I contacted the Bee Doctor just last week, as I've been having a problem with bees on the other side of my back wall on the cities side. Brandon was very helpful and informative. He explained to me what I need to do on my part and said when he was in the area, he would come by to take a look. Well today he came by and safely and humanely removed the bees to relocate them. Had Brandon come out to remove a hive in a wall near the chimney. Very responsive, good communication. He showed us where the hive was, using a thermal camera. I happened to catch a colony relocating into the house on December 2nd. I called Brandon about 2 months later. He was friendly and super knowledgeable. I had a problem with bees going into my house structure since last year. My husband called Bee Wranglers (that's the name of the business) last year and they came and charged us $250 to help us with the problem but the bees came back in the same place & they only guarantee the bee removal for 30 days. Unfortunately, I have to report my unsatisfied experience with this business. Nice gentleman and all is good until it is not. Removed bees but left a big mess for me to clean up. Drywall was cut out, pieces left on floor and white dust everywhere. I was just happy the bees were removed. He said in 2-5 days the remaining bees will evacuate. In one day they returned and I started seeing a nest again. I kind of just got the runaround when trying to have him return in a timely manner. And to my surprise, told me to use a normal vacuum cleaner to collect the remaining bees myself. Wow. He also stated to me that there were signs of a type of pesticide used. I tried to be clear but had no way to prove that nothing had been used. At that point I knew it was time just to move on as I made every effort to accommodate his return to correctly remove the bees. I did also ask for a partial return of my payment to him which I thought was only fair. He mentioned the process of investigating the pesticide has to play out first. Five... hundred stars go out to The Bee Doctor!!! Brandon came out within, literally, a couple of hours of my initial contact with him to take care of a pretty nasty (even though he wouldn't consider it nasty as he loves these little creatures and the benefits they provide!) infestation that was UNDER my father's tool shed. With infrared technology in hand, he assessed the situation and was able to very quickly determine the best course of action to take. Brandon is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things bees/removal/relocation; we appreciated him explaining these things to us... and in terms we could understand! Since the hive was much, much larger than expected, and based on its underground/under-the-shed location, we agreed to have him come back two days later to handle the colony, the hive, and the queen. I'm most certain he would have come the next day, but it was Father's Day, and so obviously, that was how we all spent our day! As the final part of the process, he returned for his last visit a week later to remove the remaining "bee debris". Especially considering what he did, his pricing isn't even competitive- it's better than that; it's superb, actually. This business owner responded to my request for a quote on thru YELP Tuesday 2/4/20 & set an appt for inspection later that day....1st red flag-the time for appt passes, I contact him "traffic, blah...blah, be there in 15-20min"...2nd red flag-40 mins later shows up & no ladder (we had one ) - doubles price, didnt realize it was a bigger area. Ok'd by us - when? On Wednesday, we being agreeable, per his suggestion, settled on this coming Saturday 2/8/20, as "they/we" were booked all thru this week & on Monday 2/10/20 in Compton for a bee removal, per Brandon T (bus owner) - so on this coming Saturday 2/8/29 is the day - "We will be there by 8am - done by 3:00pm." Texts exchanged Wednesday about a few particulars of job as well. 3rd red flag - texted him friday afternoon, friday evening confirming our Saturday 2/8/20- no response. 4th red flag - Sent texts Sat am (at least 2)prior to 8am about moving cars for their access....no response until 8:20am or so with the ole "family emergency" (but with twist of "I wont EVER be able to do your job - taking hiatus)"- WOW! AND NOT in a good way. Also communicated that in response to my message sent thru Yelp Sat 8:30am. His apology insincere & ironically "unapologetic" - with no "real" solution (ie - reschedule rather than just bail)...just saying. Look - maybe "family/personal issues exist...idk. But somehow, in the midst of being hospitalized for 6 days last week of Jan 2020 & losing an entire Wednesday while in ICU (reason why we needed service done) - I realized on Thursday, I had a passport appt that Friday that I would not be making so I took 30 seconds & rescheduled - no biggie, but it means that I give a damn (for whatever insecure reason)! "I will not let the cold world change me!" - I am still going to try to be a decent person who treats people decently and not as though they are disposable regardless of my personal situation or AGENDA or $$. Not only did he not respond from Friday night on - he totally bailed on the job without any consideration for customer. You know - Say what you mean & mean what you say - follow thru is everything. How about maybe know your job, be professional with your quotes & don't be a CHILD in how you handle YOUR business & AND if its "we", why can't someone else get started on job? This business owner simply had to communicate & by not doing so-he showed his work ethic is weak and for us, apparently, nonexistent - I think we dodged a bullet. BEWARE. Brandon can get incredibly unprofessional and hot tempered (RUDE). First off, I had been waiting a month of postponements for this guy to come out to remove a hive on my house. He kept postponing due to weather. Fine, I understand, except he kept telling me he needed a couple of days of good weather which we had a few of those but he never came out. First appt date 2/4 came, but rain ended up in the forecast. Fine. He then told me he'll start doing them on the 12th. I asked him to keep me posted. On 2/13, I reached out since he hasn't contacted me. He said the whole following week was rain. (But there was no rain this week). I told him I was bummed he wouldn't make it out this dry week. He didn't respond. I messaged him again on 2/25, yesterday, if he could come out that day (we had a few dry days and no rain in the forecast for a couple of days). Then my husband told me there was a small swarm of bees in the yard now too. So I followed up my message about coming out today with a message that we now have bees in a bush too and that my dogs can't go outside. I thought he could take a look at that while he's here to taking the hive on the house. Maybe he could advise me about them or as a beekeeper, maybe he would want the small hive that was forming as well. (Maybe I'm niave about beekeeping, but I thought beekeepers like getting more bees, especially easy grabs like that bush one was). Anyhow, he came out. When he arrived, he said he was only here for the bush bees, not doing the house hive. His demeanor was already starting to get annoyed about that from the first minute I met him, the moment I said oh you're not doing the house hive today? He then went into some song and dance about the almonds being his priority and he doesn't have the gear for the house bees. He then tells me he can't come out till March to do that house hive. He now tells me he needs a week or two of dry weather, 2-3 days isn't enough (even though on text he told me he needed just 2 days of dry weather). I was still super patient with him and told him ok then I'll at least show you the bush bees in the yard. I asked him if there was a fee for getting the bush bees and he said yes. I told him that I can't afford 2 removals at this time so I'll just wait for him to do the house one as that was a huge problem that we've needed taken care of a long while now. He then got mad and started getting aggressive in his tone with me. I politely told him there's obviously been a misunderstanding because I thought he was coming out for the house hive (finally) and he thought I wanted him here for just the small bush hive. And I didn't know there was going to be an additional fee (he never disclosed an added fee to come out that day). He proceeded to repeatedly raise his voice with me telling me it is very disrespectful (so loud my next door neighbors could hear). I finally told him that he was that he was the one being very disrespectful to me by yelling at me calling me disrespectful for his lack of professionalism and that he as a professional should have immediately disclosed his fee for just coming out to look at the bees and that he couldn'tdo the house bees at the same time for whatever reason. I wouldn't have wasted his time or mine had he told me he couldn'ttake the big house hive and there would be a fee for coming out just for the tiny hive. He should have just chalked it up to a business lesson-learned to disclose all fees PRIOR to an appt and to be clear about what you are and AREN'T going to do. I've patiently waited for this guy to come out for over a month, and in the end, it was all for nothing. I will NOT be doing business with such an unprofessional and hot tempered guy.
