We just returned from dinner at Bella Mia. We had 6:45pm reservations for a party of eight. The decor is typical Italian restaurant, with high ceilings and ceramic tile floors. We were seated promptly, but our server took at least ten minutes to make an appearance. After taking our drink orders, we were again left to sit for another ten minutes or so. When the drinks were delivered, she couldn't remember who had ordered what drink (one of the most basic necessities of good service). At 7:00pm, the "Las Vegas style" show began; it had been advertised as beginning at 8:00pm. The "talent" was crude, obnoxious, and not talented. He not only sang and performed loudly in the performance area, but also walked through the dining area singing and calling out diners for various clothing choices or looking like a celebrity. During this time, our server finally took our dinner order. Our salads and soups arrived first; the cream of chicken rice soup was tepid and unflavorful. The Caprese Salad was delicious. Then dinner was served - well half of the dinners were served. Four of our party didn't receive their meals. Our waitress assured us the others would be out momentarily, so those of us who received our dinners began to eat. We were finished eating as the others in our party received their meals. Initially the excuse was that the food runner should not have brought half the dinners out as the others were still being prepared. But when the balance of the dinners were served, it was clear that they had never been made in the first place. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. I had the steamed mussel appetizer as my entree; they were tender and soft bathed in a nice white wine sauce. Even though the food was tasty, we will never dine there again. While we were eating our soups and salads, one of the managers/owners came to our table to ask how we were enjoying everything. I commented that the "entertainer" was too loud and rather crude and that we could not even have any dining conversation due to the over the top sound. I also mentioned that we were there celebrating. Mother's Day with my mother-in-law. I said that it would be difficult for us to imagine dining there in the future. "Well, I have 180 people who are here to see him perform so that's your choice." I was appalled at how rude his comment was and how uncomfortable it made me feel. I wasn't yelling at him, or asking for a free meal. Just stating the facts when he asked me if we were enjoying our evening. We had to request refills on water as well as on soft drinks and iced tea. Our dirty appetizer dishes were never bused, nor were our dinner dishes. We had to ask. There are so many places we can spend our entertainment dollars; I imagine we should have done a great deal more research before agreeing to dine at this establishment. Never again. read more

I can't believe the horrible service at this place. I came here for a birthday party 11 people seated on a table suitable for 8. Patti, our sever couldn't understand the concept of family style dining. Charged a split fee of $4.50 per person totaling $9. We got this charge takes off because we did not get the extra soup or salad. Although they did offer to bring it (when we were trying to leave). Never got our coffee. Was visibly irritated that we didn't order drinks. Added a nice 20% gratuity for herself. Food was mediocre at best. Dining experience was one of the worst in a long time. First time at this restaurant. The food was enjoyable but the side pasta left something to be desired. It was not fresh and the sauce had completely saturated through the noodles. I believe that dinner should not be insulted by an unsavory side dish. Salads on the other hand were crisp and fresh on this occasion. Inside it's a lot nicer place than the outside seems to indicate. Service was pretty good. The food, though! It really doesn't live up to the atmosphere. "Cream of mushroom" soup is starchy cream of chicken with mushroom slices. Capellini marinara was bland; chicken vesuvio was edible (chicken was generous and nicely done) but salty sauce and blah potato wedges. Uninteresting dry bread...I know everyone loves Turano bread, but yawn. I wouldn't be proud of this low-effort food in such a place.Spent about $60 for two; we had a glass of wine each. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our first Valentine's Day together as a married couple at a romantic place we love so we made a reservation for Bella Mia online for Feb 14th at 7:30pm. We arrived at 7:20pm and checked in. I understand it was Valentine's Day and it was busy however we waited over a half hour until we finally asked when will we be seated. They said four people were in front of us to be seated and at that point didn't want to wait over an hour from our reserved time to then be seated and wait even longer to get our food. I was starving and upset so we left and I will now always remember our first Valentines Day as husband and wife with this memory. I took my significant other here for his bday. We had reservations for 7:30 but the hostess accomdated us sooner. Patti came over and advised that she would be our waitress. After about 10 minutes of waiting Beth noticed that we have not been served yet. She happily gave us bread and took out order. Patti came over & apologied for the inconvience. I enjoyed the live band & the special cupcake that was given to my significant other for his bday. The food was delicious. Beautiful restaurant with good food. Heard nice things about this place from friends, so decided to try it. The decor is warm, romantic and elegant. The food was very good, substantial portions at a reasonable price. The bread was not as fresh/soft as I would have preferred and the wine list needs some help. The house wine could be upgraded and a few better wines by the glass would be nice. Service was friendly tableside and at the bar, which is huge. A surprise in the strip mall location, next to a sports bar with a totally different atmosphere. Defintely recommend and will return. read more

Skip the holiday buffet. Visited for Mothers Day and lines were 20 people deep. They ran out of plates, ran out of food, carving station left without server, dirty glasses littered the buffet tables because people had to wait in line so long. This place really is a hidden gem. I went here with 5 other family members to celebrate a birthday. The food was great and served hot. I had the spaghetti with meatballs. It was delicious. My biggest red flag, how are you going to be a fancy italian restaurant and not have a homemade house italian vinaigrette. Something so simple and basic. Yours is clearly bottled and has that gummy taste. Ick. Its the easiest thing in the world to throw together some red wine vinaigrette, sugar, olive oil, italian seasoning and shallot. Thats really all it takes. Things that were ok.. Meatball and sauce Steak was well cooked but the "vesuvio" sauce that it came swimming in was not as flavorful as it looked. And for $29 ! Anyway, ok meal but I would not come back. From the looks of it, there are a lot of local die hards who come here. I'm guessing because the atmosphere is nice and they have a big bar. The best ever ( homemade I believe ) linguine with white clam sauce, the bruschetta was fresh, tasty and perfectly blended. Salad was fresh, crisp, cold, with great garlic dressing. ?However more important than the absolutely best Italian food I have tasted was the hospitality and warmth of the four employees I encountered. This was a takeout order and everyone of the waitstaff made me want to give them my business forever. They were all professional but warm and friendly, well trained and seemed to genuinely like their job. Kudos to the owner ! You are a jewel in a world that is lacking your level of service. Was hoping for much better based on the reviews, but I was dissappointed. The decor inside look promising, and the bread seemed freshly baked and the soup was done well. I ordered the Giambotta and it arrived at the table DROWNING in olive oil, as if the cook had accidently poured a full bottle over the sausage and peppers. Overall the effect was less than appetizing. I ate some of the overcooked sausage and the four small peices of potato. Overall the meal was a fail. read more

We dined for the first time on Valentine's Day with a reservation made through Opentable.com. We sat immediately when we arrived and I was given a rose, same as all women did, compliments of the restaurant for Valentine's Day. Very nice touch. Our food was served hot-hot and quickly. Drinks were outstanding. Our waitress was very helpful and congenial, made us feel at home. Stopped in here on a Saturday night without reservations so there was a 40 minute wait and the bar area was packed. We were told we could go next to to Sullivan's for a drink, so we tried to go there but they wanted a $10 cover to see a band. Anyway, we walked back to Bella Mia and now even the lobby area was packed. Needless to say, we didn't wait and decided to go elsewhere. I am willing to give this place a try tho. The decor is very nice and great ambiance. The only thing I didn't like was the small bar area and the fact they sent us to another place just to find out we would have to play a cover charge just to go to the bar for a drink. Wow! We'd been meaning to try this place out and finally got around to going on Saturday. What a gem of a find! The outside of the building is misleading (it is next to Sullivan's bar) and doesn't have a lot of "curb appeal". But, when you walk inside the restaurant, it is beautiful! The interior is all done in wood and has a very nice atmosphere! We were seated within a few minutes even though it was busy and we didn't have a reservation. Everyone on the staff was professional, courteous, and accommodating. Our server was Jane and she was a true professional. We will ask to be seated with her when we come back. The Maitre'd stopped by to check on us and thanked us for coming in. Nice! We ordered baked mostaccioli, chicken Vesuvio, and spaghetti and meatballs. The entrees were delicious and plenty left over for lunch the next day. Bread was fresh and pleasantly crusty; shredded Parmesian fresh and tender. Bruschetta for the appetizer - was incredible. The bread for the Bruschetta was toasted, but not so hard that one couldn't bite into it. Flavors were perfectly blended. All beverages were top notch. We drank Pino Grigio and coffee. Coconut cake for dessert (how did we have room? OMG!) that was fresh and magnificent. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

First time here. Recommendation from a friend of mine. Glad my wife and I went. Generous pours of wine. Hot loaf of bread, olive oil, parmesan cheese complimentary. Olive oil generic but whatever. Started with cream of spinach soup (wife) and escarole soup (me). Both very good. We ordered chicken marsala and chicken francese. Both delicious. Tastes like they use the sweet marsala wine over the dry one. I prefer the dry one personally, but this was still very good. They have pics on this page already. Very reasonably priced. The server was excellent as well. If you make reservations, especially on the weekends, be there when you're supposed to. It gets packed FAST. We will be back no doubt. Our waiter's name was Sal, and I think he is the best waiter I've ever had. He went above and beyond to give us what we wanted. My friend doesn't know much about wine and said she's only ever tried the Moscotto and he brought a red wine for her to try and she really liked it. . The food is delicious! Love the warm bread and the oil & parmesan cheese they bring to every table! Their escrow is the best soup I've ever had, their wine selection is pretty extensive. We will be back! The only thing I really don't think I like is that they write their name on the table, my husband and I go to high class restaurants and I've never seen that done before. Wonderful Italian food at an upscale place. The outside of the restaurant is a bit deciving but don't judge a book by it's cover. Delicious warm bread with garlic butter to start the meal. We came here tonight after a wake for my husband's coworker who suddenly passed in Bridgeport. Our waiter, Nicolas, was nothing short of an absolute angel. He was so polite and really made our dining experience one of a kind. He is definitely meant to be in customer service as he is so incredibly genuine and pleasant. Well I had heard so much about this restaurant I just had to go and check it out. .Well first it was nicely decorated but when you walked in you smelled fish which kind of turned me off. But we stayed should have left. .We ordered the shrimp dejong as an appetizer the shrimp was chewy and just so so,next was cream of broccoli soup which was mediocre. .My daughter has eggplant parmesan which was also mediocre, I had the Chicken bella mia which was okay but the chicken was not very tender. .And the desserts were also so so ..we had the Lemon cake which was very lemony..They had an Italian singer who was not good at all..And one other thing bus boys kept coming over to the table to clear,a dish fill your water glass a little overkill too much ..I would not recommend this place.. read more

Really great food although we had a reservation and the hostess tried to sit us in the back room which SMELLED we passed many tables in the first room when we asked to sit there she told us they were reserved! We had a reservation also finally got to sit in this room,back room filled with older people and kids. Waitress did not know the menu very well. Great food calamari and sausage and peppers appetizers were really good. Not sure I'd order the meat ravioli w marinara a bit on the plain side but meat balls that came with were good. Picked this place based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. We ordered a bunch of food and shared everything. The lasagna was some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the sausage and peppers appetizer as well. Ravioli was amazing. Go with the marinara sauce instead of the meat sauce. Aside from the food being outstanding, there was live entertainment and the singer was very good. The owner of the place came out and introduced himself, which was a nice touch. That sort of thing does not go unnoticed. Given the fact we found this place without a word of mouth recommendation, I was very impressed. The food, as mentioned, was absolutely outstanding. Three of us ate until we were beyond stuffed and enjoyed two bottles of wine (great selection), and the bill only came to $140, which is very reasonable, all things considered. Last but not least, get the chocolate cake, if you have room. As I write this, my friend is currently passed out with a food coma in the back of the Uber. So yeah... we are happy. My family and I had a terrible experience at Bella Mia restaurant on 1-26-21. My family and I will never go back nor support this sub standard establishment again due its sketchy COVID 19 basic precautions! My experience with Bella Mia is their staff running in and out of the kitchen no body wearing masks including the owner! Staff running in and out of the back door, no masks, some were wearing masks over their mouth but not the nose! Some staff did have their masks on properly. We arrived around 4:00 pm for dinner. We were seated and ordered our food. While we were waiting we were all disturbed watching this take place. As more staff filtered in the restaurant, masks seemed to be an option there for the employees, as a customer you had to have a mask to enter! I watched the owner, a cook, other staff come out from the kitchen with NO MASKS! I thought the purpose of the masks is for safety! After a bit of time passed, I asked to speak to the owner since I just seen him come out of the kitchen without his mask on, we were told that the owner was to busy in the back, and you will have to talk with the manager and she's not in yet! After our meal came to the table, the manager came shortly after, NO MASK! I informed her that we were very concerned for our safety! Staff walking outside either front door, mainly in and out from the back door and no mask, I didn't see anyone wash their hands after they were outside, just before they served my table... the manager replied with NO MASK, we do wash our hands and we do take this seriously, thanks for letting me know she replied! We should have just walked out! We stayed for a bit, wrapped up and left! I recommend if entering this restaurant you have your vaccine for Covid 19. read more

This was my first time here. I was impressed with the size of the location for being in a strip mall. I thought that the decor was very nice, warm and welcoming. The bar area is plenty big if you're caught there waiting on a table with a large tv. The staff was very nice and service was very good. We went on a Sunday night at 6, it wasn't too busy but we had made a reservation because the hours were limited and we were going on a recommendation from friend. Service was super fast, ordered and no sooner did our waitress go put our orders in she was back with the salad! Bread was warm and fresh, olive oil had good flavor and they also offered a plate of roasted mashed garlic for the bread! Yummy! I had the vodka sauce and thought it was very tasty..I'm a little picky with that sauce and it had great body and flavor. I came here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. It was such a nice surprise! There are no other good traditional Italian restaurants in this area, in my opinion, but Bella Mia hit the mark! We had delicious wine and the chicken and veal Parmesan. I thought the food was excellent and there was a lot of it. The sauce was very delicious, it was nice and thick. Bella Mia is our go-to spot when we want a fabulous meal in a very nice, friendly atmosphere. The owner Randy is a terrific host! Very likable and courteous. He takes great care of all his customers. The food is incredible. Grilled calamari, Italian pork chops and Chicken Bella Mia are our favorites. The bar is absolutely beautiful and the drinks are great. Not over priced at all. The entertainment on the weekends is an added bonus. Great place! read more
