We ended up here last minute and lucked out with happy hour. Our waiter, Sean, gave great service and recommendations. I didn't get many food pics, but here's the scoop. I had that drink with the buzz button--can't recall the name, but it was awesome. You sip it, eat the flower, your tongue starts tingling, then you take another sip, which is a cool experience. I've always wanted to try one. My brother liked his meal, and we grabbed a few more cocktails and some dollar happy hour oysters. Most happy hour portions aren't really for sharing; they're better for one person. The chicken skewers were tiny--like, smaller than two nuggets--but hey, if it works, it works. My toddler loved them, lol. I think my brother had a lamb dish and I got the burger. Both were solid; he even liked my burger. The service was phenomenal and I'd definitely come back for those happy hour oysters.

Come for the happy hour if you love oysters! $1! Such a steal. We had a great experience with friendly, attentive service. While the regular menu is on the pricier side, it's absolutely worth stopping by for their daily happy hour specials. The location is another bonus, it's right by the beach, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing stroll along the water after your meal.

The view is amazing! I came here with my husband for dinner. They had a good selection of drinks and food. There is plenty of outdoor settings along with indoor. Their oysters were fresh! Definitely whatever sauce they use, it was good. I did eat their wasabi like paste with it and it was very strong so be careful! It was beautifully plated and am very thankful for the staff on providing such an amazing experience as well as quick delivery!

My friend and I stopped in to try happy or buzzy hour since they offer $1 oysters. On top of that they were kumiai, so I ordered a half dozen. They are served up deliciously with mignonette and horseradish! We also ordered the octopus ceviche that reminded me of a dish I had in Lisbon. My friend had the Surfliner Spritz, refreshing and crisp! And I couldn't resist the house Sauvignon Blanc for $6. I'd return to try more of the menu. The service was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is in a great location above Prospect with pleasing view and modern decor! HH 3-6 Daily!

Come for the views, stay for the buzz. Buzzy Hour runs daily 3-6 PM at @beesidebalconydelmar @beesidebalconylajolla with @chefchristophec (La Jolla & Del Mar) with $1 oysters, coastal bites, drink specials, honey beer, and burger deals--plus all-day happy hour Mondays. This is your sign to join the hive.

I would like to leave this message for the management team. The service at this restaurant was honestly unacceptable. I visited around 4.20 PM on Tuesday when the restaurant was not busy. I constantly had to look for my server, whenever I needed something. No one seemed interested in checking on guests or providing basic service. What frustrated me the most was the attitude. When my server finally came to my table, her attitude and choice of words were rude and completely inappropriate for someone working in hospitality. After this experience, I'm not surprised to see so many reviews mentioning poor service. Management seriously needs to pay more attention to what is happening on the floor because this level of service is driving customers away.

We had a group dinner here our first night in town and the outdoor setting was lovely on a cool, spring evening. We started with charcuterie and spread boards which were good; the artichoke spread was a winner for me! The wine list had great options by the glass and I broke rules pairing a pinot noir with fish, but did not get any judgmental looks about that. The barramundi was delicious and the perfect light entree after a long day of travel. Service was good and food came out quickly. This is a great spot for a quiet relaxing dinner with fresh and lighter options.

Went here for happy hour on Sunday. They have daily happy hour, including $1 oysters, which is a huge deal for my boyfriend who's from New England! As you can see in the photo, we ordered a ton for the four of us. Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly, and would always check up on us providing great service. They also have $4 beers and little happy hour meals that you can order for a great deal. The location is also great and has ocean views from the outside deck. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

Was fortunate to find this place. They have great seats outside the balcony overseeing the street and ocean. The octopus was grilled and seasoned perfectly. If I lived nearby, I would come here weekly. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The blackened tuna was delicious. This place should have a line out the door. Delicious food and great hospitality. Was here on a work trip from Los Angeles, but if I ever am in the area, I will definitely stop by. Excellent all around!

Cute little restaurant with a great view of La Jolla. Service was a bit slow and seemed completely uninterested about being there. Yet still was friendly. The salad was fresh and the gyro was enjoyed.

Fresh seafood And delicious food. Great happy hour with $1 oysters, street tacos, truffle fries, meatballs and more! Nice ambiance overlooking La Jolla. Close to downtown La Jolla and walking distance to beach. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Nice vibe!

Came here during the World Cup and during their happy hour. We ordered oysters, sangria and a martini. The balcony seating area has amazing views. We sat in the bar area and had amazing service.

Thankfully, my guest enjoyed her meal. I thought the food was fine. I've seen your responses to prior guests, Kamal, so I don't have any expectations other than receiving a generic response also. We, too, paid about the same as Masha for our two meals with no drinks and one order of hummus and pita bread--close to $80.00. There were a few things that surprised us, especially for The Cove, that made us have buyers' remorse, although I do take ownership for suggesting your restaurant after noticing it during our walk. 1.) Not only in La Jolla, but for any reputable restaurant located anywhere, the goal should always be "customer obsession." We did not plan to come to your restaurant, but because the one we intended to visit nearby had already closed, we stopped into Zoya as a hopeful alternative. Unfortunately, we were seated shortly before the kitchen was due to close. However, customers that earnestly enter your establishment during business hours shouldn't feel that pressure--we did. It was communicated to us in a manner that pressured us to make a rapid decision as to what to order. It could have just been a training opportunity, which we thought it was, but unfortunately I think it's in your restaurant's culture/DNA. Why? There were about 6-8 other guests already eating inside, and yet, by the time our dinner came out, your staff were already putting chairs on top of empty tables throughout the restaurant, and on tables next to diners as they ate. It felt like the whole place was shutting down around us and our food had just arrived! I don't believe a majority of your guests ever truly intend to come in at the last minute before closing to spite your employees, but it left me wondering about the lack of hospitality we all experienced. 2.) As my guest and I were sat outside in a dimly lit area, your waiters, as a courtesy, should ALWAYS proactively point out that your business adds a 4% charge for all credit cards when closing out the bill. Only customers that retain a receipt might notice that stipulation, but it wasn't entirely clear that we were charged more until after-the-fact. Additionally, your receipts have a two-tiered category of suggested tips (e.g., Tip (30%) $19.84 and suggest tip adjacent to one that says $19.07 on our bill, so on, and so on, further creating confusion. And lastly, 3.) Please update your in-restaurant menus. I'm 100% certain that your menu lists/listed a Chicken Shawarma bowl for $19.00, yet we were charged $22.00 each (not inclusive of tax). Hummus and Pita bread was $14. So between menu pricing discrepancies, no mention of the 4% extra charge for using a credit card, and tip amounts on your POS terminals instantly suggesting tips from 18-30% at your business, it's easy to understand Masha's perplexity, and surely many others' surprise, along with an uneasy feeling of 'what just happened?' after leaving your restaurant. Tips are earned, and although the 'closing-down-soon-service' was not at all appreciated, we still left one of the suggested tip amounts in the spirit of generosity. I sincerely hope you'll take the appropriate steps to properly train your staff, unambiguously correct your menu pricing, and create an atmosphere of CUSTOMER OBSESSION that makes patrons feel valued, want to return beyond a "special occasion," and add to your list of 5-star reviews. I ordered the zardaloo chalow (stewed apricots) with lamb and the yaqoot chalow (stewed cherries) with lamb. Both dishes were served with a generous portion of basmati rice. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in La Jolla!

It felt very fancy and was one of the most exotic things I have eaten in a long time. We also got the dolmas (grapes leaves) and the Bolani (turnover stuffed with leek and potatoes) as an appetizer. The dolmas were ok, but the bolani was exceptional, like a leek and potato quesadilla but lighter. It was hard to put into words. Just order it and enjoy! Lastly, for drinks we got a Cherry Blossom Tea (Sheer Chai). Again, it tasted like nothing I have ever ordered before, which is hard to do because we are adventurous eaters. It tasted like cream straight from the cow mixed with a cherry blossom-y and strawberry-ish Chai flavor+ black tea flavor. One of the best drinks that I have experienced in 2025 by far. For the La Jolla neighborhood and how fancy the inside feels, the prices were similar to any regular sit down restaurant. Quite the bargain for the bouquet of flavors and beautifully executed dishes that we had. I would definitely recommend them.
