Order was placed at 6:30 and they still can't tell him how much longer so we've getting our money back and placing an order elsewhere. Also there is a child with 1 shoe on. It's a small place so I recommend take-out (it only takes about 5 minutes for them to prepare your order). The best Chinese we have been able to find since moving here is Beijing by far. The prices are pretty much the same as any other Chinese restaurant around this area, but I think the quality is much better. We got pork fried rice which was very good. Sweet and sour chicken that was good as well. The general Taos shrimp was okay, the sauce was good but only three pieces of broccoli and way to much breading on the shrimp. I honestly have never had such an awful experience in Chinese delivery. First, the delivery person argued with me regarding whether I had paid with a credit card. Fortunately I was able to show that it was taken out of my account. Then, he kept cursing about the restaurant. But that pales in comparison to the actual food. I ordered Peking duck. Perhaps I am used to an American presentation, with pancakes as hoisin sauce. This did not have either. What it did have was okbone, feathers, and a duck head, (no meat) served with broccoli and white rice. I expect my duck to at least be defeathered. I'm hooked. My usual place moved further north putting Beijing closer, so I checked it out after a hearty recommendation from my neighbor, and have been eating here at least once per week since. I've ordered a different dish every time and have yet to be disappointed. Everything tastes fresh, flavors are nicely balanced, and there's generosity in the balance of meat or seafood vs. vegetables. Most Chinese restaurant strikes me as good, but fairly standard, however Beijing is a step above and consequently, I seem to be eating more Chinese food than I have before. There are a few Thai dishes as well which I look forward to exploring more thoroughly. I tried the Pad Thai so far and it was fantastic. There's just a little something extra in the way they do things, for instance I love shrimp egg rolls but they always seem suspiciously factory made at most places, but Beijing makes their own and they're fantastic. The Won Ton soup is packed with delicious won tons and is a meal in its own. Very nice, dedicated, hard working folks run this place. I always see the same women running the show when I come and enjoy talking Chinese food with her. She listens to customer feedback and strives to make Beijing as good as it can be. It's the second time I've been here since moving nearby this month. First time was Shrimp fried rice (3/5), Singapore Noodles (5/5), Pork Egg Roll (4/5), and Hot and Sour Soup (3/5). Today was Black Pepper Chicken (5/5) with fried rice side (4/5) and Hot and Sour Soup (4/5) from the lunch menu, and a side of KimChi (6/5... I love this stuff) from the main menu. First, the hot dishes were piping hot and fresh! The Black Pepper Chicken was savory with just enough sweetness to round it out. Not overly spicy, though I wouldn't mind a little more heat. The Hot and Sour Soup had just enough vinegar and hear to bring on the hiccups (is this a medicinal feature? lol). The only thing missing was crispy won ton for a little crunch. I'll have to ask for them in advance, next time. And then, there's the kimchi! omg I absolutely LOVE the stuff they serve. It's the red kind and just the right blend of pungent, tangy, and crunchy. They really need to sell this by the pound/quart/cooler full... I'm pretty picky with Asian food, usually too bland, or too Americanized, but this place has been doing a pretty good job of bringing a smile to my face. I just wish the Fried Rice entree was better. Oh, and if you need your nails done, the folks next door at the Wynn Nail Spa are really nice. I see them at coffee just about every day as they head to work. I often come to this establishment to get a quick lunch or sometime dinner, frequently enough that the folks working there recognized that I am a repeat customer. The food isn't stellar but better than places I've tried in the past. Typically I've called-in my orders for pickup or occasionally sit in for my meal, but I cringe at calling-in because on every occasion I've had to repeat myself several times. I've called other establishment before without any issues so that rules out my phone being the issue. Having to repeat yourself numerous time every time you call in can get annoying, so when I found out that I can order online via BeyondMenu I was elated. Placed my order online and when I got to the restaurant and told the lady behind the counter that I ordered onlne she got a little miffed. "So you order online? Why?" she asked.I explained that it was very convenient to which she annoyingly said "Call in next time because ordering online we get charge 2%". While I understand the need to "watch your expense" I was taken aback by her statement. If you don't want folks to order online then why even have the ability to allow doing exactly that. I ordered from Beijing just from the convenience of being able to order online and pay with credit card. It is a great system especially when the workers there don't speak English fluently. I usually order Mei fun from the Chinese restaurant that I've never tried. So I ordered Mei fun which is rice noodles usually cooked with Chinese vegetables and fried eggs. I was very disappointed. It had only celery. No Chinese vegetables or eggs. It was just bad and didn't even have any other flavor but celery. Since my husband liked his fried rice okay, I gave them another chance. But no. This is a great local Chinese food location. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. They even have brown rice!! Delivery is speedy and the delivery person I had was very friendly. He had a bit of trouble finding my house and called and asked for directions, he was very patient and apologized for being unable to find the house on his own. I used to get chinese from the China King in Landen square, but when I went there today, it was gone and Beijing was in it's place. So I tried it and it was amazing! Even better than China King ever was. Cheap, fast, very friendly service, extremely clean, and the quality of the food suprised me!
