I was killing time in Lexington waiting to grab dinner with a couple of friends and decided to pop in for a shallac manicure since mine was looking pretty shabby. Beersheba was the closest and best rated place nearby, so I headed over. The place was nearly empty, so I didn't have to wait at all to pick a color and start the manicure. The price of $35 seemed fairly high, but I decided to go for it anyway. Overall, it was one of the better manicures I have had, and included the gel manicure, a massage, and paraffin wax. It was pretty lengthy too, at around 50 or so minutes. Overall, the experience was likely worth the price. However, despite the fact that the experience was great, my nails started chipping on the tips within just two days. This was highly disappointing! Yes they do a good massage on your feet and shoulders while getting a pedicure and manicure. They are extremely over priced compared to other salons in the area. The posters have grammar mistakes, some of the staff did not understand English even enough to communicate with a client about the shape of the nail wanted. I was getting a manicure. One younger man started nail filing each hand. I asked for a rounded shape. When an older gentleman took over his job - this man filed my nails almost all the way down to my skin. It was atrocious! Then I tried to tell them that my nails were fine length before the older gentleman took over and then he filed them WAY too low - it hurt! They did not understand. They kept misunderstanding my english and kept asking if I wanted "rounded or straight" when I repeatedly said I wasn't complained about the shape but rather the length. I feel bad to share this experience but I felt just annoyed with their service the whole time. I was left sitting in my chair for 20 minutes half painted while many technicians were wandering to and fro - I was just abandoned. I later found out that the girl who did my toes went home as her shift ended. WTH! Anyway, there are much more professional salons in the area. Try Lex Nails. My friend has tried their pedicure there and foot massage there was fabulous. Her pedicure stayed over 3 weeks so far and no chips, etc. They prefer check or cash over credit card. I have come here twice now and have had the best experiences getting manicures and pedicures. I was able to call the same day for an appt and there was no wait when I got here (morning times). During my pedicure I usually like to read but here I couldn't help and close my eyes because it is so relaxing. My favorite part is the foot/leg massage during the pedicure. It is heaven! Just tried them today as on a whim I wanted a mani/pedi and they had an APT. They were Awesome! I had Tia and she was great. The Spa mani/pedi included a hot rock rub down and paraffin dip for the hands, all for $70. Some salons when doing a shellac polish short change you, they just do all the goodies AFTER, a nice scrub, a awesome massage and lotion, then paraffin. BEST Mani/pedi I've had in years. I've been in a few times over the past few years. I absolutely love their little 'extras': The massage while your nails are trying, hot stone during the manicure, heating wrap for your shoulders. Most recent visit was for a gel manicure. It was a beautiful afternoon, so while all of Lex Center was buzzing, inside it was dead as a doornail. $35 for gel manicure plus $5 to remove the gels I already had on. Worst gel manicure I've had in a long time. Chipped after TWO days. Even my 89 yr old grandmother's gel manicure chipped in less then a week and it's not like she works a lot with her hands. Really felt like this was a rush job. They spent a long time on the pedi and were quick in the mani. This place gets two stars only because I called for an appointment for three mani/pedis on a Saturday and they were able to take us pretty much right away. Probably because no one else goes there. We were the only customers there in the 1 1/2 hours we spent at the salon. And of course services were overpriced but that's due to their Lexington location. $350 for all of us with tip. read more

You'd think Yelp would keep businesses in line and on the up and up, but I guess not. I went in for a basic $15 manicure, which was mostly fine, although I had to further trim my cuticles one hour later. I will say that the neck and shoulder massage was great (Sarah has great strong hands), but the communal paraffin pot struck me as unhygienic. I never get polish on my nails, but instead always have my nails buffed to a shine. When it came time to pay, I was told my manicure cost $20, that having my nails buffed was a $5 upcharge. This is the first time I have ever been charged an additional amount for buffing in lieu of polish. I should note that at the time there was only one other customer, who was finishing up, in the vast salon. Perhaps I was needed to subsidize the absent customers. I let it go but decided I would pay by credit card, and was badly informed that the credit card reader wasn't working. The lie was so obvious it was too laughable. Anyway, there are too many nail salons in Lexington, which in my experience have more integrity and cheaper prices for the services I want, for me to return to such a shady salon. read more

I have had several pedicures here and found them to be excellent. The massage chairs are amazingly relaxing and the pedicure itself is thorough and professional with outstanding results. I have never had a summer pedicure look so good for so long. My sister and I went here with my 11 year old niece and 13 year old daughter, for mom-daugher mani-pedi's. We all had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly, and someone even went out to feed the parking meter with my daughter while I was finishing up. The salon was the cleanest I have been to, with a fun granite manicure counter that we could sit around with, and see each other and chat. The pedicure was very relaxing, with a scrub / leg massage that left me feeling very relaxed. This also came with a mini massage that felt wonderful. We all left very pleased. I had a mani-pedi combo. I had two ladies work on me. The gal who worked on my feet did not speak English so the woman in charge spoke with her regarding what I wanted. Several times, the gal who worked on my pedicure did something that was painful (on my big toes) and I winced and told the gal who was working on my fingernails that it was painful. She said something to the pedicurist but it happened a couple more times. Ouch! I paid a little extra for callous removal on my heels and did not think it was over and beyond any normal pedicure I have had anywhere else (for the extra $). I had to travel the next day for 2 family celebrations in another state. My fingernails began to chip the next day and by the second celebration(4 days later), they looked horrible despite trying to be careful of what I did (mostly I was driving!!). My cuticles were not trimmed very well. I was disappointed. The salon is very beautiful. Everyone was friendly and nice, but I felt like things were rushed and my manicure and pedicure did not last very long, sadly. read more

I've gone back and forth with this place. After a great first experience, had a bad second one, better third (for a basic pedicure) and then, finally, a mediocre fourth. Bottom line- I won't be going back. The basic pedicure is $37, and includes all sorts of perks like hot stone massage and parrafin and then shoulder and neck massage of the neck and shoulders while you dry. What they apparently did away with is ANY attention to your foot itself. They didn't even scrub my heel (wasn't looking for a callous remover), so my toes looked fine, but the rest of my foot had simply just been soaked. I could do that at home. So, the "basic" is now *very* basic and they now have an assembly-line feeling, which is not what I expect from a toe polish for $37. I guess they have to charge the prices they do to pay what must be an exorbitant Lexington Center rent. I loved this place the first time. Now, I won't go back. read more

When you first walk into Beersheba, you can tell they are made for the afternoon rush of nail appointments. Luckily I happened to come in @ 1pm on a Wednesday so it was nice and quiet. Let me back up and say my husband called in the previous day and paid for my services. It was a surprise for me so I was clueless as to what I was getting done or what the costs of things were supposed to be. (Here's what my husband has to say: We, meaning Beersheba and myself, agreed on three services for a particular price. I was charged differently than the agreed upon amount. I was called by them and told I needed to come in and pay an additional 15 and then told a different story later that they owed me 15. They stopped payment on one charge, charged me in the increased amount and then reapplied the first charge on top of the 2nd. They then tried to fix it and credited me 1500. At that point my credit card company shut my card down. I called and had it resolved with them, but Beersheba still had a double charge. Their "bank" called me and told me i had to go into their office to settle up. Nope. Don't use a card here.) Now onto my appointment. When I walked in they said hello and asked my name. I told them and they said "Mani/pedi right?". I said I didn't know and they quietly ushered me over to the colors and told me to pick one. I browsed for a while and couldn't decide on a nail color so I asked the girl who had addressed me before if I could just get a french manicure (white tips with pink polish). She said sure. I asked if it was the same price as everything else and she muttered "Ya. Uh huh." under her breath. Again I had no idea what had been paid for or what the cost difference (if any) was. After that I picked a color for my toes, which i decided on a nice bright orange (or what appeared to me as a bright orange). I was then called over to the pedicure chair and the young girl signaled for me to put my feet in. I will say their foot massage was REALLY nice. They used a sugar scrub, hot stones, and did a really nice massage that was very relaxing. Remember that orange color I picked out? She set that one aside and stood up and grabbed a silver base....i never remembered saying i wanted silver under my orange polish...she then proceeded to file my nails, apply the silver base and then apply the orange over that. I sat quietly watching, hoping it would turn out better than I had imagined and be something I liked anyway! In the end it came out looking a shade of green with an odd shimmer. "Oh well", I said. I took that as my fault for not saying anything. Next she did my nails. Really nothing spectacular but not bad either! Seemed a bit rushed but that could have been because she spent extra time on my pedicure. Nothing about this service really stood out to me besides the polish. She did the manicure fine. The lines were straight, there weren't many bubbles, and I liked the pink hue that she used for the main portion of my nails. What I didn't care for was the gel polish peeling back from my nail before I could even leave the salon. I don't know what causes this, but I have never experienced it from any other salon manicure I have ever received. Here I am a week later and most of my polish is gone or close to. My third and final service was a wax. The girl doing my wax asked me what I was getting done. I had no idea. She stood there and stared while I fumbled around and tried to text my husband really quick. She then said "Oh I think you are supposed to get a bikini" and I said ok that's fine and got it done. -Side note: Wax took much longer than I expected and was not a bikini. If anything it was a reverse bikini. Also there was another girl that worked there laying on a massage table almost the whole time. She swung the door open to come in when i was laying there mid-wax....Awkward! Seemed like she was trying to take a nap but I'm unsure. After the wax when I went to go obtain a receipt to give my husband they told me that we owed a different amount than they had been paid. The owner (older gentleman) proceeded to argue with me as to what services I received and showed me a brochure that had handwritten amounts on everything (over print). After three attempts to explain that I had received a bikini wax not a Brazilian I gave up. I walked out and called my husband and he took it from there. See above for a brief explanation. Basically the charged me $10 extra for a french gel manicure (even though i was told it was the same price) and $55 for the BRAZILIAN I was supposed to get even though I only got a bikini. After my husband talked back and forth with them I went in the next day and received the Brazilian I was supposed to receive and a receipt for the lower charged amount. The lady I spoke to the following day was much more helpful and willing to listen to my concern. Overall I did not appreciate the customer service aspect of this place or their organization in regards to pricing or services. read more

I'm a regular customer and love this place! This is a family owned and operated business. The staff are all very nice. The quality of the services I have had is very high - we go for pedicures. I take my 85 y/o mother who has mobility issues - the staff are incredibly accomodating and make sure she has a great experience. The lady who started my pedicure rushed so much that she cut almost whole tip of my little toe!!! It Hurt. She didn't apologize, patted blood pretending it didn't happen; and put my foot back in the tub with dirty water. I didn't realize how bad it was until a different person came to massage my legs and paint my toes, my toe was bleeding so much that they had to use liquid bandage. The second person (his name was Sam) was actually really good, took his time and was detailed oriented, he was the one who didn't ignore the issue, cleaned the wound and asked for assistance putting ointment/bandage on it; I wish I had him from the start. He apologized and gave me gift card for next time (like I'm coming back there!) and didn't charge me for that pedi. The lady who injured my toe (I wish I knew her name, older, lots make up, red lipstick), only said smiley "soorry" when I was at the door leaving. I run everyday and my job is active as well, right now I can't even stand fully in my foot because cut is so bothersome and touching toe next to it), I'm beyond mad. Horrible 1st experience! The shop had a rush of clients and the several techs that worked on my hands and feet, rushed my service all of the way through... This was supposed to be "a relaxing birthday treat to myself". They stood over me, giving me no time to choose a color, they did a horrible paint job, they cut my cuticles, and the tools were reused. Very disappointed with the services I received. I got the lavender spa pedicure and a shellac manicure which in my opinion were a huge waste of money. My cuticles were barely touched and the toe polish was lumpy. As for the manicure, the polish chipped after about a week! Most shellac manicures last as least 1.5 - 2 weeks. Won't not go back. I received a coupon in the mail the first time ($25 for mani/pedi) and really enjoyed myself here. It was very relaxing and the workers were absolutely kind and really took care of me! They also had the paraffin wax and hot rock massage which was heavenly! I came here again with my husband and daughter and again they were just as wonderful to us as the first time I went for my mani/pedi. Next time I think I'm gonna go for the green tea spa as I saw this woman who was getting a green tea spa and was raving the whole time about how wonderful it felt. I went here because I received a postcard for both a mani/pedi for $25! I expected a quick mani/pedi but I was totally surprised and happy to receive the best mani/pedi I've ever had. Great leg and hand messages, parafin treatments on both hands and feet that I never expected. The hot stone message on the feet was soooo relaxing and nice. The dead heal skin was all removed and very gently too. I loved the neck and arm messages while my hails were dryng. Everything was terrific. I went a week ago and I have to say that my mani is still chip free!!! I also went to the Cape for 3 days and have taken long walks on the sand and my mani is still perfect. This place is definitely a keeper and I've spread the word to all my friends that this is the place to go. I'm not sure who the other folks who gave poor reviews got for nail techs but my experience was wonderful and totally oposite from their experiences.
