and understanding and made sure she got her whole tip. She was a great server, I never did catch her name, otherwise I'd recommend her. read more

Until my last visit, I wasn't overly impressed with the dishes I had previously selected on multiple visits (BLT pasta (very heavy) and fish tacos (cold and soggy). Last visit, however, I tried their Almond Coconut Whitefish and found it to be delicious! Very, very good!! Their house salad is really good, as well - combination of interesting flavors which complimented my lunch beautifully. Yesterday I hosted my sister-in-law's bridal shower in the Tuscan room and the experience was just as wonderful as I had hoped! The manager was communicative and easy to work with, the room was ready when we arrived an hour early to set up, the server was very attentive without being intrusive and the food was hot, delicious and came out timed perfectly to what was requested. Terrible service tonight at Bella Milano. Not sure what's happening, but the last few times have been a horrible experience for me and my family. Took two hours tonight to get our food and my wife's dish didn't even come out. Waited 20mins longer for her dish and by that time we had to leave. When I asked to speak with the manager, (Andrew) was rude, unapologetic, and defensive. Sad to say, but Bella Milano has lost my business. Terrible service! read more
