Hidden gem. It's a cheese factory so you'll get the fresh mozzarella all the time. Loved their burrata!

I've come to this place or tried to 5 times. There are no hours posted, no one picks up the phone, the sign is lit open and no one is there.

They have a lot of interesting sandwiches to choose from. They caught my eye because they use focaccia for some of them which I love any opportunity to have it . I ordered a tuna on focaccia with mixed greens and peppers on the side . Tuna was slightly disappointing. It was missing a little twang/bite I might recommend a jalapeño relish which I use at home when I make it. I also ordered the ranchers roast beef and cheddar cheese, which also needed a little pick up me up also Maybe a twangy horseradish mayo. I also ordered the red white Italian, which is on focaccia bread, which was a very hearty sandwich loaded with chicken breast and roasted peppers. The sandwich needs to be eaten fairly quickly as the focaccia gets slightly soggy. we also ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which unfortunately didn't have much buffalo taste according to my husband. Minus these few flavor factors for me. The sandwiches in general were very good prices were slightly high, but the serving size was adequate for the pricing. Staff was super friendly. And I love how they have their routine getting all the orders out. They have a good amount of seating inside if you want to eat there. They also have a large variety of chips and drinks also . Definitely worth giving them a try !

Recently I made it a point to visit to pick up a sandwich for lunch and I'm really glad I did! Al's is very clean and welcoming. When you walk in the cashier counter is to the left, set at a right angle to that is the deli counter where sandwiches are assembled. The menu is mounted on the wall towards the back. To the right is a seating area. Across from the cashier is a fridge with various pasta dishes ready to heat up and eat along with some baked goods and lots of different kinds of chips to go with your sammich. I wound up ordering the Red & White Russian which includes Roast Beef, Turkey, Swiss, Horseradish, Deli Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. You can have it pressed by request but I did not do so. I also ordered a side order of macaroni salad. The Red & White Russian was really good! The size was perfect and the bread was soft and chewy. There was a good amount of meat and cheese and I really liked the mustard and horseradish flavors. The macaroni salad was great. I would definitely get both of these again! I'm glad I made it a point to stop at Al's and I plan to do so again in the future!

And by early, I mean we left our house at 6:30 to plan to get to the beach by 8. Michigan Deli fit the bill. We wanted to pick up a few breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches for lunch at the beach. For brekkie, I had a sausage and cheese on a roll. It was fine - I appreciated that they added two sausage patties since I didn't get egg in it. Hubby had the Brearley Bear (two eggs, pastrami, American cheese). I asked to switch to cheddar but they didn't. Both sandwiches were very filling and I was barely even hungry for lunch. We each also got a hashbrown on the side, which was soggy with grease, so avoid this one. For the lunch sammies, I had the Nick (chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, bacon, Russian dressing, sub roll, pressed). I wasn't sure how well the sandwich would last since it had dressing but it surprisingly held up pretty well. Overall, it was an okay sandwich. The bread was a little burnt as it had been left in the press for too long, and the chicken tasted like it had been refried because there were a lot of dried out bits. Hubby had the capicola, salami, pepperoni, and provolone sub, which also held up - and he enjoyed it. So it seems that regular cold cut sandwiches are good (though it's kind of hard to mess this up, isn't it) and the hot ones are so-so, or maybe you just need to eat them fresh. Note - their menu online is not updated. Prices are higher in the store than advertised on their site.
