Barely a hint of any Jerk spices - which it usually has, and that was a disappointment. I love jerk chicken. The tomato jam added some hint of sweetness, but all was very underwhelming. So we got a beign-ghetti and beignet jfc sandwich and mind you, they come with 2 beignets each. You can add on 4 beignets and a coffee for $4 but that might be too much honestly (and their coffee isn't the best thing). Anyway, the beignet-ghetti was our favorite, it was a mix of carbonara and tomato sauce and it was just creamy delight and deliciousness. And you can't beat the egg on top and tater tots either. The jfc jerk fried chicken sandwich was okay at best, I'd probably go for a different sandwich but still not too bad. The crunch is present but the flavor was a little lacking. Still, pretty solid for what it's worth. Now, the beignets are crunchy and drowning in powdered sugar so I had a field day with them, i couldn't stop eating them. And they're so cheap too! Other beignets may cost twice as much but taste the same as here so keep that in mind. We get around more than I thought and since we found ourselves in Riverside we thought we'd try this spot! It was our first time here and we found paid parking on the street. I was really disappointed at the quality of the beignets on my first, weekend morning visit. They just weren't as fluffy or as light as I have grown to know and love beignets for. It was a very slow time only one seated table and a second to-go order waiting along with myself. The shape and overall texture of the desserts lacked for me but I did really enjoy the sweet tea. This cute, hip spot is located across the street from Riverside City Hall, a few blocks south of Mission Inn, where I was staying. From the Inn, you can walk down the pedestrian plaza 3 blocks to City Hall to avoid vehicular traffic. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and all meals come with 2 beignets minimum. They also offer classic boxed beignets (8 or 12 pack) and 6-pack artisan beignets (peach cobbler, bananas foster and berry). In the tradition of New Orleans, their coffee has chicory, both hot, cold brew and as a milkshake. I think the beignets are made to order. I ordered a breakfast beignet combo (4 beignets, grits, Andouille sausage, scrambled eggs) and the peach cobbler beignets. I'm not a coffee drinker, but some other patrons left without ordering when they were told there was no hot coffee, only cold brew. Now I've had beignets at New Orleans' iconic Cafe Du Monde, and locally I remember having them at the Beachcomber Cafe at Crystal Cove, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney, and Joyce southern restaurant in downtown LA. I would rank Beignet Spot's third, after Cafe Du Monde and Beachcomber, both of which are lighter/fluffier. All are heavily doused with powdered sugar, a requirement. I think I prefer my beignets this way, without additional toppings/sweetness, although the peach cobbler topping was quite tasty. The grits lacked flavour (more butter please), but the sausage was fine, the eggs a bit overcooked. Overall a good spot for a beignet fix. read more

They even ran out of chocolate dipping sauce. Who runs out of sauce. Because the first time was amazing, I drove out of my way to come here. Maybe it was an off day. A positive was that they gave plenty of sugar on top. I asked about how the beignets were supposed to be, and they stated you want them to be thin and crispy. Came in after going to the farmers market nearby. They have a cool little corner spot. We got the jerk chicken sandwich, tenders and beignet combo, and the banana foster beignet. All the beignets were delicious. Super chewy inside and crispy on the outside. Plenty of powdered sugar and the banana foster topping came out fantastic! All of the chicken came out nice and crispy and was super juicy and fall apart tender. We also tried their mango habanero sauce that was sweet and just a little spicy. We have had Cafe DuMundo in Louisiana and those are incredible so when we find a place that makes them that's who we compare to and the Beignet spot nailed it! Decided to come here for my lunch break today. I found out they do a chicken/beignet combo which was my deciding factor as I wanted to try both food and dessert from this spot but didn't want to dish out the money for two separate plates. The girl working cashier around 2:30-3pm absolutely killed it on the hospitality part and made me feel welcome. Wish every place would be like that haha stayed to eat there. A quiet corner spot in downtown Riverside. This spot has been around for around three years and as a non native to the Riverside area the location looks almost brand new. Serving breakfast and lunch as well as their signature beignets it's about as close to Louisiana as you can get. The dough is fluffy and a mild sweetness pairs beautifully with the powdered sugar and dipping sauces. I also opted for the Jerk Chicken Sandwhich and this thing blew me out of the water.
