The attention to detail and care they put into making sure the dress fit properly really stood out. The shop itself is welcoming and has a great selection of dresses and inspiration throughout the space. The fitting process was professional and comfortable, and I felt like they truly listened to what I wanted rather than simply making a quick adjustment. My dress now fits beautifully, and I feel so much more confident wearing it. Great workmanship, friendly service, and attention to detail--exactly what you want when trusting someone with an important dress. A plus is that value of the alternations was perfect. I highly recommend G&J Alterations if you need alterations for a special occasion. I'm so glad I found them!

I should have done a review for Ali's so much sooner, apologies to this fine establishment. My…read morewedding was in October of 2022 and in July of that year I went to Ali's to ensure my dress (which I bought online) was fitted the way it should be. I knew very little about how a gown should fit and what could be done to ensure there was no tripping over my own train, but was looking forward to talking to someone who knew what they were doing. I found Ali's right here on yelp and was impressed with the reviews. I messaged the business asking a few questions and Lana got back to me in under 2 hours. Very quick. I was put at ease with the responses (as well as the timeliness of their response) and set up an appointment. This was done by filling out an appointment form and again receiving a quick response where we verified a day/time that would work. During the initial appointment the seamstress I met with had me put on my dress and basically told me that it was fitted as well as it could have been already... it was hugging all the right spots and there were no glaring issues (lucky me!). The only thing I really needed, then, was to have the train bustled (meaning able to be pinned up) so that I could walk and dance and not have myself or others tripping on my dress. While bustling the dress would probably take the pro's at Ali's all of 20-30 minutes, they are a busy and professional place that ensures each customer is given the time and attention they deserve from the business, so every step of working with Ali's is scheduled. I handed over the extra button that came with the dress, and the seamstress set up a day and time for me to come pick it up again after the alteration was made. The work may have been minor, but it was impeccable. They ensured a small button held up several layers of very long and heavy fabric. I was very pleased with the work they did, the timeliness of their responses, and the attention they gave to a relatively small project. Thanks Ali. :) I will return for future alteration needs.

Went here to have some patches sewn on my leather vest. This was one of the only places in the area…read morethat I found that could do the work. It was about two weeks to have them sewn on and while they did ask me if it was ok to sew through the liner, they did sew through the liner and pockets rendering the inner left pocket unusable. I don't really use the pockets except maybe to put my phone in, but I would have thought that they wouldn't have done that. All in all I had 4 patches sewn on for $80. As you can see, one got sewn right through the inside pocket. I would have like to have been asked about that, but hindsight being 20/20, I guess if I need any more sewn, I'll let them know. This business seems to do a lot of alterations for wedding dresses, so I'm guessing not a lot of bikers are hitting them up to sew their cuts. Just be aware if that's something you need.

First off, the process they use is simple and efficient. I've never had to wait long in line to drop off my stuff, and they'll shoot you a text when it's ready for pickup. I similarly have never had to wait long to pick up my clothes. I've mostly been to Tatum Cleaners for button-up dress shirts and blazers. And once to clean a rug. The amount of time it takes them to take care of business is reasonable, and the prices are reasonable. I've never ran into any issues. That's the type of experience you look for at a dry cleaners.

It's been so frustrating trying to find a good place to fix my heels for a good price. While out and about today, my mom says "hey, wanna get your boots fixed?" As much as I love being heard walking from a mile away due to my clinking, I figured it was time to get them fixed. She calls Markel's and they say they can fix my boots -- but one slight problem -- I was wearing them. Well, we get to the shop, walk in, and I asked how quickly my boots could be fixed, since I was wearing them. I'm told to take a seat, give the gentleman my boots, and relax for a bit. The gentleman takes my shoes back, and -- kid you not -- fixed them and gave them back within 5 minutes! Not only was I amazed as his quick turnaround, but the quality of the work was superb! I am extremely pleased with Markel's! The quality of work, the quick turnaround, and pricing can't be beat (and believe me, I've tried to find a place to fix my heels at a reasonable price). I walked out absolutely impressed, and I promised I'd bring back ALL my heels; so if you need your shoes fixed, I highly suggest you go here before I do -- 'cause they will have their work cut out for them once I drop off all my shoes!
