I honestly can't say enough good things about Dr. Kevin Andrus and his team…read more Like most people, I'd heard all the horror stories about root canals, so I walked in expecting the worst. Instead, I felt one tiny pinch at the very beginning to numb the area, and after that... absolutely nothing. No pain at all. About 40 minutes later, he was finished. Dr. Andrus is calm, professional, and incredibly good at what he does. You can tell right away you're in experienced hands. He explained everything as he worked, so I never once wondered what was happening. That made the whole experience so much less stressful. He also told me he's performed over 30,000 root canals, and after my experience, I believe it. What really impressed me was that he used a microscope during the procedure, and because of that the opening he made was incredibly small. I had very little soreness afterward--really just about a day of mild discomfort--and that was it. His assistant was amazing too. He was friendly, helpful, informative, and worked seamlessly with Dr. Andrus. You could tell they have an incredible routine together. The whole process felt organized, efficient, and professional from start to finish. Best of all, all the tooth sensitivity I'd been dealing with before the procedure is completely gone. I'm so glad I finally had it done. If you need a root canal, don't let the stories on the internet scare you. Go see Dr. Kevin Andrus. I never thought I'd be saying this, but it was one of the easiest dental procedures I've ever had.

I have United Healthcare Medicare insurance for medical and it includes a UHC Dental Discount plan. I called local dentists listed on the plan until I found one who could see me. He was horrible, a total scam artist. He said I needed to have the tooth pulled, which I had expected, and a bone graft and he could do it that day for $2848 with no sedation. I am extremely dentist-phobic and wanted sedation and Dr Scam Artist said that would cost $5581. When I got home I logged onto Nextdoor, the neighborhood app, and asked if these were reasonable prices and if not, who people would recommend to pull my tooth. Several people recommended Dr Raymond Ngo so I called his office. Haylee explained his pricing and answered all my questions. The removal and bone graft cost $1100, complete sedation was $980, and Dr Ngo could see me the next day. I made the appointment and I am so glad I did. I got there early because we didn't know how long the drive would take, but Haylee signed me in and the tech took me back for x-rays. Dr Ngo came in a short time later, made sure I understood everything and had no questions, and a few minutes later he said he had the IV needle in my vein and asked if I was feeling groggy. I said no, not yet, and the next thing I knew I was waking up and everything was finished. I was so relieved! My antibiotic and pain meds were waiting at the drugstore near home. I took the antibiotics for the infection, but I never had any pain, fever, or swelling. Dr Ngo called me the next morning to make sure everything was okay, even though he was leaving for an out-of-state vacation! I highly recommend oral surgeon Dr Raymond Ngo, 760-918-0798, 2020 Cassia Rd #102, Carlsbad!

I went to the office and was greeted by the office staff who were very courteous. I was handed a lot of papers to fill out. After waiting a few more minutes, the dental tech came and we exchanged small chit chat. She then escorted me to the exam room. Dr. Le then came in and asked what the problem was. After I shared with him about my sore tooth, he asked if I wanted the root canal right then. I was very surprised and said "yes." He took x-rays and proceeded with the root canal. Well, my experience with Dr. Le and his technician were most favorable. The two of them worked like professionals. There was very little or no conversation and each knew their role. Dr. Le had my kind of music playing (60s and 70s) and every once in a while, Dr. Le would sing along.
