We're soooo glad we used them because my daughter passed her road test! We highly recommend them because: 1. Their website is very helpful in picking the package you prefer. 2. The gentleman who answered the phone was very helpful. 3. They will call for reminders. 4. They're accomodating (was able to pick up and drop off my daughter from her local college). 5. A friend recommended Bell Auto after I had tried to go through a different school, with which I had a bad admin experience. Bell is different - they are straight with what they offer, customer service and booking were excellent, and their policies are clear. Peter was my instructor and he was, in a word, outstanding. He was very encouraging, patient, and thorough with his teaching. Although I failed my first test due to my own negligence, Peter helped me work out my kinks and I passed on my 2nd try a week later. I would absolutely recommend him, as some others have here! I also want to specifically highlight how accommodating they were when it came to lesson pickups. Back when there was a Queens location at QCC for Bell Auto School, I attended in 2012 with Jean as my driving instructor. He was both patient and a fun teacher to train with. He knew which students were more comfortable than others on busier roads and used that knowledge within the routes that we took during the lessons. I passed my road test on the first try. Bell Auto School was just what my daughter needed. I highly recommend Lisa. She was able to teach her what she needed to know to pass the road test on her first attempt. So I needed my 5 hour defensive driving course in order to take my Road test .. the class was ok standard I guess but the room had absolutely no heat once so ever . It's 30 degrees outside and I was literally freezing in that room , everyone was . No one took there jackets or scarfs off . I think for the amount we each paid for the class we could have at least had heat ! I also didn't like that we got a lunch break with no stores near by and weren't notified with the email confirmation that we should bring lunch due to no lunch locations near by. Bill the teacher was nice , he's old school so not much is updated In his class , we watched a movie that was clearly based off the early 90's and a lot has changed since then but if you want to get your certificate and your in the area then it's the best class to take I suppose read more

Took several lessons with this school, and the instructor they sent me was a good teacher, taught me to become a better driver, and always on time; however, he was creepy as hell. Only complaint I have is that he once made a joke about abducting me with a straight face (okay, maybe he was kidding, but it was still super creepy), and then started talking to me about how he hacked into people's computers and wireless internet connections. Yeah...after that I was too creeped out to go back to him. I did end up failing the road test, due to a fault of my own, and I would go back to this school again, but this time, I'd request a different instructor. Well what can I say.. UGH!!! My daughters instructor Gary was amazing!!!.. but I cant say that for the general Manager! I called and signed up a for a package with 10 lesions, 5 hour course and road test.. the woman told me over the phone that its one price and told me what it was, I paid for it, well after 5 glasses I am calling the school and wondering where the driver is so my daughter could drive and the manager tells me oh its only 5 lesion, what no when i called I got a package of 10 lesions. He said if i wanted 10 lesion i have to pay more, what?? no i was told something else. . the manager was getting rude and was telling me you must pay more, look on web site, you must pay more and getting pretty nasty! saying I must pay extra now! then he said I only owe you a 5 hour course and a car for the road test nothing else! NO I was told it does not matter 5 or 10 lesion that its the same package price. I asked him to ask the woman who scheduled and the instructor about it because we are all on the same page he told me NO its a he said she said.. and he has no time.. HMMMM something is not right here. I asked to speak to the owner he then told me NO he is in Florida and not reachable, and I am the manage you don't get anyone higher than me.. I took the 5-hour class, one driving lesson and had them schedule my road test with the DMV. Easiest experience of my life. The 5-hour class wasn't boring, and the instructor tried to keep it interesting with informational power-points and videos. The one class I took helped me to pass my road test, I truly believe I wouldn't have passed otherwise. The instructor, Daniel Wilke, taught me how to parallel park and do a perfect 3-point turn in the span of 45 minutes. All I want to do is schedule two sessions per week over the course of one month, June, so my daughter can prepare for and take her road test while she's home from college. And I got a ten minute run-around about how they book their lessons out months in advance, but they don't know the availability from week to week and cannot possibly commit to the same and/or time each week for lessons. So I asked the guy, "if you book your lessons out months in advance, why wouldn't you know what your availability is?" And he responded by smugly stating that as he explained before, they have random availability. He asked multiple times when my daughter was home from college, I gave him the dates which amounted to a five week period, and he continued to state that there wasn't enough time in the three and a half weeks to accommodate ten lessons. I didn't want to argue the math with him as I was already getting irritated, so I just said, okay what about 8 lessons over 4 weeks? And he reiterated that I should enroll my daughter and then we can work out a schedule. Why would I pay close to $800 for driving lessons without knowing if they can accommodate a VERY FLEXIBLE schedule? The entire conversation was exhausting. read more

Chris worked with both of my twins to prepare for their road tests. He was effective and safe. He taught them well.

I had Gordon as my private instructor and he was horrible. First off, he is very inpatient. Once he explains something, he expects you to perfect it within the next five minutes. He does not put into factor that some people are just slower learners. Second of all, if you make a mistake, he yells at you. Not in a constructive criticism kind of way, I mean he literally screams at you. Third of all, he's very lazy. We drove the same road every time and never got onto main roads. This hurt me during my road test because my road test was on main roads. Fourth, he honestly just cares about the money. He doesn't put any effort. Even when I told him that I wanted to practice lane changes, I never got the chance to practice it. Bell Auto isn't a bad place to learn to drive. I've seen great reviews and believe that Bell Auto can help you pass your road test. But if you end up with Gordon, then I suggest you ask for someone else because you're wasting time and money with h Update: I passed with Peter. Amazing guy, super patient and taught me everything. I had Roy as my instructor and he was horrible. Out of five lessons, he only arrived to one on time; two of the lessons he did not show up at the scheduled time and I had to call the school to find out that he rescheduled me for a completely different time (when I was not available) without telling me. He made me so incredibly uncomfortable every time I was in the car with him. He even went so far as to grab my shoulder during a lesson, which crossed every professional boundary. He always forgot my name in the during lessons, would become very rude and mock me when I would answer a question that he asked. When I asked to turn on the air conditioning, he claimed to be a "specialist in anxiety." He would not say hello when I approached the car he would stand and stare at me for a few moments at the driver's side door. He provided next to no instruction to me, would only say comments such as "do you really think this is a good idea" as I practiced parallel parking, never once hitting the curb. If Roy is your instructor SWITCH IMMEDIATELY, especially if you are female. He is condescending and one of the most uncomfortable people I have been around and taught me nothing. Everything I learned from driving I learned from my parents and I cannot believe I wasted money with this school. read more
