This review is purely for Dr. Cheikh. She is a very calm, passionate, thorough explaining dentist. I had a filling done by my general dentist and a day later was in pain. I assumed it was from the procedure as the post-op instructions stated i would be uncomfortable for up to two weeks. I waited the two weeks and still in pain. at this point, i went back to the dentist and he referred me to Dr. Cheikh for root canal. due to scheduling, i wasnt able to see her for a few days. My face had gotten swollen and my gums were hurting. When i saw Dr. Cheikh, she thoroughly examined my teeth to make sure what i could feel and couldnt. she did a list of sensation tests to narrow down the problem and from her findings she preformed the root canal that day. I have seen many dentists and I can tell that Dr. Cheikh really made sure i was comfortable and that any infection was cleaned out. Before any of this, she also made sure to go over the payment before performing anything to make sure we were both in agreement. i highly recommend her. If i rated her overall office, it would be a 3.5. her office is small and it looks like it is run by Dr. Cheikh and her dental assistant. the phones were ringing non-stop and during down times on my tooth they would either answer a call or respond to one, which i didnt mind. these days, its hard to find help and good help at least. As a dentist, again 5 starts, given the economy these days, i didnt mind the back and forth that happened as i think it is truly 2 people running a business. read more

Her office is absolutely clean and so comfortable, the assistant is a sweetheart and this team's office is where you want to go to, with any disappointment news you get from other doctors. Before you do any important just see her first. She goes above and beyond to save your existing teeth. I saw Dr. Cheikh for evaluation of 2 molars of which I was having discomfort. My first red flag was the unprofessional appearance & demeanor of her receptionist/dental assistant/office helper. also seemed odd That the office seemed really slow, like I was the only patient there. Dr. cheikh took multiple X-rays of my teeth & spent approximately an hour "evaluating" my discomfort without any diagnosis or specific recommendations other than to use a water pic, check my mouth guard & come back in 1 month. I received a large bill. I also was told by my oral surgeon 6 weeks later that he could see, via panogram that 1 of the molars was badly fractured , below the gum line & is no longer salvageable. I would never recommend Dr Cheikh. read more

I was seen promptly upon referral from my dentist after experiencing upper jaw pain for over a week. I was very apprehensive about the root canal procedure but Dr. Cheikh thoroughly and patiently described the entire process. I was refereed to this doctor by an awesome dentist in Carlsbad named Dr. Park. I, like most people, have a fear of needles. It isn't an issue with the pain, but rather than it creeps me to high hell feeling a hair thin piece of metal slide in and out of my gums. I can not stress enough how much Behnaz and her assistant Amanda helped me with this problem. They loaded me with enough topical numbing agent that I was unlikely to feel a punch to my jaw, let alone the prick of a needle. Dr Behnaz must have experience with these kinds of problems because she was the first dentist I have ever had that got me to close my eyes and concentrate on something else to take my mind of the creepiness. She was quick and concise with her work. Dr. Cheikh is amazing. So warm and caring. I called her literally crying in pain as I had waited to get in to see my regular dentist. She saw me right away, gave me options and an antibiotic. She took her own time to call my dentist to get the records, and to pull a favor and refer me to an oral surgeon. Dr. Cheikh & her assistants were very attentive to me throughout the procedure. I've had many times where a dentist and staff are gossiping and joking with each other the whole time (making me feel like a potted plant), but Dr. Cheikh and her assistent were both laser-focused on me and my physical comfort. I hate the feeling of spit in my mouth for example, and all I needed to do was swallow twice and they would instantly be there with suction or anything else I needed. Dr. Cheikh was also very patient with me and my questions, and I felt so confident about her skills that I asked her for a second opinion on two other teeth-related issues I was concerned about. Their new office (brand new as of December 2017) is modern with cutting-edge technology, and even has an ocean view. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to go back (which is quite a statement considering I was visiting for a root canal). As a person who is nervous going to the dentist even for a routine check up, I was very scared when I was told that I would need this procedure. Dr. Cheikh and her staff were both kind and gentle. They put me at ease right away. I went through the procedure with little to no discomfort. Having had a previous root canal at a different dental office in this area, I can tell you that there was a night and day difference.
