FANTASTIC pizza!!! No shortage of ingredients. Cheese was done the way I like it: a bit under the broiler. Good jalapeno poppers, too. Busboy was a real hustler! Setting up and clearing off. Our server could have been more attentive. read more

Never ever ever recommend this place. I found mold in our beer!!! Told and showed the manager. Then I took my nephews to the bathroom, as I was waiting for them I over heard the server tell other staff that we deserve mold in our beer because that's what you get when you order crappy beer. I confronted the server and the manager backed up the server. Telling me that the server was just blowing off steam. Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?! He manager took off the beer off our tap. I left very angry. Poor management! Poor staff!!!! Moldy beer!!!!! Don't waste your time or money here! read more

The pizza has always been good and have been ordering for over 10 years . That being said ... the things I don't understand is when I call to place an order I will be very nice and well spoken while ordering , but in return I receive a blunt , almost unattached I don't care about you attitude out of everyone who answers the phone . I've come to a conclusion that this will be the last order I ever make to that location . Being in the customer service industry myself , I find it hard to believe that the employees hired to take calls aren't trained in phone educate . Understandably I'm sure these are part time employees , but still , they need to be a little more engaging when taking orders and lose the attitude I'm sure this review will not make or break this business , but sooner or later people will get tired of the crass treatment of your phone staff . read more

I thought excessive sauce and bland pizza was the Plainfield location only. Ive had friends say come to the south side, youll see the difference. Well I met a friend yesterday for lunch buffet at the south side and you know what? It was no different! Kinda odd since Ive passed here before and occasionally went to the pick up window and had slices to go. The crew popped them into the oven to warm up and they were fine. Yesterday I come to the buffet, salad leaves were on the verge of wilting, soup was meh, and the pizza was cold and bland. Later when they brought fresh pizza out, the pizza was hot but bland. $9 for buffet but not worth it. Service was fine, they were there enough, but I cant figure the love given to this chain which consistently produces mediocre pizza. The south suburbs are known for great pizza, why are my friends from that area so hepped up to include this chain which really is only a few steps above fast food pizza. Personally, I actually prefer Jets to this place. Crispier crust, and toppings are almost equal but priced less than Beggars. and less sauce. Beggars needs to do an overhaul of what they're all about. Corporate should ask themselves, did we expand too much? Do we need to make sure we are back to the original recipe? Maybe quality control should sample at a few of these places to see whats gone wrong. Im not recommending any Beggars at this moment. Mokena, New Lenox and Plainfield all a colossal fail currently. read more

On the way to the Jimmy Buffett concert we decided to stop for a pizza and we're glad we stopped here. To start off the place was spotlessly clean...a terrific first impression, secondly we were greeted by Jackie with a big smile and a welcome. Soon we had our drinks and mozzarella sticks....everything was great with the exception of the Mecum car auction being shown on a TV not viewable from our table. What happened next was Super Jackie sprang into action and had the manager change the channel to accommodate my request. It only got better from there....the pizza was excellent...service was great and even signed up for their rewards program to boot. We will gladly return!! read more

I'm not 100% sure this is 5 stars all the time. It was 5 stars for me though. We ordered a sausage, garlic, spinach and extra mushroom thin crust the other night. It was amazing! I can't believe I have never been to this location. This is definitely one of my main pizza places now. They put so much cheese on it. Love it. They get extra points for being friendly when I walked in to pick up. We ordered it really late and I actually didn't even get there until a few minutes after closing time. The staff was still really nice and helpful. read more

Terrible service to bad wait service don't listen to order real classy when they come back from from a break smelling like an ashtray

Just what I was looking for. Great pizza, they definitely don't skimp on the cheese! Garlic cheese bread was also delightful. Staff was very pleasant. Will definitely come back when in the Chicago area. read more

Stopping for a late lunch, early dinner we were pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed a truly well made pizza. Going this time for a deep dish, crust was apparently hand formed and served crisp. Sausage and mushroom plentiful and not a generic blend. Sauce was a very nice chunky tomato with outstanding flavor. The winner was the great cheese, creamy and bountiful. Ice tea served with lemon, nice fresh homemade taste. Host / server Molly was attentive and helpful. read more

I would give this place a zero rating, they're thieves charged me and said apparently I didn't pay and owe $28.00. I showed proof of my payment but they kept insisting I didn't pay, I never got a refund. I don't recommend this place. This happened on January 23, 2022 around 3:20pm. read more

First off, I love Beggars to begin with! This location is great for me because it's on my way to & from work, plus my parents live out this way, so I will forever stop here. I love the fact that they have slices of pizza for sale throughout the day and not just for lunch. I do go there a little too much because some of the employees in the pick up area recognize me when I go in! We tend to stick with the thin crust and like to add sometimes the garlic bread or mozzarella sticks. Recently I noticed the pretzel breadsticks, which I need to try. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program, they don't seem to promote it much inside, so ask about it. You get a free slice for your bday! read more

Beggars always has great pizza. Enough said. Beef sandwich was pretty good also and curly fries were the bomb! Friendly service and nice place. read more

I have a Beggars Pizza near me in Alsip that I usually order pizza from. This location is near my work, so of course, the boyfriend and I decided to go here for lunch. I'd heard from coworkers that they have a lunch buffet and thought we'd find some vegetarian options since we do not eat meat. I was wrong about that. They had a half pizza of cheese up there and we'd probably have fought each for the whole half to ourselves. So we sat and just ordered a pizza of our own. I should add the buffet was really, really small. But so we got a thin crust (I was on lunch and didn't have time to wait for deep dish) with giardiniera and mushrooms. The waitress said it'd take less time because they weren't busy. But it took almost exactly 30 minutes. Oh well, we ate fast and asked for boxes and the check while we were still eating. The waitress took 15 minutes to bring the check over, so we were a little annoyed about our experience. Overall the pizza was good and we'd probably avoid here for lunch time (unless we order in advance). read more

Great place to eat also great friendly place to work staff is respectful as well I love Beggars my favorite pizza place

Ofcourse Beggars is always good, however, I feel like they are using different sausage, which is not as good. They always had great sausage, but i think they changed...not a fan. All of the rest of the toppings were great. read more

Called to order and was on hold for 6 minutes. When they finally picked me up off hold, before I could answer, they hung up on me. When I called back, no apology the person just asked what do I want to order. So, I asked for the manager and to my surprise, he lectured me on how they are only open for 10 more minutes and she is the only order taker and so I guess, as a customer, I just have to accept rude service. More importantly, he told me I am not the only customer calling and she is a 17 girl and I should be more understanding. My thought, I know I am not the only customer calling, but Beggars, you're not the only pizza establish out there. I'll take my business to another pizza place where they value customer service! Unbelieveable. read more

It was such a rainy day and we wanted to try something new in terms of our usual pizza places so we opted for this. My son has been going here with his friends for some time and we have heard good things from others. We were not disappointed. We took our pizza home although the restaurant itself seems fine for dining in. We went for a thin crust half sausage half pepperoni. It was really good. The crust is crispy and the toppings are plentiful. You can tell all of it was quality ingredients not only by the taste but also it was not overly greasy at all as the pizza was not swimming in grease nor was the cardboard soaked in it. We are now fans as this is one very good pie. read more

The pizza was amazing. Typical South Side Chicago style where the cheese and toppings are 3x as thick as the crust. Molly, our server, was fantastic and the atmosphere was exactly as expected: sports bar buzz with the pizzaria atmosphere. Definitely will come here again if the opportunity presents itself (live 50 miles away...). read more

Seems a little pricey but well worth it. No skimping on cheese that's for sure. Definitely will go back.

Hands down the best sausage thin crust in the area! They don't skimp on the toppings and, oh, the cheese!

This may very well be the worst pizza I have ever had from this location. The crust was like cardboard and the pizza had no flavor. Way better pizza elsewhere for a lot less money. To be fair I've had beggars since I was a kid and it was very good. Something about that crust. Had one piece and threw the rest out. May be someone had a bad day. read more

This is probably been the worst service I have ever had in my entire life. The manager was a complete asshole and the staff was no help. I ended up having having to cancel my order. Because they would not do anything about my order taking horrendously long. And then he continued to argue read more

Everytime I order from this location, I am always pleased with food quality and the speed of the delivery!

Is it good pizza? Hell yes! Only problem is is that I dropped $40 for a pizza, 3 drinks and an appetizer. For 3 people? I don't think so. read more

So I walk in to pick up a pizza and find myself talking to some high school kids that work there. Apparently Rick and Sandy just broke up because Sandy cheated on Rick with Matt. I wasn't ready for all this gossip so I stepped outside for a breath of fresh air while still waiting for my pizza. I walk in the second time and Rick gave me my pizza and told me to have a great day! Although the gossip was lame and the kids suck that work here. The pizza was ok..... I like pizza hut better!!!! Staff is all stuck up and think they are big dawgs or something. Although I don't like this place its convenient since I live at the super 8 motel next door. Go for the gossip not the food. read more

I have been coming to Beggars Pizza for years!!! This last time was a great experience just like everytime before this. My aunt and I came her before our Sugarland concert, well actually before our hotel room was ready to get a few drinks and then meet up with friends to eat. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and fast. She let us know that they had pitchers of beer on special for $5.00, can't pass that up. We ordered a pitcher and then it was time for us to check into the hotel...boy was I sad. We ended up coming back the next day to eat, since I talked about the pizza pretty much all night my Aunt said now she had to try it!! We started off with curly cheese fries, they were huge, spicy and hot!! The three of us did not finish them so we could save room for the pizza. I got a small 10 inch mushroom pizza. There pizza is the cheesiest pizza I've ever had....I LOVE IT. The mushrooms were not fresh, I was kinda bummed about this, but still really good. They are a littttttle pricey for their pizza, but I think they get to be when it is this good, they also have coupons if you are planning on going there, sadly we werent so I didnt bring mine. If you have never tried it, you gotta go!!! I cant wait tilI I'm back in the area to get some more!!! read more

Pizza was better than expected. Went in to try the deep dish slices but got there after 3 pm and apparently 3 pm is the end of single deep dish slices. Traveling alone so didn't need a small pizza to myself. Opted for the thin crust sausage slice. Very good flavors. Good amount of cheese and sausage topping. I would love to go back one day to try the deep dish. read more

My husband and I have been fans of Beggar's thin crust and gluten free pizza for a long time now. Last month we hired them to cater a large party for us. We received so many compliments on the food! It was a huge hit. We ordered over $700 in food: lasagnas, baked most, garlic bread, sausage, Italian beef, and family size pizzas. The portions were bigger than advertised and they even gave us a lot of extra garlic bread for free. The order was delivered on time and very hot, and the delivery guy helped us set up. (They don't charge for set up, and delivery is only $3 no matter how huge the order!). I have zero complaints about this location. Thanks again- you guys made our party a huge hit!!! read more

Don't eat their potato munchers. Still cold in the center. Ate 4 and got instant diarrhea. Husband also felt sick after eating their pizza.

Ordered pizza a few times over the years. It's just OK. It's better than Foxs, not quite as good as Nancys IMO.

I've ordered pizzas from here many times and I've always been good never a bad one and always on time I've also had their Italian beef which I think is the best I've ever had great restaurant a little pricey but very good food read more

Good buffet with a nice thin crust, though not a very impressive crust, the good comes from the loads of delicious cheese on it.

Delicious pizza....ridiculously HIGH price. $31 for ONE family sized pizza...crazy...only order on payday!!! :-)

Excellent pizza, wings not so much. Seating decent for the location. Loyal to the community and accommodating for teams.

Being from Phoenix, we don't usually do deep dish or Chicago thin crust. I have to say, Beggar's was one of the best I've had in both categories. It's also a great place to relax and watch the Hawks while having a cold beer from their nice selection of brews. I will go back if I'm ever in the area. read more

Ordered delivery today for the first time. I've tried most pizza places in the area, but I'd never tried Beggars. It's been recommended to me by a few folks who know I love cheesy pizza. Most of the negative reviews on Yelp seem to pinpoint on the staff and the managers anyway. I ordered grubhub delivery. It came 20 minutes before ETA. Personally I was impressed with the entire experience. I ordered loaded nachos and they were still hot upon delivery. The nachos are the best version of your typical loaded nachos. They pile most of the toppings so chips dont get soggy. Also ordered medium cheese and pepperoni pizza. So cheesy and so mad I waited so long to order from here. Cant wait to order again. read more

Ordered online! Nice and easy. Have ordered from here for years. Tastes great and always professional. Really love this place.

I have been eating Beggar's pizza since shortly after the original one opened up on Western Av in Blue Island. I have ate at the mokena restaurant since they opened also and have always been a big fan, but somewhere along the way the Mokena location started using lesser quality ingredients. I had a Italian beef last week and was amazed at the quality of the beef. I would compare it to low quality deli counter beef. When I picked up the food I also noticed they have the Barilla pasta sauce logo next to their pasta selections in the pickup area. What kind of pizza/Italian restaurant uses jar sauce?? I know times are tough but come on Beggar's it's time to step up your game or you've lost a longtime customer. read more

This review isn't so much about the food (which was pretty good), but more about the character of the people. I left my AirPods on the table the night before and I realized the day after I had lost them. Thinking that this was a long shot, I called the restaurant and they had them. I would like to thank the waitress and the manager for their honesty and would recommend. read more
