I am a senior citizen and have a favorite pair of heels that I have worn for special occasions for many years. They were pretty worn out! With much searching, I found that all the new pairs were not as attractive or near as padded and comfortable and so I took my old pair to Bell Tower and had Vladimir make them over. He repaired the shoe bottoms, soles, heals and repaired the leather on the outside. They look new! My Fiancé's Dog chewed on the strap of my black pair of Birkenstock's. I was so mad because they were basically brand new. There were teeth marks and holes on the strap that hangs out of the buckle. I brought my shoe in and they placed a strip of leather over the ruined strap and you can't even tell the difference! I was so happy when I saw the work they did. I don't have a before picture but I do have an after picture and by the after picture you wouldn't have even been able to tell that there was anything wrong with them. Not like repair shops used to be... The proprietor does not want to try anything remotely creative to fix your treasured wares. He'd rather turn down business than give it a go. Odd business model, but I guess things have just changed when it comes to this sort of work. It's a throwaway culture now... everyone buys things new, and tosses out the stuff that's scuffed or torn. At any rate, I brought in a pair of furry "mukluk" slipper boots that needed new soles, and a pair of knee-high suede ladies boots with a small burst at the back of the heel. Al (or whomever the gentleman might be that was there that day) refused to work with either, and sent me packing. read more

I called to inquire if they could repair or replace the suede heel on my dance shoes. I was told yes. I drove 20 minutes to bring the shoes and was told that no they could not do what I needed and it would cost me $25 to have the heels replaced with leather which I do not think would even work. He pulled the heel piece off the shoe that was fine so now that one is probably going to be an issue. Really disappointed and a big waste of time. read more

Yuri and Vladimir standards are impeccable. I have been a very regular customer for awhile. I have a vision for what I want the outcome of my alterations to look like. They are always polite, but never afraid, to set me straight when my own vision is probably too obnoxious for the real world. I look far more respectable when I follow their lead. They understand fashion, what looks right, hangs right, etc. Last winter, I brought them a ladies' leather jacket. Sometimes I'm too rough on my belongings. I had ripped the sleeve from the back in the shoulder blade area. They were able to repair and reinforce the 6-7 inch tear. The jacket is still in great condition this winter. I have used this alterations shop for several things over the years and I have yet to be disappointed. I have had shoes repaired (heel tips put back on multiple times), watch batteries replaced, general repairs to clothes (hem, taken in, zipper repair) and it has all been completed in a timely manner and without issue. I even recommended this shop to my boyfriend to have a pair of shoes repaired and when they couldn't do it themselves recommended another shop that could. I consider this good customer service. The prices have always seemed affordable and in the same range as other shops I used to use. The only negative is that they do not accept credit/debit cards, only cash. They will accept a 50% deposit on work and then you pay the remainder at pickup. This is not so much of an inconvenience to me that I would stop using the shop. I just remember to pickup some cash before I go in. Overall I would recommend this shop to anyone needing shoe/clothes/watch repairs. read more
