My dentist informed me that I need a root canal. They were able to schedule with Encinitas Endodontic Specialists for same day. As I came in, I was welcomed in by Lynn who was very helpful and professional. Soon after I was done with the paperwork, Rosie came to get me. As I was getting prepped by Rosie, I heard the doctor speaking to the frail elderly woman that he was with (next to me). He was so kind, respectful and gentle with her, that I knew that he genuinely cared about his patients. Doctor Joseph L. Packer was very nice and professional. He set my stress at ease just be calmly explaining the process. After numbing me, they gave me ear phones and I watched one of my favorite HGTV shows on the ceiling as they took care of my tooth. From time to time, Dr. Packer gave me updates and let me know how far along the process was. When he was done (almost an hour), he massaged my jaw a bit because he understood that it was aching. This was very comforting. The entire process was pleasant and stress free. I hope I never need a root canal again. But if I do, this is where I'll be coming. Dr. Packer was kind enough to call and check in on me on the following morning. If you need Endodontic services, you'll do yourself a favor by coming here. Was referred there for a root canal, dr packer took great care of me, I especially like his bedside manor. They do this thing with a really cold cotton swap after they numb you to make sure you are actually numb before they begin working. They took very good care of me prior to and during the repair. I was referred to EES for a root canal. Dr Packer was so fantastic. I felt no pain at all! I didn't even feel the first two shots and barely the third one. He was super nice and OMG.. way to cute! Everyone at the office was just beyond nice and helpful. I wish they were my regular dentist. Or that they would offer classes to my regular dentist on how to numb up patients with out causing PTSD. I live about 45 minutes away but It is worth the drive. I could go on and on about how fantastic they are, but I am sure you get the idea. My visit was yesterday and I feel fine. The front desk is friendly and welcoming, hygienists are all wonderfully kind, and the doctor is fantactic. Everything was fully explained about the process, both before we started and during the treatment. When the doctor finished, I even got a little jaw massage to ease my achy mouth. Dr Stout is pretty great. I had to have emergency root canal after a new crown went bad. Dr Stout took real good care of me, and made an uncomfortable situation really tolerable. When I needed a root canal I started searching on yelp. I found Dr. Packer was near my home so I called up his office first thing Monday morning and asked for a next day appointment because my tooth pain had just flared up over the weekend. I was happily surprised when his receptionist offered me an appointment at 9:30 AM the next day. I was very thankful to get right in, the tooth was getting worse. When I arrived his team had my x-rays from my dentist and were ready to go. I have had several root canal's in my life, but Dr. packer is by far the best. He is gentle and works fast. He completed my molar root canal in 90 minutes. I do not have to come back in for another appointment. I am very happy with Dr. packer and his awesome team. I'm incredibly thankful to have found Dr. Packer for a Dreaded root canal in a molar. Having had several root canals done in the past I knew it could be a very painful ordeal even after the procedure was complete. Dr. Packer was a good listener as I initially expressed my concerns. I have to say he gave the BEST numbing injections I have had in my 65 years. I felt NOTHING during the root canal procedure and was pleasantly surprised when the anesthesia wore off - No sleepless night with pounding pain!! The second day after the root canal I was actually chewing quite normally and had forgotten I had the procedure. I had an awesome experience at Encinitas Endodontic Specialists. I had to have an emergency root canal and I'm so happy that my dentist recommended this place. Nobody likes to have a root canal but Dr. Sechrist was super gentle and he made me feel so at ease. I didn't feel a thing! Just heard the drilling because he had to go through a bridge. I watched TV the whole time and the hour treatment went by very quickly and was pain free, most importantly!! :) His assistant Rosie was awesome too! I should also mention that the staff were great. Wow! Dr. Packer did my route canal and rocked it! I've had a few, so I know what I'm talking about. He was amazingly gentle, encouraging and understanding about my abnormally small mouth. I was in terrible pain and they got me in and taken care of right away. I still had an infection, after, and when the first set of antibiotics didn't work, they brought me right back in and Dr. Roland examined me and gave me a new prescription that ultimately took care of the infection. Excellent care and service. The root canal he did for me was like having a filling and I recovered just as quickly. I had another root canal done by one of his predecessors in the office a few years ago. It has continued to have some pressure and temperature sensitivity off and on. Dr. Packer looked at the tooth and offered to redo the root canal at no charge to me.
