Beggar's pizza is definitely good. Love the thick layers of cheese and ingredients. The location in crown point disappointed us. We went to dine-in and had to wait 15 minutes, but when we walked in to be seated most of the tables were empty. Since then we just normally carry-out if we have a taste for beggar's pizza. Pizza in crown point is getting very competitive, and if service is not there neither am I. read more

Food was good but extremely slow. It took over an hour to get two small thin crust pizzas. We had our apps fast but then had them eaten and waited for 45 min before our pizza finally came. If we would have ordered deep dish, I would understand but a thin and an extra thin? With so many good pizza places in Crown Point, probably will just go somewhere else. read more

The pizza here is so good! They aren't skimpy on the cheese! The sauce is great! The employees are friendly! The location is clean! They have a great ayce buffet that includes items that are not on the menu such as sausage, soups, and desserts. The decor is fun too and reminiscent of Chicago history! Many tvs going! Excellent dine in service today with our waitress Terra. The pizza was cooked perfectly and loaded with cheese and toppings as you would expect from Beggars. Only got 4 stars because we ordered some chicken strips for the youngest amd they came out 15 minutes before our pizza. Normally I would send them back but put several chicken strips in front of a 9 year old and then take them away, you might have a full blown war on your hands. Anyways, food was excellent. read more

Gave the stuffed pizza a try tonight. Very disappointed. We ate in so I expected the stuffed pizza to be piping hot. Upon arrival the inside of the pizza was cold. The outer crust steaming hot. The inside ice cold. The reason you dine in for this style off pizza is to enjoy it piping hot. Stick with the normal thin crust. Service was outstanding no issues there. read more

Today I took my boys here for the lunch buffet. Usually buffets work well because it's less wait time for the kids. When we informed the hostess that we were there for the buffet, she told us we could seat ourselves, and she took our drink order. The tables in the room where the buffet is located were all spacious, but some had salt, pepper, sugar, crushed red pepper, and grated cheese, and some did not. Not a big deal, but also not very organized and ready for customers. Our drinks arrived rather quickly, and I headed up to the buffet to make plates for my 2 and 7 year olds. Today's buffet consisted of mostacholi, garlic bread, beef vegetable soup, fried fish nuggets, fried chicken wings(no sauce), salad, pizza, and a large chocolate chip cookie sliced like a pizza. When I started opening the buffet trays I was surprised by the lack of food. I was able to get my kids some mostacholi and a chicken wing, but the pizza choices were minimal, and what was there looked like it had been there for a while. We arrived about a half hour after the buffet had started, so it wasn't like we were getting there right before they were going to shut it down. I figured no big deal, they will bring out more food soon. I made myself a salad, and grabbed one slice of pizza, and headed back to the table. I kept an eye out to see if they brought out more food, and saw nothing. Finally, I saw a waitress bring out one pizza, which everyone attacked because by this time several people were waiting for fresh food. I finally stopped a waitress and complained about the lack of food available, and she said she would send someone right over. The waitress in charge of the buffet came over and said the kitchen was backed up (they weren't very busy), but she was doing everything she could. A little while later another pizza appeared. Still no chicken or other food. The waitress then brought 4 chicken wings directly to our table. This was a nice gesture. A little while later, a new chocolate chip cookie appeared. By the time I left, the buffet was still lacking, and I felt bad for the other customers. The waitress talked to the manager and comped our meal, which was great, but honestly, I would have rather paid for a good experience. I tipped our waitress generously because none of this was her fault, and she was very apologetic. It would have been nice if the manager had made an appearance, but I never saw him or her. I think it was unprofessional for the manager to force the waitress to deal with the situation herself. Perhaps he or she could have even lent a hand to get the buffet back on track...... I've been to this buffet before, and we didn't have any issues, so I'm not convinced that we will never return. However, if today had been our first experience, it also would have been our last. read more

Call before you go, this place closes the doors when they want. Second time going here at 9 and doors where locked. Only carry out open. Hours state restaurant closes at 10, not the case. The only good thing going for this business is their Pizza. read more

Great food but marginal service at best. The "manager" on a Saturday night was doing nothing while the bartender had to help out the ONE waitress. Definitely need a new person running things to bring he service up. But man the pizza is GOOD. read more

Well I guess you shouldn't order the taco pizza or dine in, but hey you don't have to, they deliver! Lol. (Take note pervious reviewer talking about driving to Winfield to pick up : / )The pizza is pretty good, the app platter was good, (and had chicken wings which weren't on the online menu so that was a bonus), and they delivered well before the hour promised. They do use canned mushrooms, and the crust isn't quite as thin and crispy as my favorite C. P. Pizza place, but they moved and haven't opened yet, so this was an acceptable back up plan. I've gone to a few different pizza places traveling through this area over the years. I'd say it was just average. With all the great pizza places in this area I think you could definitely do better. My family ordered a few different pizzas, they messed up one order but made it right by giving us the messed up one for no extra charge. Prices also weren't too bad. Service was kind of slow for the middle of the day but nothing horrible. read more

Today's 5-8-19 it's 2:10 pm . I came into the pizza place to purchase pizza slices and was greeted by a very unwelcoming face and attitude as well from the sales clerk in the carry out area by the name of Dara. She was very impatient and had A very rude and nasty attitude to match. Had it not been for another employee who was very pleasant and welcoming assisting Dara I would have walked out and taken my business elsewhere. Dara does not seem much of a people person and should not be working with the public. In my opinion she should be in the kitchen FAR FAR AWAY from your potential customers that are coming in for carry out! Dara her rude attitude and nasty demeanor should be retrained on customer service!! I love the food but hate the service. I'm incredibly disappointed with beggars pizza in Crown Point. I had a birthday party for my two children, one and four, and I didn't get one slice of pizza. The server didn't introduce herself to me. The only time she ever spoke to me was when I was running around the restaurant looking for someone who worked there because we had no plates, cups, silverware, napkins, and for God's sake pizza. When I called to tell the manager, Jillian, she made excuses (she was working at the time and never came back to check on the party). Then she said to me,"I can't do anything for you, you should have said something to me yesterday. I'm not sure what you want me to do." Outrageous. The worst part is that the pizza is so good. I'm giving it four stars because I really like the Pizza however the rest of the food is just so-so. The greeters at the door need a lot of work. The people who answer the phone need even more work. The drivers are great. Order here very often at least once a week. No better Pizza in the Crown Point area. Really need to work though on the people skills of their employees they're just not up to snuff in terms of the young people at the front and those answered the phone. Folks who work in the bar are awesome. read more

I recently held my baby shower here and couldn't believe how easy it was to coordinate with the staff. I was able to pick out my own menu, decorate the room and even use the photo booth. Couldn't have been happier with Beggars! read more
