I am sorry to say that John and this school has got to rank as one of the worst driving schools ever. I purchased a package of ten lessons and honestly it was awful. Worst of all, was John's attitude. He's a nice guy but IMO doesn't strike me as the most intelligent. Be that as it may all I ever got from him was uncertainty "Gee, I'm trying to patient with you"--relax John, you are. That's not even the worst of it, the worst of it was his whole philosophy: "Let me tell you something if during a road test the instructor has to hit that brake that means you failed"--yeah, haven't you ever heard of the old saying "if at first you don't succeed, try again"? "Let me tell you something: driving is a privilege not a right"--Oh yeah? Tell that to all those maniacs in New York City who drive recklessly and shouldn't be driving; there's some who don't even have a license or it's suspended. You might want to lecture them before you start lecturing me. Here's a kicker "Expressway driving you gotta be ready for it. Let me tell you something, that Jackie Robinson Parkway..." Excuse me John, my father has driven numerous times on the Jackie including back when it was called the Interborough; is it a picnic? No but cut crap: it's not this big boogie man like you're making it out to be. It's learnable and it's doble. Period Now remember how I told you that I took a total of ten lessons? Well John had a "genius" idea: let's give you a practice road test on the 10th lesson so that you're ready for the real one. Of course I didn't do well on it because what this moron SHOULD have done was give me mock test on the 3rd or 4th lesson (the 5th the latest) and then evaluate where we need work and go from there AND THEN if you want to give another practice road test on the 10th lesson to determine if I should attempt a road test or not that makes much more sense. Sorry folks, they hire people with low intellect like John. Not sure if he's still there. I would stay away if I were you!

Scheduled a lesson, got a confirmation email listing time/date/pickup location. Get a phone call the night before saying I need to meet at the office instead of pickup. Call the office the next morning to double check this info, and I'm told that the time is actually wrong on email confirmation, and that the instructor would be on his way to pickup. Instructor calls at "new time" saying that we were supposed to meet at the office, despite what person in office had said. At this point, there's no way we are dealing with this school if they can't get basic appointment info straight. Waiting on a refund.

Unfortunately, I was cancelled on 4 times, my driving lesson appointments were changed at the last minute 3 times. After a last minute cancellation because my teacher "didn't want to be late to someone else's road test," I quit. My money is worth the same as the money another student pays. It is not my fault that the company does not know how to schedule lessons with other stuedents to avoid conflicts. Their attitude is unprofessonal and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Jai is mature beyond his years and has the uncanny ability to make you feel comfortable and relaxed around the steering wheel. That's a gift in itself. That effect wasn't lost on me because I suffer from high anxiety when driving is involved. He's dependable and shows up on time. Every member of my household have been students and are now licensed drivers of Rank's driving school. Needless to say...that now includes me! Make no mistake about what you'll be signing up for. She will be there when you need her! They were able to accommodate towards my preferences and assigned me to an English speaking instructor, Jason. He was super patient, nice, and informative. He will help correct your mistakes and help you practice for the road test. Was on time with his lessons and helped me overcome my fear of driving. Not to mention, the prices are super competitive. I don't think I have seen a place offer as cheap packages as this place. They are located in on the second floor of a small stall across the Flushing Library.

They're unprofessional and extremely hard to work with. Joyce is the sole person scheduling things, and she is horrible at her job. They do not give you your 5-hour cert. They hold on to it, so you can only schedule your road test through them, and you cannot schedule it yourself. They add on months of wait time, as opposed to 1-2 months if you scheduled it yourself. I paid around 1k for 10 lessons, which turned out to actually be five 90-minute lessons. Very misleading!! I have had 2 instructors from them. The first one, Jason, was unreachable after 2 lessons, for some reason. He was okay at his job, not super motivating, but did what he needed to do. Joyce offered to switch instructors for the rest of my lessons, and oh my god. My second instructor, Johnm, was so unprofessional and mean. He NEVER gave me positive feedback, only mumbling about how horrible I was at each and every turn. He was smoking cigarettes before and after every lesson, which isn't necessarily a problem, but very unprofessional to do in front of the client and made the car smell. One time, he cut one of my lessons early cause he wanted a car wash. We got out of the car, and he lit up a cigarette as I just awkwardly watched the car go through. I could not believe this was the lesson I paid for. I did not even end up finishing my course with them, because every lesson felt like a humiliation ritual. I couldn't even get a hold of my 5 hr cert, so I started over at another driving school and passed my test on my first try with a perfect score.
