My husband and I bpought a double yellow head amazon parrot and he is awesome. He has now been with us for a year and has bought joy and laughter into our home. This is the best tropical fish stores I have ever been to. The animals are taken care of and there are never sick fish on display or dead fish rotting away like in a lot of other mom pop shops. They carry a wide variety of exotic and common freshwater fish as well as an impressive collection of marine livestock. I have purchased many aquatic animals here for my plethora of aquariums and I have never had an issue with their health. The many rare species of inverts and exotics they carry are healthy and as a result are easy to acclimate to home setups. The prices are a steal for the quality of the aquatics they offer. They also sell many tame birds such as Cockatiels and Parrots which are healthy and show no signs of distress. Many of the parakeets sold are young so they are easily tame-able which is nice since they have many fancy colors at cheap prices. The staff are friendly and they accept credit cards with no added fees. read more

Went in looking for a small golf fish to replace my preschooler's fish that passed away. They're typically $.29 at Petco so when I saw them here for 10 x $1.00, I thought it was great. I just needed one but was charged $.50. When I asked why, they said it was to cover the cost of the bag and labor. Geez, I know times are tough but sometimes it's better to go to the bigger shops, like Petco, if it means paying more in smaller shops. read more

Not sure why this place is called a bird farm, it's mostly fish. And the birds they do have are cramped up in cages. I brought 3 cockatiels to get their nails trimmed, ended up letting them only do 1. The man grabbed the cockatiel with a towel and pinned it down on to the counter and used TOE NAIL CLIPPERS. I signaled at my sister to start walking out with our other birds. If you have birds that you groom often, take the trip to Fran's Exotic Birds in Cypress. It's worth the trip. All the staff there are knowledge and handle the birds with care. And the birds they have are cage free, to meet and greet with potential bird parents. That's how a bird store should be. read more

My home away from home. Thanks to Joe and Doris I have a deep love and huge knowledge of the saltwater hobby. I have been coming here for about 8 years. They have literally seen my kids grow and are a pair of sweet hearts! Anyways, they are very knowledgeable and are happy to share what they know with you if you ask. Unlike other places that don't care if the animals make the transition so long as they make a buck, Joe and Doris really do care! They will literally talk you out of buying something if they feel you aren't ready for it. When I first started the hobby they did it to me plenty. Weather it was an over crowded tank, fishes that may or may not get along or simply very difficult fish to acclimate for a beginner. Although it is a very narrow store but it is packedddd with amazing stuff. Selection for saltwater has included, queen, king, french, emperor, koran, blue face, flame, and a handful of other angels, unicorn, sohal, chevron, lieutenant, naso, purple, and all sorts of tangs, all sorts of triggers, corals, shrimps, crabs, sea horses, sharks, sting rays, and all the way down to damsels and pretty much everything in between. Build a relationship with them they can pretty much special order you just about anything you want. This place to me is literally a mini version of Long Beach's Aquarium of the pacific. Prices you cannot go wrong! There was a time I had to shop other places because a few years back there was a fire and Bell Bird Farm was closed for quite some time you definitely save money here. On a Friday morning there was line of 8 customers to get in at opening (great sign of a company's sucess with locals). Great selection of both tropical (fresh) and salt water fishes ... and the prices are very very reasonable. Though the place is small, the owner has all types of fish for the hobbyist to look over, savor and decide which combination to purchase. My father has been in the aquarium hobby since I could remember so now that I'm older it's only right to go in to the hobby myself. This is one of the few stores where I can say that I wasn't getting robbed on the way out. Everything is so much cheaper here than any other store that I've been to. I walked out with a zoanthid colony for $15 and a green cap montipora for $10! I would have paid double that in any other store. $19 for cleaner shrimp. Every where else they are $30! A purple tang for $100 when I haven't seen them anywhere else for less than $150. Again, the best prices out of all the LFS that I've been to. The tanks aren't the cleanest but that's why you quarantine fish and corals before you add them anyway. Will definitely be back soon for more corals. read more

Joe, the owner, is extremely knowledegable about all pets, feathery and finned, and asks about your pets each time you go in the store. The shelves are stocked, floor to ceiling, with every product imaginable for your furry, feathery, scaled, and finned friends. There are products here you won't see elsewhere, and the prices on everything are awesome. You will find fish you're not going to see many other places, and healthy, beautiful birds, including intensive red factor canaries. I have to admit, I'm tempted by a beautiful white face pearl cockatiel for my male who's started screaming (and doing some pretty embarrassing things). My very spoiled cockatiel (Rocky) swears by the spray millet (a bunch of sprays for only $4). As soon as I put a new spray in, he's on it quickly, munching happily. He has to have several sprays or he tends to scream until he does (yes, I'm a trained owner). I also got a BEAUTIFUL halfmoon male betta here, in the "mustard gas" coloring that can be hard to find. This sort of betta at other stores would've been $20 or more, but here, Khardal (Arabic for "mustard") was $3... the same price as my baby girl betta from Petco (her name is Sushi). read more

Their main focus is aquarium (salt and freshwater), rodents and reptiles, some cat/dog supplies, and of course, birds. The corals and fish are beautiful; the birds are healthy, well-cared-for and happy. They have budgies, canaries, cockatiels, doves, and, depending on the season, bigger parrots. My friend got an Amazon from here that grew up to be the sweetest, most prolific little talker with a wide vocabulary (which is not guaranteed in parrots). The owner is always present and very helpful. He is super knowledgeable and knows multiple languages. He offers to make special orders if he doesn't have something you need in stock. He also does quick and inexpensive bird grooming. Prices are fair or below average. You won't get ripped off here. Please, support this local, diverse business. My boyfriend and I visit this place at least twice a week. Joe has been a member of this community for at least 20 years, he can answer any question and can practically find you any fish you want. I bought my boyfriend a 75 gallon tank for $150 and he has about 15 discus ranging from 2" to 5" from white, turquoise, diamond blue, snake skin, and a yellow face melon. We have at least 4 angel fish, one very lucky glass fish, and 3 Bolivian ram fish. Joe (the owner) is really cool about trading fish and has medicine readily available. The store is very crammed together and animals are put a many quantities with very little space! Prices are decent but still kinda pricey for the quality of the animal. the staff is really really nice. the guy is patient and helps out when you need it. i went to this fish store because i was looking for coral and it has coral. i added a couple of pictures of it. sorry i didnt add more on other stuff but it has lots of fish both salt and freshwater, it also has brid and dog stuff. they have food and bulbs for your tank. i would go to this store more often. the prices for coral are cheap and its really nice coral. the reason for the 4 star rating was because although the guy looks like he knows his stuff, he made a mistake and sold me the wrong coral. im still deciding weather to keep the coral or take it back . other thank that, if your looking for coral around here then this is a good place to check out read more
