Victoria, would be the one to have, for a truly educational and memorable experience here!!! The lady is , all class !!! As a Napa Valley chauffeur, far too often I come across pourers , that are only interested in trying to sell you wine continuously.... so refreshing to have come across Victoria !! Her knowledge and history of the region in the Napa Valley exceeds many if not most that I've come across !!! My two clients had never been to the Napa Valley and we're seeking an experience, as well as purchasing many wines ! Victoria's easygoing style put them at ease right away and led to a lasting memory that the clients spoke highly about on our way back to their hotel in San Francisco ! Bell , acknowledge Victoria and her obvious talents and keep doing what you do ! First and foremost, I believe it's about the experience that people have out here ! They will forever buy your wines if you treat them well ! Bravo, Victoria !! Till next we meet !!! read more

I really hate doing this to Bell, but here it goes. Myself and a group totaling six went to Bell on Saturday September 19th at around 230pm for wine tasting, bocce ball, and a good time. Two out of three of the couples, including myself, have been to Bell in the past and make it a point to come every time we are in Napa. We also always make it a point to buy at least one bottle every trip. Last year we stopped by Bell and there were several groups tasting and taking tours. This year there was two other groups, one two person and the other had about eight or so. Anyways, we always enjoy playing bocce ball (for free, no charge ever mentioned before) and wine taste. Again, the last two times were awesome. This year was way different. Like I said above, the place was basically empty when we arrived. My friend and I walked directly over to the bocce ball courts to start warming up our game while everyone else used the facilities and checked in for our reservation. The hostess, Elise, walked the group to a table while ignoring the two of us standing at the bocce ball court. She then told the group that it is $50 to play bocce ball unless we join their club, which would make it free. She kept repeating that they are a boutique winery. She poured us four tastings while constantly asking us to join their wine club. It got to a point that when she walked away the new comers in our group were looking at us like idiots for talking this place up so much. So after the short tasting, about 20min (I mention the amount of tastings and the time of the tasting because usually it takes a while and they are generous when pouring) she again started pushing the wine club, explaining how it's free but you have to buy four bottles every three months for $330 dollars. We declined due to the tradition of buying in Napa after we taste the wine. I instead told her that id like to buy a single bottle of the wine tastes and liked. She then turned to everyone and said that it $20 per person for the tasting. I asked if she would wave it for my fiancée and myself since we are purchasing. She said no. Every part of the day felt uncomfortable and pushy. Since this was our last stop it kind of ended our day badly. Everyone in the group agreed that they felt unwelcome. Sadly, we will not include Bell in our next yearly trip to Napa. read more

This September, I visited Bell Wine Cellars for the third time and I'll be back every time I return to Napa. The past two times, I have opted for the Grape to Glass Tour and I haven't been disappointed. The host hands you a glass of wine while you stroll through the vineyards, then you return to a special tasting room, where a variety of wines are tasted alone, then paired with cheeses, so you can compare the differences and learn why certain cheeses bring out the flavor characteristics of each wine. A barrel tasting is also included. Both of my tours were led by Don, and he is a fantastic teacher. Make sure you visit Bell Wine Cellars on your next visit to Napa Valley. read more

I came by with a group tour and had a nice experience, but definitely not the best ever. The host was a little too talkative although she was very proud of her place of business, which I did like. The wines were pricey and honestly good, not great. The tasting room was nice, but again, nothing special. read more

Good experience learning about the history of Bell Wine Cellars. I'll recommend BE3 Grape to Glass Tour to only wine connoisseurs who can listen about wines for more than one hour otherwise it will be dull. Victoria took great care of us with a wonderful table setting to taste Cabernet sauvignon clones 4, 6, 7 and 337. Valuing our time I feel a BE1 Current Release Tasting would have been better. read more

What a great experience! Learned about Bell Wine Cellars during a tasting at our hotel, Marriott Napa Valley. Dan was serving some awesome Chardonnay and Merlot so my wife and I had to check his winery out. We made an appt on our way out of Napa and we are glad we stopped. Dan again took us through the tasting and was very knowledgeable about his wine. Initial thought when we stepped into the winery was this is not your normal tasting room. You were in the winery! The smell of yeast was there and you knew this is a small winery. Dan shared a lot of great information about his wine and wine making in general. Bell wine cellars has some great wines and I wish I had more room in the box to bring more back home. I picked up a 2006 Cab and 2007 Claret. I do regret not picking up the 2006 Clone 6 , 2007 Merlot and 2008 Chardonnay. The 2006 Clone 6 was the BEST wine we tasted our entire stay. Smooth, silky and full of flavor. Being the best wine we tasted it did come with a higher pice tag. I already spent a lot of money that week and didn't want to push it. Next time I will stop there first. Bell Wine Cellars was a great experience compared to other wineries we visited during our Napa stay. Recommend you try their Clone 6 before you leave. read more

If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate boutique style winery, this is the perfect place!! Maggie was SUPER informative, friendly & all around wonder host! read more

Maggie gave my group a great tasting experience. Their wines are all very good their cabs are great. I decided to join their club and can't wait for my shipments read more

I've been to about 500 wineries in California and bell is on my top 10 list hands down. Not only is the wine amazing the staff is wonderful as well. Maggie toured me around as I experienced their Grape to glass tour and I learned more from her then any other single person I've come across. Her passion about wine and the winery was impressive and left a huge impact on me. If you're a cab lover their clone six is a splurge you'll want to partake in. I also really enjoy their sparkling starter! If you like boutique off the beaten path places and are a cab lover bell is a spot you can't miss! read more

Absolutely the most memorable and informative winery we visited. Beautiful property, excellent wine and cheese pairing and are excited to receive our purchase! Wish we could go on the Rhone river cruise. read more

Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and had a great personality. The wine was delicious and the cellar absolutely beautifully decorated. read more

Our first tasting in Napa and wonderful way to begin our anniversary week! We reserved the Grape to Glass tasting through a recommendation by blogger Local Wally's. We told him we enjoyed bold reds and Bell did not disappoint. Our tour guide John was informative and very friendly yet not obtrusive. Their Chardonnay was more a French-style, Loire Valley and we loved it. Nice merlot and received an add'l tasting from a barrel, Cab Clone 6 that was AMAZING. Highly recommend this tasting and ask for John. He was great and offered good recommendations for restaurants. Unfortunately we had to evacuate the next day due to fires in the area. Hope to make it back to continue our tours. read more

This place was amazing! Great wine and without question the most informative tasting experience I've had. Our host gave us so much interesting and useful information that we'd never heard before but should be on the radar of anyone interested in learning about wine. A+ experience read more

Delicious wine, gorgeous views, great bocce courts, and spectacular service! Bell Wine Cellars was my favorite winery of the weekend. Many of its wines were among the best I've tasted and the opportunity to sample the various pure (non-blended) wines based on cloned grape types was fascinating (and tasty). Our service - provided by Amanda - was best-of-class. She paced the experience perfectly so that our time savoring the wines and admiring the views was punctuated with edifying facts about the wines and interesting anecdotes about the history of Bell Wine Cellars and Napa Valley. I cannot recommend visiting Bell Wine Cellars highly enough. PS: The cheese pairings that can be provided for only a small additional charge were amazing and perfectly complimented the wines. PPS: If I could give this winery 6 stars I would. It is a hidden gem that is only about a mile away from downtown Yountville and it should be included on any tour of the region. read more

The whole experience was exceptional. Starting off with our arrival. We were kindly greeted once we got out of our car and given some of their champagne. We were then asked if we would like to do our tasting inside or out on the terrace. We chose to sit outside which overlooked the gorgeous vineyard. We were then greeted by our wine connoisseur Darren. We were educated and coached on wine history and etiquette. What an amazing experience. Highly recommend this winery to anyone. read more

Having Darren as our host was such an educational experience - his food science chops showed throughout the tasting. Sounds silly but I finally know how to properly smell a wine! From the reserve room setting to the vertical clone 6 tastings, we were given the royal treatment. Clone 4 wound up being our fav and decided to take one back home and lay down for awhile. Well done, Bell. read more

This was the last winery my wife and I visited on our most recent Napa trip. It turned out we saved the best for last! It has such a great family feel to it and you really understand all that goes into making the wine. The wine was our favorite and our guide was the favorite of our trip. I would highly recommend this winery for even the most discerning wine taster. read more

We were treated so well when we came in for a wine tasting sans reservation, looking to kill time before our hotel rooms were ready. Our wine tasting was done by one of the owners who was so friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all of the wines that we tried and it was a great welcome to Napa. read more

Most amazing trip ever!! I loved every minute with John. Thank you for the most exceptional day. I can't recommend this enough!!

This is a beautiful property set back off the road so you don't feel like you're in the middle of the hwy 29 craziness. We signed up for a tasting and John took us on a tour of the grounds and barrel room and then let us sit outside for our tasting. We've been to several tasting rooms over the years, but learned some new things from John. He even gave us some recommendations for dinner and let us taste out of a barrel. He really went above and beyond. This winery checks all the boxes for a lovely wine country experience in addition to the opportunity to taste some really nice wines. read more

Tasting Room Manager, Maggie made my wife and I feel incredibly well taken care of during our lengthy visit. Extremely informative, generous and kind. Not to mention the wines were stellar. Of course, Clone 6 was amazing, but we also loved the Rose'. We had no appointment, but they were accommodating and fit us in. Walked out with 4 bottles. Some of the most expensive wine I've purchased, but worth it. read more

We really enjoyed our experience here. Amanda was awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines! And when it came to purchasing wine and joining the wine club, she was not pushy at all ( which was nice) We did purchase wine and join the club as well! Loved this place and we will come back and recommend to all our friends! read more

we had a private tasting arranged by our tour company and was the last stop of the day. the others winos were also making their way back to the hotels for dinner and such because we had the outside pretty much all to ourselves. we had some amazing wine and cheese delivered to the outside patio for us while we played bocce ball. it was much more fun than other wineries I think because there was for one the bocce ball courts but also an outdoors seating area where we could actually have some privacy. the employees were super friendly and nice. i actually loved talking to the girl that brought our wine out. if i were you i would call ahead and arrange a wine and cheese tasting and prepare to play some drunk bocce ball and have a ton of fun read more

Wonderful experience with John! He's knowledgeable and made our tour so much fun! Truly felt like a VIP!

Awesome place and great wines! Our tour guide Jan really made the whole tour fun and interesting.

Bell is an incredible winery in Yountville. If you can, book a private tour and tasting where you'll get the full story behind the single clone Cabernets and their winemaker Antony. If you're lucky, Maggie will do your tour. Brace yourself for the Clone 6! read more

Went here because it was part of the Napa Valley Passport and I must say, we were very pleased. We came near closing time and we were the only ones left in the cellar but we were gladly taken in without any appointments! The staff was knowledgeable and the cellar wasn't too big but it was still interesting. This is where I had my first wine straight out of a wine barrel. Too amazing for words! Their porto was crazy good! We bought a bottle of it, but wish we bought a couple because it's just too damn good! Don't miss it! read more

My group of 6 ladies thoroughly enjoyed our private tasting here. Lamar poured for us, and his infectious enthusiasm for not just Bell, but for all wine and just generally having a good time probably made the wine taste even better. We sat on the patio, walked through the vinyard, and enjoyed wine as it should be -with friends. I definitely look forward to sharing the bottles I bought with friends here in Phoenix. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon at Bell! read more

The wines were outstanding and the staff, friendly and excited and proud of the product (as they should be). I don't think many people have heard of Bell, but I highly recommend stopping by for a visit. Be sure to call for a tasting appointment. I really couldn't have asked for a better start to a morning in napa. read more

Best Wine Tasting/ Tour experience ever! Thank you Lamar!! Clone 6 Cab was amazing. A must see! We will definitely be back.

We decided to take a last minute trip up to Napa from Oakland on a Wednesday and dropped into Bell Wine Cellars just as they opened at 10am. Our sommelier was super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the general wine making process as well as this particular winery's history and style. He even took us out during the tasting to the vines in the back and explained the how they managed the different varietals while we sipped crisp chardonnay. The cabs were delicious (it's what they are known for), but we ended up going home with a Syrah because our wine rack is already full of cabs. Would totally come back and definitely recommend it as a stop on your wine tour. read more

We're back at Bell this past weekend and received top notch service again! The wines were tasty and their service was amazing (Thanks Kelly). When it's time to join another winery, Bell is on the top of my list! read more

Bell was the third stop of five on my day. The wines were good but it was nothing that I was super impressed with except their most expensive one. I liked the knowledgeable and friendly staff and the wines were not bad. My group liked it better than I did. The Talianna was the one that was really good. There are two types of tastings at Bell. There is a regular $15 tasting which is refunded if you buy a bottle (the cheapest bottle is only $12) and a $25 reserve tasting which is not refunded no matter what you buy. read more

Awesome winery and experience. Courtney our Bell host made the visit. The wine was also quite good. Was the best part of our Napa day.

What an amazing place along with amazing wines. John and Darren created a beautiful experience for us and we were last minute walk-ins.

Joanne at Bell Wine Cellars was amazing. She led our group through an intimate tasting and tour and made our trip to Napa absolutely perfect. The 2005 Cabernet is a treat and I can't wait to plan an entire meal around the bottle I brought home! read more

Great experience. Owners are hands on with the winery and it shows. Sandra gave us a great tour and wine education. Wine is very good - especially the Clone 6 cabs. read more

Best winery ever! I love this place! Clone 6 is a winner!

Beyond amazing!! The folks here were so friendly. Their bubbly is the best. The syrah was so delicious and reasonably priced. We loved the wine and cheese experience and it was one of the few wineries where all of us bought/shipped bottles home. They made my hubbys 50th birthday very special. read more

I am so happy I booked a grape to glass tour at Bell Wine Cellars! My boyfriend and I were greeted by John who went out of his way to make us feel like VIP's for the afternoon. John was extremely personable and we left feeling like we had made a new friend! The wines were out of this world and are now going to be some of my favorites that I will be bringing home. This was our favorite winery that we had gone to in Napa and Sonoma. I am already planning an order so I can enjoy these wines on the east coast! If you are in the area you should make the time to stop in and explore the wines that they have in the tasting rooms. (Reservations are required, but this is worth it!) read more
