    336th T-birds 2021 reunion

We come here every year for a helicopter reunion at 369 Helicopter Museum. We always stop here with the group. This year I was a day late for the Beef O' Brady's dinner so we can In for lunch. I typically got a burger but got the Big catch. (Salads are healthy right?). This had to be the best piece of fish I've had this year! Amazing! Fresh salad and great dressing but the fish was outstanding. Kudos to the chef!

I know Beef 'O'Bradys has been in Peru for a number of years. Just never had the chance to go. We were all surprised by the interior. The restaurant looked clean and in good repair. Our server did a great job. Their prices are very reasonable. My Cousins got Rubens with Fries and they loved them. My husband got a Chefs Salad. It was huge and had a great amount of meats on it. He was very happy with it. I got a bunless 5 cheese burger with bacon. The bacon was crispy and it had tons of cheese on it. The burger itself was very good. We will remember to come back when we are in Peru.

After more visits to Beef O' Brady's, I'm updating my review. Even though I am not always a fan of chains, I believe this one is locally owned. It's the nicest dining option I've come across in Peru. This town is full of fast food, pizza, beyond divy dives, and not much else. Beef O' Brady's has a clean environment with a bright, sporty feel to it. Since there are lots of televisions with vivid reception, you'll probably catch part of a game for a team you like. The prices seem to have increased on what already felt a bit high. However, considering what you get at Beef O'Brady's compared to other local spots which are extremely overpriced, I'd say you have a much better chance of getting your money's worth here. For an Impossible burger and fries alone, you'd pay almost as much at a well-known fast food joint across town for a sloppy and less tasty version carelessly thrown in a bag. Here, the food indeed tastes good AND is nicely presented. Thankfully, Beef O'Brady's has vegan and vegetarian options which are not easy to come by around here. My most recent booth experience in the main dining area was enjoyable but flawed. I would normally applaud a server for not having to write down orders, but she'd forgotten a few things for which we'd asked. Not a huge deal but definitely busy and in need of a pen and pad of paper. The dollar upcharge someone at my table received for a tiny cup of ranch on two for one wing night was disappointing. Another server who was friendly & ran us some of our food and drinks had a child helping. While cute, I can't help but think that seemed a bit unprofessional and unsanitary. Speaking of children, Beef O'Brady's is accommodating, although the aisles can get tight when highchairs are in use. The grilled cheese didn't look super appetizing, but they did have more than a few options for kids. They also have a small arcade. I last dined at the bar in the back where the best service can be obtained, and Ross did not disappoint. He pours a great draft beer and makes the best Old Fashioned I've had in my life. While the latter is on the pricey side at nearly $10, it was worth the splurge. He made food suggestions I hadn't realized were offered, made great conversation, and made me feel welcome all while also taking care of others at the bar and in the booths behind us. It's not often I come across someone with the talent and professionalism Ross has. I'd definitely return just to see Ross and sit at the bar again. His stellar hospitality earned Beef O'Brady's an extra star. After writing this, I decided to head into the bar around dinner time on a Monday. Not too busy on most weeknights. A large Killian's on draft is only $4.50. Just one dollar more than a pint. The Monday burger special doesn't include the Impossible burger, but I got one anyway sans tomato just because they don't like me anymore. Subbed for onions. I also added grilled mushrooms for $0.99 more. Good music, plenty full, and lots of fun for just over twenty bucks before tip. A couple of servers that came into the bar area didn't have a friendly vibe, but most did. Jami, our bartender, was fun and took great care of us.

This is what they serve as a "bowl" of soup. I wonder what the cup is?

Excellent service. Ross was great. My wife's steak was undercooked, but he took care of it and it came back perfect. The food was good otherwise. He was great with the kids too. It was a good experience for a change.

Food was not worth ever going back. It took forever to get seated. But waitress earned the only star.

Also, don't get the steak. It's very tiny and over priced. If you order it medium rare, you get charred shoe Leather!!!

"Wanted a Home Run... Got Benched Instead"…read more I rarely visit Big League, but I gave it a shot yesterday after hearing about their pizza special -- two 14" two-topping pizzas for around $10.95 each. I called in my order: one pepperoni + green olives, one pepperoni + BBQ drizzle. The woman on the phone confirmed it exactly as I said. All seemed good. I showed up early to grab a drink and was excited to try a Trauma Llama Ding Dong from Teays River Brewing (which I specifically chose this spot for)... only to be told the draft system was down. Bummer #1. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing when it was part of my reason for picking Big League. Fast forward to me getting home, excited for pizza -- only to open the box and find black olives instead of green. I called back and asked, "Do you guys have green olives?" She shouted to the back, confirmed they did, then offered the world's flattest "oops." She said the system only lists "olives" without clarifying color. Well... then maybe mention that when someone specifically requests green olives? To be fair, I didn't raise a huge fuss, but I was genuinely disappointed. I'd driven across town, skipped my draft beer, and really had my hopes up for that salty green olive/pepperoni combo. The pizza itself? Decent. But the lack of attention to detail and the "oopsie teehee" attitude from staff didn't leave me eager to come back. Big League? You might wanna tighten up the lineup. Service matters, and little things like draft beer and correct toppings go a long way. Edit: I had a little more fun with this version because... well, laughter is therapy. Enjoy -- "Big League... Minor League Vibes." Decided to give Big League a try because they had a decent pizza deal -- two 14" two-topping pies for like $11 each. Sounds like a win, right? I called in my order: * One pepperoni with green olives * One pepperoni with BBQ drizzle The gal on the phone repeated it back perfectly. I was optimistic. That was my first mistake. I drive clear across town (I don't live close) because I'd heard their pizza was good and they serve Teays River beer on draft. Specifically went in hoping for a pint of Trauma Llama Ding Dong -- yes, that's really the name and yes, I wanted it in my hand. Walked in and was hit with: "Ohhh sorry, our draft system is down." No trauma llama. Just trauma. Still trying to salvage the mood, I take my bottled consolation beer and head home with my pizzas... only to open the box and be greeted by... black olives. Not the green ones I asked for. Not the green ones she confirmed on the phone. Just a sad, briny disappointment staring back at me. So I call, and I'm like, "Hey, do y'all have green olives?" She yells across the kitchen: "Do we have green olives?" Then goes, "Yeah we do -- we just have to cut 'em up ourselves." OH OK COOL COOL COOL, so you had them... just not where they needed to be -- ON MY PIZZA. Her excuse? "Well our system just says 'olives.' It doesn't say what kind." Girl. Giiiiiirl. If your ordering system is vague and I'm being specific, maybe mention that? Maybe don't serve me a surprise topping roulette? I didn't order a mystery pizza. This ain't the Olive Lottery. The worst part? She gave me that high-pitched "oh noooo, sowwy heehee" energy like she was trying out for a Disney Channel reboot instead of owning the mistake. Bottom line: I wanted draft beer and green olives. I got a bottled beer and a black olive betrayal. The pizza wasn't bad -- just not what I asked for. And I'm not mad... just mildly unhinged and writing Yelp reviews to cope. Big League? More like Little Effort. Get it together, y'all.
