First time visit. We have heard of the Kebab Shop from friend back home in Brea, so luckily we found a location during our day trip to North San Diego County. Well it did not disappoint. The sauces are great. Try the chili sauce with some garlic yogurt. Wifey had the grilled chicken bowl, and I had the beef and lamb. Will admit hers was better. My beef and lamb was tasty, but the slices were unmanageably long - couldn't dip them in the sauces. Yes they do have plastic knives, but I was hoping for tenderness. Overall the combination of flavors was great satisfying and the staff was super nice and professional. Restroom was clean as well as the venue. Definitely making it to our rotation. I've been to other locations and it's safe to say they maintain the standard across all locations!! Came in on a Sunday for lunch and was so excited to eat but I wanted something healthy. We walked in and only waited about 2 minutes in line. The inside had plenty of seating with really nice wall art and photos everywhere. The woman working there took our order and was very patient as we asked questions. She was very kind when she gave me the code to the bathroom too. We ordered a Grains bowl with mixed meats, both chicken and lamb, saffron rice and added romaine lettuce. We also ordered the San Diego wrap and added grilled sirloin steak to it. The grain bowl was so balanced, I added the dill yogurt sauce and the Jalapeño sauce to my bowl which just brought all the flavors together so perfectly. The saffron rice was cooked perfectly also with great flavors the lettuce was crisp, and the red cabbage slaw, picked onions and tomato and cucumber just gave every bite such a fresh taste! It was a perfect meal! The San Diego wrap was well toasted, the fries inside were fresh and the grilled sirloin steak had a nice smokey taste that gave such an authentic flavor to the entire wrap! A little pricey for portion size but tasted great. One single piece of Beef Kofta +2 sides came out to ~$20 (w/o a drink or tip). The place was very clean and had plenty of indoor seating (also a few seats outside). Service was fast and friendly. Parking lot is always busy but never had an issue finding a spot. Trolley stop is in the same lot. I took my order to go, glad I grabbed a few sauces from the "sauce bar". They added needed flavor to the dish. The rice and falafel sides wouldn't have been as good with them. Only reason I wouldn't go back is due to portion size vs price. read more

While I still love this place, I think this was the worst experience I've had at any of their locations. My guy and I split a Chicken plate with Chickpea Salad and Jalapeno Hummus. The hummus was the only enjoyable part of the meal. while the chicken was dry and the chickpea salad had zero flavor to it. It was very disappointing because the chickpea salad has always been my favorite part and one of the main reasons I enjoy eating at Kebab Shop. Oof big miss here basically wanted to come here because again the kids love this place. It's usually a solid spot. We order catering from the Kebab Shop here on via La Jolla and we also do family dinners here pretty frequently. What happened was when I bit into my chicken kebab wrap I bit into this hard thorn like stick that pretty much stabbed me. Please see the picture and when I brought it up to the staff, they were explaining it as a piece of charcoal, but I said that this was much harder than charcoal felt like plastic, and it was very long and inside my food wrap. I don't know what to do from here. I still have the piece and I am just surprised that they were explaining the item to me has just charcoal and it was fine. If it was just charcoal, it would easily break, but this was as hard as a piece of plastic. They did do a quick apology and said they would remake my wrap.
