Just passed my road test at Kissena Park and it's 10000% all thanks to my amazing instructor Kenny. I took the road test one other time 3 years ago when I went to a different driving school with a not so good instructor that gave zero feedback. I knew I wasn't prepared and failed. I looked for a better driving school and found No.1 where comments were flooded with great recommendations for instructors here. I chose Kenny and I would recommend him to anyone else too! He is extremely hard working, sets you up against his own standards only to benefit you and make sure you pass the road test standards. He gives great pointers that'll ensure your get yourself parallel parking right every time, make your turns super smooth and will always be nice and honest with his comments. Make sure you take into account his feedback and really memorize them and put them into place! It's nothing but beneficial! Prices at the school are really fair though scheduling would be the difficult part as Joyce, isn't always there to pick up the phone for non Chinese speakers. Keep calling and they'll eventually get it sorted out for you!

My previous instructor at this school was very impatient. Every time I made a mistake he would get annoyed and raise his voice at me. After having three lessons with him, I asked the school to switch my instructor to Kenny and I'm so glad that I did! Kenny is patient and truly wants his students to do well. I had developed some bad driving habits but he was able to help me fix and correct them after a few lessons. He gave a lot of helpful tips and explained thoroughly the different types of turns, parallel parking, and 3-point turn. I tend to get anxious while driving but he helped me build up my confidence so I can overcome it! His feedbacks were honest, helpful, and nice. I passed my road test in one try all thanks to him

i can finally say..... i can drive now! i failed a few years back i believe because i was WAYYYYYYY too nervous (palms sweaty, sweating like a rainfall.. you know the deal) come present day 2020. i have a renewed determination because my permit was yet again expiring so i wanted so badly to pass. i researched for flushing's driving schools and after calling multiple sources to check package bundles and pricing, i settled on this one because it was the cheapest. (pic attached) i paid and wasnt given the ability to get specific instructors (i didnt mind who i was gonna get) BUT like many reviewers here have commented on, i got one of the multilingual instructors, KENNY. i bought the 16 lesson package and learned for a straight month. saved the last lesson for the morning of test. kenny was an absolute trooper. i told him my experience that i failed with the last school and that im starting fresh (which he didnt expect) but with his guidance, i was able to understand the things i was doing wrong. IMO, hes a perfectionist but gave constructive feedback on each driving test portion (Left, Right, U turn, pull over, parallel park). he believed in me when there were moments where i absolutely just did not get it like knowing when to stop for parallel parking, but he was patient and believed in my potential. hes also good because he verbally tells you what the "schedule" of lessons should be IN A BIRDS EYE VIEW WAY. so say in a 16 lesson aka 9 lesson deal, it goes from understanding the signs, basics of turning (when, what, how) to fine tuning those turns to learning U turn then Pull over then parallel parking. for alot of people, test taking is just that but for me, it is a nerve wracking pile of fears. a big part of what helped me to pass the test was also confidence and being relaxed. i know i could do the actual steps if not for the test proctor asking me to do it but knowing that the only thing that mattered was those 10 mins was the scary part. you will see 15+ cars all testing probably in groups of 4-6. dont be afraid of big buses coming your way when doing ur road test, just make room for them (keep right). joyce, the lady who will probably be the person you talk to when paying for your package or scheduling will call if any issues arise. they have TONS of students so if you have trouble calling them, id say to go to their office if its not that much of a burden. all in all, my success is due to kenny. i dont think i would have gained this "confidence" if he was not able to break down the schematics of each test portion.

My review is tailored towards 2 people who made it happen; Joyce &kenny. Joyce is the scheduler, and she was always curt to respond- when there were times when I had to reschedule, or miscommunication, she was usually the one to help! (Just a heads up, their scheduling system is outdated where they use a pen and notebook to schedule everything). Kenny was my instructor and he was always calm and patient during lessons. He knows mando, canto, and English fluently! Besides this, he tried to answer all my questions throughly and analytically, in a way that made sense to an elementary driver. && also, I passed on the first try :) thank you to those two who made my first driving experiences comfortable. Finally certified to be behind the wheel!

I was referred this school by my friend and he told me to choose Kenny as a instructor and i'm so glad I did it . I passed my first Road test after taking 2 class with Kenny. He is so patient and have a great tips for parallel parking , 3 point turn and everything I need to pass the test) I basically know how to drive I was drove in another country about 3 years but on the other side so I feel almost the same driving on the left side in NYC. Kenny has a great observation he can tell you right away what problem you need to fix about your driving to pass the test also to drive in a real life He also teach you how to drive safety and be a good driver . I'm appreciated and he will make sure I'll pass the test (I feel like he want me to pass more than I expected myself ) so overall highly recommend Kenny as a instructor and this school has amazing price!! compare to others school that super pricey if you want to register the class just go to theirs office it's easier than call (i'm not a Chinese speaker we will still can communicated so don't worry about this part you'll be fine especially Kenny he's super good in English so don't worry) and I was told them what's my available for a schedule and they did scheduled the class the day I request. thank you!! (Ps. Just forgot to take a picture with Kenny due to I'm still excited with passed my test so I don't think about anything else lol )

I rarely write reviews but I had to do Kenny some justice. He's absolutely amazing, I finally was able to pass thanks to him. Trust me, coming from someone who have absolutely no idea how to drive, Kenny is your best bet. I have so much trouble with turning but Kenny gave me so much advice that I got no points taken off for the 3 main things I was tested on. He even had these whiteboard to draw out the road for me bc sometimes I have trouble understanding the turning part. With the school itself, they only accept cash so that's a head up I was so caught off guard but thankfully they have some big bank around that area. Joyce was very accommodating with my constant schedule change due to school. I would say to avoid calling and leave them a text instead if it's not too urgent, they will get back at some point. If it's urgent, I would say you have better luck visiting their office instead of calling. At first, I was so skeptical because the price was so cheap but I'm glad I went there or else I don't think I would've passed.

My 4th road test!! I was able to pass after 5 lessons with Kenny.

Kenny is an incredible driving instructor! I transferred from other driving school and Kenny was able to take me in. I have developed a lot of bad driving habits and he was so patient in helping me fix my mistakes. I have taken 3 road tests with another driving schools and failed miserably. And after taking lessons with Kenny, I was able to pass easily. You can see in the pictures how many mistakes I was making previously and after 5 lessons with Kenny I was able to fix all that. He truly cares about his students and want you to pass. He is so acknowledgeable and teaches you the practical ways to drive in any situation. He also does amazing job noting your mistakes and bad habits, so you can learn how to drive safely and correctly. I'm so lucky to have found him as a driving instructor.

Highly recommend Coach Jerry! He is very friendly and patient, He is fluent in English and Mandarin as well. I would like to say that I am very grateful to had Jerry as my coach,an excellent knowledgeable coach, and I am so excited when I passed my drive license exam!

Thank you Jason!!! Passed on my first try

My driving instructor, Frank Dao, is hands down the best instructor I have ever had. After going through multiple instructors at another driving school who never took the time to explain my weaknesses or how to improve, working with Frank was a game changer. He clearly explains mistakes, makes sure you understand how to correct them, and gives detailed, practical tips for everything, from mastering turns to parallel parking. Thanks to Gold Success and Frank's incredible instruction, I passed my road test, and I am truly grateful. I couldn't recommend them more!

If you carefully follow and study his instructions, you will be well-prepared. I was extremely nervous throughout the process and honestly did not think I would pass but I did, all thanks to Frank (especially after failing my first road test 10 years ago). The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because my first assigned instructor was very unprofessional and did not take the lesson seriously. At the end of the lesson, he even asked if he could call me, which felt inappropriate and left me with nothing learned. I contacted the receptionist, explained the situation, and asked to be reassigned, which is when I was paired with Frank. While I was grateful for the switch, I do feel the school should have provided me with a makeup lesson since my first one was a complete waste of time. That said, I'm very glad that with only 4 lessons, I was able to absorb enough from Frank to pass my test. I do believe that if I had been given a proper makeup lesson with him, I might have finished with fewer points deducted.

She and four other her 4 friends passed on the first try too. Their instructor was Eric but my instructor was David. I'm from a country that uses UK systems. We drive on the left lane. The driver on the right side of the car. I have never driven a car in my country but I rode a bicycle and motorcycle when I was there. I was a little bit confused with the lane when I first rode the bicycle here but now I have been riding a bicycle in the summer every year for 5 years already so I wasn't confused with the lane when I was learning how to drive a car. I registered for 5 sessions and 2 road tests. It's not too short and not too long for me. I got 10 points from too slow a turn cuz the day that I took the road test it was raining and I didn't want to drive fast but I forgot to check the speed. lol David has been an instructor for 11 years. He is kind, friendly, calm, observant, encouraging and patient. He can repeat his words more than 20 times without feeling moody. :) The important thing is that he remembers my improvement. In the 4th session I drove the car not even 5 minutes. He asked me, "Did you practice with another car?" (He knows it. I thought) Right before the 4th session I rented the car and practiced with my friend and checked around the area that I have to do the road test. The difference between practicing with my friend and David is that my friend doesn't know that I did the right thing or I did not, such as before changing lanes or turning right, my friend can not tell me that I checked blind spot or checked and waited for pedestrians on the street corner but David knows.  My friend didn't observe me. I like checking around, I mean checking the mirror when I drive. I check the rearview mirror and the left mirror to see who follows and wants to pass me or the right mirror that I drive too close on the right side, I do it by automatic like I ride a motorcycle. David said "It's nice to check around" (He knows it. I thought). David makes me feel confident enough to drive with other cars cuz he always tells me what situations that I did right and what situations that I did wrong or shouldn't do. Before the 5th session me and my friends rented the car and drove to Montauk. It was the first time that I drove on the highway (I drove form exit 53 to Montauk and drove back from Montauk to Elmhurst,Queens) it was fun. The staff were very nice and helpful. They helped me to arrange my classes schedule when my instructor was out of the city. They know which day and period of time is very nice and easy to pass the road test. That's amazing.

My first time learning to drive I went to them because I had no one else to help. I thought as a beginner it would be good to take around 7 lessons to see how it goes, and space them out once a week before the driver's exam, which I learned would be about 2 months away. This was a bad idea to take lessons so spaced out. But I did not know better and nor was I told. but the main problem was the fact that the instructor was terrible(Vincente/Vincent). friendly for the most part, but very inept at teaching. my first day there he just had me sit in the car and told me to drive. I was confused and scared. And he looked at me and said verbatim, "you never driven before"? Yea I've literally never driven before , that's why I'm here. But I digress. 6 out of 7 of the lessons were just driving around. he didn't teach parking or 3 point turns for 6 lessons, so I was forced to buy 2 more a week before the exam. On the 6th lessons I mentioned it to him and he told me next week he will teach it to me... He would also be o his phone a lot while he taught. While he did teach me okay techniques for parking and 3 point turn afterwards. there was a lot I've come to realize with a new school I signed up with that he didn't teach me. And because he didn't instruct me on what I would consider fundamentals now, I failed my first exam. As I recall he would tell me I'm turning to wide and I need to handle the wheel better, but he would never instruct me how to do these things. How to prevent making wide turns and how to handle the wheel better. And as a beginner you just trust the teachers judgement while doing your best. on the exam day I had one more lesson, and the instructor had another girl ride in the back seat while I was taking my last lesson. Which in itself was nerve racking as he admonished me during hurried parking exercises which were very impractical and sporadic. He would have me pull in and out of parking spaces along the same street with little warning. Afterwards we drove to the testing site, and I was a nervous wreck. long story short, I failed that day. There were two more girls there with me who took the exam who had vincent as a instructor, one passed, but it was her second time taking it too. so she failed before, and the other girl failed as well . And I learned in my earlier lessons that there was another girl who failed 3 times with the same instructor. So I might be wrong but I think the problem is the instructor. After I failed vincent looked at me with a smirk and asked what happened as though it was a joke. and while looking away just whimsically mentioned we will begin practicing again. Which would not be the case. I switched to a different school about a month after this disaster. the teachers were so much better and mind you I just wanted a fresh reset on being taught everything I already learned. they taught me to prevent making wide turns aim to turn into the center of the lane that you want to end up in. they taught me two methods of parking and 3 point turns on the first and second day. They taught me about paying attention to what kind of lanes I'm turning into to make sure I'm driving center in the correct lane. They taught me to pay attention to signs lights, pedestrians, and to not be mentally and physically rushed by other more impatient drivers, but instead to pay attention to the instructions being given while being aware of those who might cause accidents. I'm taking the exam soon, and hope I pass, but at this point it's up to me. I feel more prepared than I did with the other school. I'm not advertising for the school I'm at now, that's why I'm not stating their name unless someone wants to as me specifically. I'm just giving my outlook and experience as a first time driver. but i highly do not recommend this school. take care
