Since moving to NH a year ago I've had to go to different dealers. St. John Subaru in VT, when I lived in Twin Mountain NH and now Belknap Subaru (which is an hour and 15 minute drive away from my current location of East Wakefield NH. Though there is Profile Subaru dealer about 40 minutes away, I have heard stories and their service department hasn't been very responsive via phone or email. For these reasons I have CHOSEN Belknap Subaru. They are friendly and answer any questions that you may have, from how long it will take, to how much it will cost. I have my 30K mile checkup/oil change, tire rotation, multi point inspection and all that goes with it. I also had my state inspection completed. I was interested in purchasing a Rav 4 (Vin# 2T3ZFREV5GW263024), and I had (and still have) several questions and concerns that I was looking to Belknap Subaru for answers. I was simply looking for information to make an informed decision on purchasing this vehicle. After two hours of having an unproductive and negative experience with two of their salesmen, I've decided that I'm no longer interested in purchasing this vehicle. They provided run around answers to my questions, and try to snow ball me on a carfax report (title history report, green box with white check marks). We communicated via their business chatline and via text exchange. They didn't answer my questions. Rather they provided run around information and asked me to justify their information. Hmm, They are the professionals, not me. They claim to have a clean title but never offer to send me a copy. Like the question on the maintenance performed on the vehicle while in Alaska (own house in Alaska, no shop, had his own oil, second owner of a three owner vehicle) I never asked why the vehicle was in Alaska. I asked why no maintenance history for ~ 30k miles, 50k to 82k, (not even an oil change). They had one questionable excuse after another and never answered any of my questions. Their lack of willingness to share information, this just raised a red flag, and convinced me that this dealership isn't being forthcoming. I have screenshots. You can decide for yourself. These salesmen were many things but helpful wasn't one of them. My opinion, they weren't professional and didn't hold up the business's standards, commitment to their customers, and the community outlined on your website. Once, I get clarification from Carfax and my independent findings on the mileage discrepancies, I will have answers to many of my questions. No thanks to the dealership's staff. read more

The most incompetent salespeople I've ever experienced in my life. We walked in with cash and said 'we want to buy a car from you.' After nearly a month(!) of trying to buy the car we asked for from Tyler Avery, we finally get confirmation on the price and all the details. We then turn up to find the car is a different color to what we asked for (lol, wut?!), then have salesman Mark Mallahan try to defend his colleague and argue with us about the color instead of trying to solve the problem - then threaten me when I voiced displeasure with the process... If you appreciate clear communication, someone being proactive and making the process easy for you, or not being argued with or threatened(!), steer your hard-earned dollars far, far away from this bunch of mooks. My husband & I were very happy with the sales process of buying our 2021 Subaru Outbacks but terribly disappointed with the service department. The pros of the service department (& waiting area) are that everyone is friendly & the waiting room is clean and comfortable. However, the service done to our cars & my daughter's 2019 Subaru Outback was sub-par. Our experiences were: 1) My husband decided to sell his car in August 2023 to get a truck to tow our RV. He had had his car inspected in June 2023 & it passed. However, the buyer's (post-sale) inspection in August failed the tires so they were not happy and we had to adjust the sale price. 2) I noticed that braking of my car was jerky and mentioned this in November 2023 when I was having my car inspected and the winter tires put on. I was told that the brakes were fine. The problem continued and I mentioned it again to my local mechaic in Spring 2024 when switching out winter/all season tires (I was no longer under warranty). He discovered that not only were the brake pads in need of replacement but also the drums (or whatever they're called). This was an expensive repair and should have been covered by my service contract that I'd paid for. The service manager never returned my call. 3) My daughter's car was having problems and needed to have the fuel pump replaced. They replaced it and a few months later, she started having the same problem. She went to another dealership and their service department told her that the replacement was a defective unit. Maybe one out of 3 issues could be passed off as bad luck but 3 cars, 3 substandard maintenance & repair? They will never work on my car again. read more

I take my Impreza here for service, and I am constantly blown away. The service team is incredible, and I feel good knowing they're the ones looking after my car. I moved from the seacoast to the lakes, and the service here is much better than at my previous dealership (where I bought my car). When I'm in the waiting area, I feel completely comfortable, and have even struck up casual conversations on occasion with the employees, all without feeling pressured to make a purchase of any kind. When it comes to servicing my car, Beth and Bill always make sure to tell me the technician's recommendation for any problems, but there is never any obligation to make repairs (even though I do). I feel confident that they would respect my choice to get a second opinion if I ever wanted one. That said, I don't feel the need to seek another opinion since I believe this team has mu back! read more

The best service department I have ever used. Bill has to be the best customer service rep I have encountered. I have used this dealership for over 7 years, they know their stuff, honest and trustworthy. Recently had a new clutch assembly done and both Bill and Tyler keep me informed every step of the way. It's been several months since this incident took place, but it has left an impression on me. It's rather an awkward thing to go to a dealership and get information about a car you're intending to buy from someone else. I was in the process of buying my first Subaru on the private market... it was a used Forester and I had questions that only a Subaru dealer could answer for me. Now, I don't recommend just running down there and doing the same thing... it was uncomfortable for me and I apologized profusely for not buying one of their cars. The people I dealt with were attentive and helpful despite the fact I was buying from somebody else. It may have been the guilt I was feeling for having no intention of buying from them at this time, but I hung out for a bit asking questions of one of their sales staff as well as their service personnel. Both the salesperson and the service manager were told about my scenario and their demeanor never changed. I even met the general manager. They were all welcoming and helpful as well as very knowledgeable. They did try to get me to change my mind and purchase from them, but I would have been disappointed if they hadn't. Well, I bought my Forrester and I love the car, but it's not just the car. I don't know if it's a Subaru thing or a Belknap Subaru thing. You know when you walk into a place and you get a vibe? It's a chemistry thing. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. Well... when you walk into their dealership, you instantly feel welcome. It's hard to explain, but when I walk into Belknap Subaru today, I feel like part of the Subaru family. My next new car will come from them for sure. read more

My car was only a few month old we bought in Manchester and I had a screw in my tire and I brought it in and within 10 mins it was fixed and I was on my way, they did not charge me for the fix! Customer service was great and the place was clean and spacious. Will continue to use them in the future! read more

The customer service--both on the phone and in person--has been awesome, they have a desk next to an outlet for those of us who have to work, two comfortable waiting areas that offer tea, coffee, and snacks (including fruit!), and they recycle using TerraCycle so it actually gets recycled and not taken to the landfill. I was in and out in no time, and they did great work. I'll definitely be back. read more

They do not honor warranty repairs when they are obviously requires and seem to care more about their relationship with Subaru of America than customer service. I was an hour and a half away from home when my car started acting up on a Saturday. My check engine light came on and I pulled over. I call AAA and they tell there is a dealership less than .3 miles from me, so I drive the car on over and they immediately get it in tone looked at, fixed and worked with my warranty company from back home to cover the expenses. I love this dealership. I bought my 2016 Forester here and they were great. Not only did we get a good car, AWD, but the service was phenomenal. We were treated like family members (in a good way) rather than customers. We have purchased Subarus in the past and love the cars, so that was not a hard sell. I bought my car and get it serviced here at Belknap Subaru all the time! Today I had a low tire and stopped in to see if they could help me. They took my car in and found a nail in the tire. Removed the nail and plugged the tire. I was there for maybe 15 minutes and there was NO CHARGE for fixing it. That is called customer sevice! Love that place! read more

In mid July my original post was quite uncomplimentary of the Service Manager and described our encounters with this person. We declared despite having a Service Plan we would not be returning to Belknap Subaru. After the post we received several calls from the Sales Manager who bent over backward to put things right. We cannot speak highly enough of the new Service Manager "Beth" and Sales Manager "Mark" . While we never asked for special treatment they certainly made us feel that is what we got. read more

Joe T 1/15/19 Just left Belknap Subaru service on my 2017 Outback oil/filter change and inspection was referred by a friend after telling him how disappointed with dealer I purchased my car from and last service from another Subaru dealer near Londonderry decided to give them a try WOW I have new faith in Subaru . Greeted on arrival with a pleasant smile wrote my work order up asked if I wanted a tour of there dealership showroom ,parts , customer waiting areas . This dealership well run and the help pay attention to detail . Everything was gleaming , midwinter you wouldn't know . Without question I will be returning for all my future service needs and when the time comes to purchase my next Subaru .
