Belks can vary greatly in quality based on the location. At least, that is our experience. I like this one. Unlike other locations, they have 2 separate buildings, one for clothes and one for home goods. Their selection is generally very good. Plus, each time we've been there, they had plenty of cashiers. Yay! And like other Belks, you can find d good deals every so often. It would be nice if Belks would expand a little on the brands they carry.

I visited here around 6:35pm on a Sunday afternoon to help my brother shop for a beige suit jacket and a vest to match with some pants he already had. Google said they closed at 8, but they really cloSed at 7pm. They had a decent size area but not many beige colors or vest. My brother found a jacket was pretty close but it was like $90, even with 30% off, so he didn't get it. What's up with places not having beige stuff?! This was the same for a Macys and JCPENNEY. Nonetheless, his girlfriend saw a few things and got them. On the Belk app, they had several coupons available. While checking out, the lady REPEATEDLY tried to get my brothers girlfriend to open a belk credit card after declining. She legit asked 3-4 more times. I noticed it but kept it to myself but I knew it wasn't just me when my brother said something. We were trying to hurry up and go because we had gotten a phone call saying our table was ready for where we was going for dinner.

Nobody works here, you're better off shopping online. The clothes are all over the place and there's only 2 cashiers at most on each floor.

In a last minute Shopping spree for funeral clothes for my sons ages 28 and 31, we went to Belks at Friendly.

They have VERY Limited suit/dressy section for men. If that's your purpose, do not come to Macys, at least at this location. You'll have better luck somewhere else. We legit was like "that's it?". We even asked an employee to be sure. Clearly, we didn't find what we were looking for. Upstairs, they have Macy's Backstage, which is essentially like a discount area. There was hand sanitizer available by the escalators. I did notice that the escalators were narrow. While simply just browsing, someone did ask if he needed any help, which he didn't. Backstage has a BUNCH of stuff. So, I would definitely recommend going there FIRST before shopping in the regular area. Ultimately, we left and went to another store to continue the search.

Clothing is always strewn everywhere, shelves are disorganized, and the words "neat and tidy" have no connection to this retailer. Imagine shelves of stacked shirts; someone pulls one out from the bottom, opens it up, and then shoves it back on top of the stack wadded up. No,w repeat that with the next one on the bottom, etc., and that is pretty much how the shelves are. The racks are the same, with stuff on the floors, hanging over the top of the racks, hanging by one end of a hanger, etc. Even the jewelry and watches in cases are not neat or aligned. Finding an employee here is like panning for gold in the Pacific Ocean, which is probably why nobody is around to clean things up. Finding a cashier is even more challenging than that. And when you do find an open cashier, expect silly lines. On this visit, there was a place with 3 cash registers but only 1 cashier and 9 people in line in front of us. Macy's is trying to emulate WalMart and doing a fine job. The only reason we stayed in line was that our granddaughter ate a bite of a lollipop so we needed to pay for it. We have stopped going to Macy's; this was the last time we went to one. Pretty much the only thing you find there now is store brands and clutter. You are better off going to Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, or smaller stores like Black Market, White House, Ann Taylor, Talbot's, etc. Two stars and sadness at what this brand has become.

It has the feel of TJ Maxx or Marshall. That can be nice sometimes, but I personally wouldn't drive to it again. It does have a really large collection, especially of shirts and pants. I did find that the type of "look" seemed to target a different demographic, so I had trouble finding clothes that I liked. When I looked at the tags, most of the clothing was made in China though, so I'm not sure how long it will last. There were a couple of sections with actual Dillards brands, and they were nicer (in my opinion), but then the prices were more like going to the Mall, so I don't really have a need to drive there. If I lived in High Point, I'd probably visit from time to time, but it's not worth the visit from Winston.

They had a lot of racks full of clothes. Surprisingly all of it was very neat. I rated this a 3 because it wasn't my cup of tea, but I can imagine folks who like to pick through racks of clothing would find this place a hidden gem. Plus none of the clothing were my style. I saw ladies with carts full of clothing. The store had great deals and they were loading up. It is attached to an abandoned mall so the visuals are very old and dated. There is plenty of parking and lots of room that you aren't on top of each other. Those who like to dig for treasure. Have fun exploring!
