I honestly can't say enough good things about Dr. Kevin Andrus and his team. Like most people, I'd heard all the horror stories about root canals, so I walked in expecting the worst. Instead, I felt one tiny pinch at the very beginning to numb the area, and after that... absolutely nothing. No pain at all. About 40 minutes later, he was finished. Dr. Andrus is calm, professional, and incredibly good at what he does. You can tell right away you're in experienced hands. He explained everything as he worked, so I never once wondered what was happening. That made the whole experience so much less stressful. He also told me he's performed over 30,000 root canals, and after my experience, I believe it. What really impressed me was that he used a microscope during the procedure, and because of that the opening he made was incredibly small. I had very little soreness afterward--really just about a day of mild discomfort--and that was it. His assistant was amazing too. He was friendly, helpful, informative, and worked seamlessly with Dr. Andrus. You could tell they have an incredible routine together. The whole process felt organized, efficient, and professional from start to finish. Best of all, all the tooth sensitivity I'd been dealing with before the procedure is completely gone. I'm so glad I finally had it done. If you need a root canal, don't let the stories on the internet scare you. Go see Dr. Kevin Andrus. I would highly recommend this dental practice and would give it a million stars if I could! Everybody, from the doctors to the assistants and front desk, is highly professional, up to date with best/most advanced dental practices as well as genuinely compassionate. The doctors and entire staff understand your individual needs and are happy to adjust or suggest best options based on your case. For instance, at this point in my health journey I prefer to not receive 3D x-rays unless medically necessary. Even though it was an hour before closing time and they were working on another patient ahead of me they offered to stay late and take care of my issue!! Dr. Andrus and his staff went above and beyond for my 12 yo son. He was gentle and kind to him but also relatable. He knew immediately what was needed medically and explained to me clearly leaving no doubts in my mind during our consultation. He then, at my request, stayed late to address the problem immediately. My son's tooth looks better then it did before his accident and healed up so quickly (within hours). The staff was very kind and helpful as well. I started experiencing a bad toothache 2 days ago - went to my dentist yesterday - got in to see Dr. Andrus this morning and got a root canal done at the same appointment. Dr. Andrus and his staff went excellent - prompt, efficient, kind, and patient. My root canal was finished quickly and with zero pain. I'm very grateful to the whole staff (who also all made a point of pronouncing my not easy name perfectly - it sounds silly, but attention to detail in one thing reflects attention to detail in other things). I had an oral injury to 2 front teeth, which either had to be extracted or saved with root canals. I go to a biological dentist and am holistic minded when it comes to medical when possible. I spent weeks researching root canal procedures and found that there are possible alternative practices for root canals that make it safer and prevent potential infection such as using the gentle wave procedure. Dr. Garland uses the gentle wave and also the type of sealer I had read about that is preferred. It was so relieving to find an endodontist that uses the ideal techniques and materials , in addition to being warm, friendly, and had many years of experience. The procedure was easy, and minimal pain. The office was very accommodating , squeezed me in, and answered all my questions as I navigated this process. read more

I was referred to Dr. Garland by my general dentist for a root canal. I was able to make an appointment for two days later. The receptionist greeted me with a smile and welcomed me. The dental assistant, Gabby came to get me for x-rays and escorted me to the exam room. She was friendly, professional and extremely efficient. Meeting Dr. Garland, I was immediately put at ease and felt relieved with his thorough explanation of the procedure. He and Gabby work together like a fine-tuned machine. I was comfortable throughout the procedure and remained pain free following the root canal. My confidence level is high. Dr Andrus and staff were amazing! I was in and out with my first root canal within 60min. That included a Scan, consult and the procedure. I highly recommend this practice. It was easier than going to a dentist. What impressed me the most was the call from Dr Andrus later that night checking in to make sure i was feeling ok. This is long overdue. I received a root canal therapy from Dr. Andrus. Both him and his assistant were top notch! I didn't feel a thing during the therapy and even the anesthesia was very minor discomfort since he wait until there is enough numbness to give the small injections. I didn't expect a surgery can be this comfortable honestly and I was indeed very nervous. It's been a few months since I had the procedure and absolutely no issues so far. The front office was very helpful too - when I had a little bleeding afterwards and called them at late hours, they still picked up the phone and asked me to apply some tea bags and the bleeding went away quickly. I did A TON of research before deciding on this place, specifically for the level of expertise and experience that Dr. Andrus has on Root Canals, and I also heard that he has done likely 10k of those and can probably do it blind-folded. Surprised to discover from my dentist that I needed a root canal right away in my front capped tooth. I was referred to Dr. Andrus and team and relieved to be in such good hands. I had an ongoing going issue with one of my teeth and I needed to take care of it once and for all. I was going out town and the pain was getting worse. My dentist referred me to NC Endodontics to look into the issue further since they thought I might need a root canal. I called their office and they got me in within 2 hours. When I arrived the staff was very friendly and got me into the treatment room right away. Dr Swan came in and did an initial exam. She did confirm I would need a root canal. She went over images that they had taken with me so I could understand the situation. The cost was given to me up front so there were no surprises. Once I agreed to move forward she got right to work. I was a bit apprehensive since this was my first root canal and didn't really know what to expect. Dr Swan injected me with numbing medication which I hardly felt at all, she was a true pro! Once I was numb she and here assistant Michelle worked hand in hand to get the job done. They always checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. They provided me with noice cancelling head phones so I could listen to music or watch TV. I hooked up music on my phone and I was set to go. Could hardly hear any drilling at that point. After about an hour the job was done. They took more images which she went over with me to show the work that had been done. After that, I was on my way....hardly any pain at all. Was referred by my dentist to Dr Garland for a probable root canal, preceding a necessary crown. I have had multiple root canals by different endodontists over the years, and Dr Garland did an amazing job. The best root canal I've ever experienced; by which I mean, easy, painless, the staff did a great job, they were friendly, it was fast and efficient and more pleasant than anyone has a right to expect, considering. I was referred to Dr. Andrus by my regular dentist to investigate and treat tooth discomfort. I was immediately impressed with the state of the art diagnostic tools. I was especially amazed that Dr. Andrus was able to perform the root canal through a small hole in my existing crown, allowing my regular dentist to restore the crown instead of performing a full crown replacement (quite the $$ saver). My hygenist advised something wrong, Dentist confirmed and advised I visit Dr. Andrus. X-rays proved infection near old root canal. Dr. A advised he would attack the infection instead of going through crown, etc and would save me getting new crown. I wasn't in any pain, but also never felt a thing during the whole procedure. Truly painless and taken care of in a very short time. Oliver and Gabby were on deck to help with all facets of the surgery. The whole procedure from initial look-see to getting home instructions was great. I had a root canal with Dr. Andrus, he was recommended by my dentist Dr. Kay who I trust completely. Dr. Andrus was great, very good with Novocaine shots which is important to me and did an excellent job on the root canal. It was a tricky one because it was a wisdom tooth that had moved into the position of an extracted molar. Wisdom teeth have curved, difficult roots, but Dr. Andrus dealt with them quite well. His assistant Oliver was excellent as well. No one likes having a root canal, but Dr. Andrus made it painless and as easy a root canal can be.
