While waiting in the waiting room, I overheard an employee sticking up for one of their customers regarding a price quote he got from what sounded like a part distributor. The distributor wanted to pass on a significant price increase for shipping to the customer. The Forrest Howes' employee was respectfully pushing back and felt this was not right for the customer and the distributor should not do this as he was previously quoted a lesser price. I couldn't tell the details of the conversation, but it just made me feel like the place could be trusted and had integrity. It's always nice to see a business truly value their customers. It was reassuring to witness as I'm not from the area and needed a mechanic.

I hopped on yelp and sent Tenney Mountain Auto Repair a message and Patrick (owner and mechanic) responded quickly. I described the issue and he came up with two possibilities, pads and rotors or ball joint. He asked for my VIN# and then sent me an estimate. Very reasonable estimate. Monday (6/20) the car was at his shop ready for work. He took care of the back brakes and then showed me the front. TO paraphrase," The fronts are fine, but they will need to be done soon.. Let me show you.." I want to make this clear, he said it will be fine for now. I decided to get the fronts done also. He got them done.. ALL UNDER ESTIMATE. Patrick was knowledgeable, kind, wicked sense of humor, and answered questions. His shop is clean and comfortable (no fancy waiting room, but you can watch him work on your ride).
