On our project, that included coming out in an unexpected and ice cold downpour to dig a ditch for drainage within a half hour of calling him. He came by almost daily to check on the work and once had the crew take down a days work and start over--not because it was wrong. Just because it could be even better. Seriously, who does that?! It also meant working covertly with a family member to find the perfect craftsman style front door as my Christmas gift and scheduling around me so it would be a surprise. He even came up with a door handle that a previous client had custom ordered and then decided against--just because he thought it would look really nice. Not sure which was better, the absolutely perfect surprise handle or the pride on his face when I said how much I love it. His crew are talented and hard working. We had a deadline he agreed to from the outset since we had renters moving in but although he promised to come again and again he didn't. The toilet crooked and leaking(had to be turned off),the shower doors put in backwards AND upside down, moldings not completed or too short and everything left messy and dirty.He was paid only because he harassed and threatened to come to the house and rip everything out if payment was not made. I had to call the local police for advice in that there are renters living there. He is an unconscionable man. I will now have to pay double the amount to have another contractor repair the damage. He then replaced ugly carpeting on two sets of stairs and replaced hardwood stairs. This included staining and and putting two coats of polyurethane on the stairs.
