Stopped here a few times when traveling through Terminal A at Newark. The food is really great an everything from their cheese and crackers to-go boxes to their grilled cheese. I also really like their coffee. Always my go to spot if I have an early morning flight or just a caffeine pick me up during the day. My only complaint, like most places at Newark is the prices. Love Beechers being from Seattle but service and quality of food served at this EWR bar was not up to par-far from NW quality conscious curation. I was early for my 755pm flight back to IAD, given the tsa issue but got through precheck quicker than expected, which then give me a chance to lounge a bit. Was not able to use United Club so... Let's get right to the low score--Worst of all, the bartender at this concourse A at EWR was almost hostile, unwelcoming... bar was not full i was using an extra stool for my purse when he came over touched my luggage and moved it behind my chair, then told hastily to take my bag off the extra stool next to my seat. Now realized he did not even greet me when I approached; thus, the unwelcoming behavior at the outset. He did not approach me nor look at my direction until almost a good 5 minutes later when i finally called him for service. Shame that it was centrally located along other bars/restaurants in A terminal but with this unfriendly attitude-even the two ladies sitting a few chairs on my left looked unhappy and almost hesitant as they were also told to keep their purses off the stools next to them. Gentleman to my right was alone and friendly and tried to engage me in a conversation but it felt awkward-it was simply a bad vibe. I took only a few bites of my turkey sandwich which was bland and overpriced for the quality $29, my brut was $22, so that over $50 stop was the worst layover drink/bite i've ever had. Luckily or unluckily, depending on which to look at it, my terminal switched back to C--and by the way had better options? maybe. At this point however, i've lost my appetite. The menu here was better than a lot of other options in the concourse. The cheese on the chicken sandwich and the flavor was really good. Pricey but everywhere is pricey. They have a seating area/bar next to the food area. We took seats in the back at a table for 2 and then were told by the bartender we weren't allowed to sit there unless we had an open tab - even tho we had just bought food. The sign in front said "extra seating behind." Didn't make a big deal but it was frustrating. If you go when they're busy there will be no place to sit. read more

Bartendar couldn't find a cleaning rag to clean my spot at the bar which clearly someone had been sitting at who was drinking a Heineken, . So strange to me ..used wet napkins just a little water to wipe this germ infested bar off. No soap of any kind, guess no cleaning supplies are available at this bar,wow. As far as airport food goes, Beecher's is very good, maybe even one of my favorite airport foods. The grilled cheeses are pre-assembled but grilled to order, and the bread still retains just a bit of crunchiness after you unwrap it on the plane. They still taste best when hot off the grill though. The mac n' cheese is good too: creamy and smooth. They call it the "World's Best Mac n' Cheese," but I have had some extremely delicious ones, so probably would not consider theirs the world's best. At an airport though, it is pretty dang good. Beecher's is located near gate A27. The good thing about this location is that you can even stop here without a flight in Terminal A, by catching the connecting shuttle near A28 to Terminal B or C. read more

Oh this is a highlight of Terminal A. Compared to what I'd normally expect at airports, this is a quality grilled cheese sandwich. The best? Nah. Does the cheese ooze a bit? Maybe. But you're getting your money's worth. They don't skimp on the sandwich size. I realized that the original grilled cheese and the flagship came out to the same price. I opted for the flagship. The basil and tomato adds a bit of a nice touch. I believe you can either grab this to go or grab this at the bar adjacent to the place itself. I believe it's all connected. I ordered via the storefront. It took about 5 mins or so. I then went to the bar and ordered my drink. I think it's a bit faster, but I wouldn't know. To put it in perspective, I had like 45 mins to kill and I had more than plenty time after eating and having my drink to wash up and get to my gate. The bar itself is pretty good too. The price of beers isn't unreasonable ($10 or so for drafts) For $15.25, I don't think the price is absurd. I've paid like $14 for to-go lunch in central Jersey. Airport food to save the day. Even better, it was great! My flight into Newark was delayed. It was delayed once I boarded and I didn't pack snacks. I was starving when I got to Newark. I have seen Beecher's when walking to the exit. Also, I love Beecher's in Seattle. I remembered where I could get a salad and some classic Mac and cheese. I grabbed a salad from the fridge. So fresh looking even at the end of the day. I ordered a small Mac and cheese too. I was able to grab a seat by the bar, charge my phone and stuff my face. Winning! The salad was just as fresh as it looked. The shaved pieces of Parmesan were delish. The Mac and cheese was decadent. You can taste the high quality ingredients. I travel a lot for work and have come through the Newark airport multiple times. This was my first time trying Beecher's and I'm Very excited to have found a place in an airport that I actually enjoy! I will preface this by saying I only ate one thing--the mac and cheese. But that mac and cheese was fantastic! Service was quick and the staff was friendly. This airport terminal has been renovated recently, so there is plenty of seating and it's bright and clean. Excellent!!! The same delicious Mac&Cheese you could find in Seattle! This was an awesome find! Traveling through Newark saw it and could not resist!!! The place has a great cocktail menu and limited but good wine selection. We had also an onion and tomato soup! Both were great! The service was fast and friendly! We were not rushed but taken care of quickly! Perfect for traveling! Terminal A is beautiful and new! The restaurant/bar is also well decorated, great light, windows and large TV screens to watch your favorite sport! I would travel to Newark next time just to come back to this place! read more

For Airport food, this was very above average. Had the spicy Bloody Mary and the Smoked Turkey Sandwich, and both were great.
