Coming from the South Bronx all the way here was worth every penny. I didn't want to learn in the BX because the instructors aren't as friendly and traffic is ridiculous. The instructor in this school was very informative and friendly. Despite covid taking over and not practicing with them since March 2020, I manage to take two class before the test and passed. What a fantastic team! The entire crew at Superior is amazing! They are friendly, efficient, patient, and skilled! Everything went so smoothly from the first phone call inquiry to the 5 hour class to the driving lessons! They were really helpful and supportive and I cannot recommend their programs highly enough! Thank You Superior! read more

I waited to take my test for many years because i've always been a nervous wreck in a car. And I'm beyond ecstatic to share that I passed my test on my first try!!! Without the supportive and patient teachings of Mr. Adolfo i didn't believe i would have passed in my first try. His easy going manner, supportive comments, encouraging advice made me super at ease. Arranging classes and rescheduling process was always a breeze. The entire team of staff are super helpful and respond immediately. Highly recommend especially for first time students!! read more

This is an EXCELLENT Driving School in all aspects - 1) Very Nice Staff 2) Great, Detailed and Patient Instructors (Kent & Ublal) 3) Price, Price, Price (very fair, not over the top like most local Queens driving schools). Highly recommended. read more

I already had experience driving so I came to this driving school just to prepare for the drivers test and refresh my mind a little bit. But, the five hour class instructor was so friendly and explained everything in an interesting way. And Adolfo the driving instructor helped calm my nerves about the driver's test and was very informative when teaching me to park and explaining the rules of the test. Everything was super easy: rescheduling lessons, getting in touch with them, and prices were reasonable! Overall highly recommend this driving school. And btw I passed my driver's test on the first try :) read more

Don't waste your money, very unprofessional. First time I called, the weekday girl "was" nice when I was asking about their bundles. Second time I called to know when I can come in and how the schedule looks like, the weekend lady was annoying. She asks you what days you are free and you say which ones, she can't understand then you have to specify, but then if it's full she just says "oh we have nothing available for that day" and then offers NO suggestion whatsoever. You have to carry the conversation. Will get you frustrated, trust me. Bad customer service. It gets worse with this weekend lady, I come in and pay, they don't take card and I had only some cash so she said it's okay just bring the rest of the cash on the first day of the class. We agreed. Then, she says ok let's schedule your classes. She does the same exact thing she does on the phone: asks what days you are free, you say every monday, then she asks what days again! So you have to say the date for the upcoming monday if you want to do that! Then if it's unavailable she just says oh it's booked. Then awkward silence. So you have to carry the conversation with them, def do not give a shit about you. Fast forward, we spent at least 45 minutes scheduling my classes AND I WAS STANDING THE WHOLE TIME!! I was not offered no seat no water, nothing. So that was a whole red flag. But you know what, I was like ok it's whatever let me just get it over with. Fast forward, I take my first class. Guy was nice. But at the end of the class, he just gets out the car and does NOT tell me we have ended. No "see you next time ok?" Or "ok, our session is done" he just goes on to say hi to other coworkers with no regard of his customer. Then, after first class, a week later: I wake up to email notifications saying my classes got cancelled. NOBODY CALLED ME TO INFORM WHY THEY WERE DOING WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND MY TIME STANDING FOR 45 MINUTES DEALING WITH THE WEEKEND LADY WHO WAS VERY FRUSTRATING WAS WASTED. I call right away, first time the phone got picked up somebody laughed and dropped the call. Then, second time I called, it was the weekday girl that picked up and I did not have to explain what my situation was she knew who I was but did not explain anything at all. Then, I decided I was done. Fucking ridiculous. Very unprofessional. I come in, weekday girl was there. No thorough explanation. You have to know what questions to ask or you're losing information. Overall, will not recommend. I told EVERYONE i know not to take their classes there. Do fucking better. read more

I had taken driving classes from Adolfo. He is very knowledgeable and eased my nerves about driving. Due to procrastination my permit expired and had to restart the process all over again. Due to covid I completely understand there is limitations and new regulations but the lady who I asked about packages and the 5 hour class was sooooo RUDE and discouraging. I understand there is wait list but learn some customer service ! read more

Came in today and brought one of the package deals. First step is to have the 5 hour certificate course; the man teaching the class was great and really did care about safe driving. Unlike other places, he spoke to us and made the class participate, which was great. I'm only giving the place 4 stars because so far I've only had the class, I still need to see how the driving lessons go and how competent the instructor is. Adolfo is amazing! he patient and has the best tips and advise. I passed my road test and I'm super happy that i had him as my instructor! read more

I will only trust Adolfo's driving lessons. He thought me how to drive 20+ years ago and I passed, he thought my oldest 7 years ago and she passed, then my middle one 3 years ago and now he is going to teach my youngest and I am pretty sure she will passed too! She passed too! read more

My instructor oublal is such an awesome person!!! Really helps you all the way and truly cares.I passed the test on the first try! Only con is you have to triple check that your appointment is the same appointment you scheduled in the first time. Had a few issues with the time and place with my appointments, really just lack of communication with the people who set up your appointments. Thanks a lot!!! read more

Do you realize what happens when a business spends less on rent? It passes the savings to the customer. I loved taking lessons with Adolfo, you need to work with him as he's working with you. I passed my test on my first try, the pre-test practices definitely help. If you're upset about anything with this place, it's because you're upset you didn't pass your exam. My sisters and I got our classes here and passed and so have a few of our friends, I would recommend this school any day of the week. read more

Wow.. Disregard the bad reviews! I worked with so many instructors here due to my crazy schedule, and each of them are very insightful and experienced in different ways. My best friend had Adolfo and she said he's super patient and offers many techniques to see which one you're more comfortable with. I took most of my classes with Oublal and he's awesome! He's really descriptive and will drill your weaknesses in until they become strengths. Thanks again Oublal !! Also Janet, their receptionist is the sweetest aunt-like figure in the office. She's very helpful with accommodating the craziest schedules and is so encouraging. Don't hesitate, just go, I passed on my FIRST try! :D read more

What the hell? 1 star? Shady business? I mean, sure the place is a little dingy, but aren't all driving schools like that? Fuck that. This place is awesome. The instructors are super patient and give really helpful feedback. I passed my first time taking the test and I only had 3 classes. I also find it a little cheaper than some of the places nearby. Ask for Adolfo! Don't be mad 'cause you failed the test, homie. read more

The receptionist was very friendly and was managing multiple phone lines while trying to assist me with any inquiries all by herself. The office is not that big but it's still clean and fresh. They had 3 packages averaging prices from 270, 450, 550. Each package comes with more or less lessons depending on the price, 5-hour pre lisencing class and road test/car rental. I had my 5 hour class the day of my registration, in a group of 8 other students we were educated by Abdul who was very educational, informative, and definitely passionate about safe and defensive driving. You can really tell he waa genuine about the safety of our driving to better the future. +1 star after I pass road test! Let's see how the lessons are! #passedmyroadtest read more

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Superior Driving School, but more specifically with my instructor Adolfo. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and knew exactly how to help me pass the road test. I had taken 10 lessons with a competing school in Queens a year prior and went into my first exam barely knowing how to parallel park and (not surprisingly) did not pass. I was discouraged and let significant time pass before picking up driving again. I'm so glad I moved to this school as Adolfo helped me regain my confidence, always made sure he was the instructor that was scheduled on my planned lesson dates, and took me out one on one to the road test so I could practice beforehand. Any new, anxious driver should look no further than Superior. Truly a great experience - thank you all so much! read more

Firstly, Adolfo is THE best. He was so patient with me and made sure to point out all of the areas where I needed work on with my driving. During my lessons Adolfo had toy cars to visually instruct me on how to parallel park, do a 3 point turn, etc., and it really helped. I took my road test today and PASSED! I just happened to stumble upon this little diamond in the rough when I was looking through yelp and definitely recommend this driving school hands down. My husband will definitely be going to Adolfo for a lesson or two before he takes his road test. Thanks Adolfo!!!! read more

Great driving school, excellent instructors and staff. Passed my driving test yesterday if I can do it so can you! I definitely recommend instructor Adolfo, he is very helpful great teaching method! Thank you so much superior driving school :) read more

I do not write reviews but I hope that my experience at this place help everyone including how this facility is been managed. I had my first driving lesson and road test already scheduled and a day before I received a call cancelling my lesson because the instructor was sick. At that point, I could not make it to my road test without a lesson and I will lose a day of work . Somehow I understood that it was an emergency and it happens especially now. After I failed my road test, I immediately made another road test appointment with the front desk receptionist for the next month (since appointments are far out). I received two text messages one to confirm my road test date, which I replied and then the other one was sent one or two weeks after, which said the road test date and to come in to the office to make the payment. Therefore, I went to the office and to my surprise the receptionist did not find my appointment and she said that it was a mistake from the other two receptionists and she will find out what happened and will email the DMV as well. I am very upset because I will be losing a day of work and probably wait 5 more weeks until the next appointment. They must do something about it and accommodate me for the day I scheduled. People's time is valuable read more

Having no prior experiencing with driving what so ever, I really took my time to research what school was best for me and that's when I came across this school. I looked at their prices and they seemed reasonable. I proceeded to go into the office and book the 11 class package which are 45 minutes each. In the beginning, I was specific and said I wanted no more than 2 different instructors. I also specifically requested Adolfo due to his positive reviews on here. At first, I did take my classes with Adolfo. However, after my third class his schedule didn't seem to work with mine or he was always fully book. It's also important to note that you don't book your classes with the instructors, you have to call the office book it directly with one of the receptionist. Unfortunately, this is how issues began... The only reason I'm giving this school 4 stars out of 5 is because of their receptionist, Janet. She's a nice lady, however, she makes WAY too many mistakes! There were so many mistakes made with my classes that I honestly lost count. I remember speaking to her on the phone once trying to schedule my classes and I SPECIFICALLY remember confirming a specific day with her and us agreeing on it. However, when the day came along I waited outside and no one showed up. I decided to call and of course, Janet answered. I told her the problem and she began to act like we never agreed on that day. Even though I remember and jotted that day down on my calendar. After me getting upset and going back and forth with her, she did end up apologizing, but continued to make mistakes... There was also an occasion where she made a mistake with my address and I ended up waiting outside for over 25 minutes for my instructor to arrive... Can you guys see how stressful this was? If you're booking your classes I would definitely recommend speaking to one of the other young ladies available... Their communication skills exceed far more. Also, I had a total of 5 different instructors throughout my experience here. I took classes with Adolfo, Edgar, Ken, George and Victor. It's important to note that I also paid for 2 extra classes voluntarily because I felt like I needed more practice). One good thing about this was that I was able to learn many things from each one. BUT, I didn't like how I was constantly driving different cars and being told different things... however, I would like to address how WONDERFUL VICTOR & EDGAR were! I only took 2 classes with each one, but I immediately felt their vibe and noticed how knowledgeable and awesome they were! They made me feel comfortable and didn't reprimand me for my mistakes, but instead gave me advice on how to fix them. If you've going to take classes here I would DEFINITELY recommend them both! They're sweethearts! Now, moving onto the day of my test. Adolfo drove me and another young lady the the location. He also allowed me to practice for 5 minutes prior to arriving to the location which was awesome! I took my test in the Whitestone location. At first, I was worried because the streets are narrow, but now I completely think it was the best choice for me. It's a calm residential area and I believe that's what helped me PASS! I was so happy I passed! It's definitely a big accomplish for me. All in all, I would recommend this school. But, just make sure to call and double check with a receptionist that classes you've schedule are correct. Also, I would recommend taking your classes with either Victor or Edgar! read more

I took driving lessons and rented a car for my exam. I passed and am really grateful to my instructors for everything they taught me. Edgar and Adolfo were my instructors and they helped me out a lot. Edgar even gave me a mock road test right before the exam even though I didn't have a lesson slotted for the time before the exam. Would highly recommend the school. I would just advise you to make sure you know what time and where the lesson is before the lesson. Office is not open on Sundays. read more

I had a great experience with Superior Driving School! The people working at the desk are very helpful, great with scheduling, and always remind you of your upcoming lessons. My instructor was Adolfo who is absolutely amazing - super patient and knowledgeable. If you make any mistakes, he corrects you immediately but in a kind way. I was a nervous driver but Adolfo helped me to get over that fear and concentrate. Passed my road test on my first try! Huge thanks to Adolfo - highly recommended!! read more

I felt it was easy to ask questions to to the receptionist about the 5 hour class and booking a road test. Staff is kind and respectful. The 5 hour class by Abdul in my opinion was great. He really did a great job at keeping the class motivated and fun when these things can be "boring". One thing I learned, once you get comfortable driving, always remember how you drove on your 1st day on the road. Thanks Abdul and Superior Driving School! read more

Edgar was awesome. I took the test once 7 years ago and just didn't bother scheduling it again. After driving all these years I needed to brush up my skills for better test taking. Edgar was perfect. He was patient, explained things in a way that sticks in your head, and was very pleasant. I'll be referring my siblings to him as well when it's time for them to take the test. If it weren't for him, I'd probably have failed again. Would highly recommend everyone take their lessons with him. Wish he was my instructor 8 years ago. read more

SUPERIOR DRIVING SCHOOL - Driving Schools Near Me - Woodside, New York

I'm giving Superior Driving School a 5-star because the staffs there act professionally and all the instructors I had were very patient and always talk about safety. I just passed my road test today and I owe that to this school. I'm a 32 year old guy who never had any experience driving. Superior gave me the confidence I needed to pass that road test. I took the Beginner's Class since I didn't have any experience behind the wheel, and in those classes, I had 3 different instructors. First of all, I want to give thanks to Ublal, who was really patient to me. I'd say, he's the main guy for me coz I learned most of my driving skills from him. He loves to talk about almost everything, so driving wasn't boring. I'd say he's very professional, and a very nice guy. Secondly, thanks to Oscar, I only had a couple of driving lesson with him, but this guy is so calm and he mixes humor while teaching me. This guy is so professional. And last but not least, Adolfo, the owner. A person who's very mild-mannered. This guy is so professional and treats all people with respect. I could just tell by his demeanor when he drove me to the road test site and after passing my road test. He's very nice. I cannot think of any negative in this school. They took care of me, driving-wise, as if they're your brother. I highly recommend Superior Driving School to those people who never had any experience or even people who just need to brush up their driving skills. The instructors are nice, patient, professional, and most importantly respectful. read more

After reading the reviews on yelp and speaking with few of my friends who took the lesson from this school in the past, I called to schedule for the lesson. I have some driving experience in the past but wasn't a confident driver. I had an opportunity to have Adolfo as my instructor. Whether you are an amateur or have some driving experience, he is the right instructor for you. He is calm/ patient yet constantly gives feedback and instructs in a professional way. And he uses his time wisely and teaches you until you master. Overall, I had a good experience with Adolfo during all my lessons and passed my test with an ease. Of course, I did practice hard and read the dmv book to learn all the road rules as well. Thank you Adolfo! It was a pleasure working with you. read more

I have driven for about a year with my permit, but I needed a brush up with my parallel parking and I needed to take the 5 hour class. Superior Driving was near where I live and I knew people who took lessons here, so I signed up for a 5 hour class at first. I thought it would just consist of videos and be very boring since I had a 5pm to 10pm class, but it totally was not. The class was interactive, and the instructor was very, very funny! He added stories to the class, and it didn't feel like 5 hours at all. So, to the actual driving lessons. The instructor would pick me up right in front of my house at the exact time. They were really patient and funny! They taught me short cuts for the test and were extremely helpful. Also, they would call my phone to remind me about my driving test and if I would have a different instructor for my lesson for the next day. I had 4 driving lessons and I passed the road test on my first try! Also, I found their prices to be cheaper than the driving schools in the area. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I had zero driving experience before I decided to enroll in Superior Driving School. The school was recommended by a friend that took her lessons a year ago and passed her driving test on her first try. Of course, I wanted to pass too and decided to enroll with the same instructor, Adolfo. Adolfo was very patient with me. He made sure that I understand all the rules of the road and explained all the little details inside the car . Mind you, I have only been in the back of a car before meeting Adolfo, so I knew nothing. He would make sure I perfected every turn, parking maneuver, and u-turn. Because of his dedication in teaching me all these things, I passed my driving test on my first try. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wishes to learn how to drive. THANK YOU ADOLFO!!! read more

Superior Driving School was a really great place to learn to drive. I went to the 5 hour pre licensing course in late February, it was helpful in reiterating following the rules, that you always to need to beware of those around you, and no driving while impaired. I had the beginner lesson package and started lessons on March 7, however they were stopped due to Covid after March 15. I started them up again in July 21, and continued until August 20, 2020. I took my first road test on August 20 in Astoria Park and passed. The ladies at the front desk were always understanding and kind when scheduling my upcoming driving lessons. I really recommend driving with Adolfo or Oublal. I changed from one to the other due to my inability to keep the original schedule of lessons and switched to a different day with a new instructor. Oublal is really attentive to your mistakes and makes sure to remind you of what you are doing incorrectly, until it becomes a habit and you learn to correct yourself. This is really helpful because over time I started pointing out my own mistakes and making sure I didn't do them again. Adolfo was more laid back but when I made a mistake during our lessons we would repeat the same turn, parallel parking or other technique until I got it down well, over and over. I'm really glad I got to work with both of them because their different teaching styles were beneficial in different ways, and both made me feel comfortable driving around different neighborhoods and entering highways. I also recommend booking double lessons if you can, one right after the next, because one lesson goes by really quickly and it feels like you didn't do much, that's just my personal opinion though. read more

Aldofo did not make me feel nervous and when I made a mistake he gave me helpful tips. If it wasn't for Adolfo I wouldn't have been able to pass my road test. This place was horrible. I showed up at the defensive driving class and the class was cancelled because something happened to the instructor. In the meantime, I heard the receptionist said on the phone that the instructor will show if one more person comes. So they just cancelled the class because not enough people were there. This business was misleading because they told me over the phone that classes are held Tuesday and Wednesday evening but in reality that only happens when they have enough people. I was really annoyed with them because I arrange for someone to baby sit my daughter thinking I was going to take this class. I will not go back to them. read more
