This business, run by a person named Eric, is a disaster. I ordered an expensive sleeper sofa from him, which came a month late. I had to call him 5-6 times to make sure it arrived at all. He forgot to order the sheets to go with the sofa, so they came 2 months late. Then the sofa had a manufacturing defect (which is fine, it happens). Eric completely blew me off and refused to investigate the problem. Finally, he ordered a warranty inspection that confirmed the problem.. now he's dragging his feet on the resolution and blaming me for emailing him. Eric will probably reply here with a long-winded explanation of how this is all my fault, somehow. I just want a working sofa, especially for the price tag. Tempurpedic Matress review: I love our Tempurpedic matress! If you're thinking of a memory foam matress and are thinking of investing this is the way to go. Not a memory foam matress or topper where they flat out in about a year, it's the tempurpedic! Eric's Bedroom & More is our Tempurpedic, San Francisco matress store! My boyfriend and I have been looking around for a new matress. He's picked his friends brain and the one that had the tempurpedic matress paid a chunk of money like about $3k. So we searched online, but through word of mouth and referrals, Bedroom & More is where we fell in love. (I meant with our matress and bedframe, silly.) We bought the Advantage Tempurpedic Bed which is within our price range and less expensive than ordering straight from Tempur-Pedic on-line. We also bought a platform bed frame, the solid walnut catalina bed, handmade and a green product. Lucky for us, he had a Queen Frame in stock, so we didn't have to wait 10 weeks, but we'd gladly wait for our nightstands to arrive. This is made to order! Eric and Heather really knows their products and makes you feel welcomed. We were testing out beds, so of course we were laying down, rolling around... but they gave us our space to really decide and understood that everyone is on a budget. But with Furniture, it's an investment. 2 things you must spend more on is a Matress and a pair of comfy shoes! Within 3 days, our matress arrived. It's true what the other reviewers said about their delivery team. They are on-time and effecient. Please don't forget to tip them. It's been only 3 nights that I've been sleeping on the tempurpedic matress and I love it. My back really feels better and I have deeper more solid sleep. This review is rather late due to wedding planning and other important life events but better late than never! My fiancé and I purchased a ViSpring mattress about 1.5 years ago at this store with the expectation that we had ordered a soft spring tension mattress. We spent around one hour trying out mattresses and speaking with Eric and another gentleman and they both agreed that we should purchase a mattress with soft spring tension (we liked the feel of the medium spring tension mattress but since we weren't purchasing their divan base--which adds additional body response/comfort--they suggested that a soft spring tension mattress on our bed frame would feel comparable). So, we purchased what we believed was a soft spring tension mattress--I say believe because we literally sat across Eric at his desk while he was putting the order in and reading back the order to us, specifically mentioning the words soft spring tension. A month after receiving the mattress we noticed that the mattress was rather uncomfortable (too firm). We thought perhaps it just needed a break-in period of another month or two. Several months later we just couldn't stand the firmness any longer and so we went to speak with Eric in hopes of finding a solution. Turned out that they had ordered the incorrect spring tension (medium instead of soft)! Unfortunately we were past ViSpring's spring exchange policy. Although Eric and the gentleman were helpful in the selection of our mattress, I am giving them a low star rating based on the fact that they didn't acknowledge their error and simply dismissed us by essentially saying we don't remember the transaction since it's been a while (that they couldn't just take our word for it) and that we should have reviewed the receipt they had emailed us. We should have--but we felt so sure we were getting the soft spring mattress since, like I said, Eric literally read back the order to us, that we didn't give it a second thought. I believe they should have taken some responsibility for the error (especially given the fact that we gave them so many specific details on how they had come to the conclusion that a soft spring tension mattress was best for us--they knew we weren't making up a story but chose to play dumb anyway) and so now we're stuck with an uncomfortable, expensive mattress due to a technicality. We are soon to purchase another Vispring mattress (we do love the breathability of it) from another vendor in San Jose whose staff seems significantly more knowledgeable and competent in regards to these mattresses. Bought a mattress from this guy a few years ago; great mattress, but the owner is a horrible person. My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and were looking to get a new mattress. We stopped by here and found exactly what we were looking for pretty quickly. The owner seemed casual and engaging. We purchased a mattress and bed frame, but while we were finalizing the order, somehow our casual conversation turned into my boyfriend and I silently and uncomfortably listening to him complain about his wife for 40 minutes. We thought maybe he was having a bad day and needed to vent? Then after all of the awful things he had to say about this woman, he turns to me and says that I remind him of her because I was tiny and cute, making me feel that much more uncomfortable. A few months later the bed frame we purchased broke. When I looked under the bed to see what had happened, I also noticed the feet of the frame dyed my white rug pink. I stopped by the store to see if we could get a new frame and he said it was no problem, though he couldn't explain the pink dye. I had to wait and come back to get the new frame, but when I came back he aggressively said he didn't remember me, the conversation never happened and that I was making the whole thing up... btw, I live in the neighborhood and he has had conversational exchanges with me outside his store more than once. He literally laughed in my face and made condescending comments towards me. Instead of reacting, I thought it was best to stay calm and just leave. Though now I regret that decision. I came home and told my boyfriend what had happened and that I was never going back there. Hours later my boyfriend goes down to talk to him. The owner is super nice to him and doesn't even acknowledge the douchness he unloaded on me (wtf) , but he does try to upsell a more expensive bed frame. Seriously? Based on comments he has made on several occasions and seeing the difference in how he treats men vs. women (especially women who come in alone) or how his demeanor changes when his wife is around, he is a misogynistic A$$! He used the fact that I'm little and meek to give him an opportunity to assert faux-dominance. On top of that, he can never own up to a mistake. Update: It's really upsetting how the owner is trying to dismiss my review, me and his actions. I wrote a true and accurate account of my experience with him. Any fool at Macy's or Costco can sell you a mattress. The key to a good experience is getting the right mattress for your body and sleeping style, AND should something go wrong with the purchase (warranty or just the wrong mattress for you, personally), getting help with a replacement mattress. We as San Franciscans inherently want to do right with our purchasing power and thus tend to go with the independent businesses where we can. Friends, this practice works fine for buying pet toys and handicrafts like bird-embroidered handbags and animal-shaped headwear; not so good for purchasing an expensive mass-produced consumer item with inner parts that are more or less concealed and enigmatic. There's a reason why the big mattress players on Van Ness's mattress row advertise that you can bring the mattress back within 30 days. This is awesome piece of mind. You want this and shouldn't buy from anyone unwilling to offer you this guarantee. Eric failed me and was actually pretty uncooperative and even hostile when I tried to bring to his attention that the bed was not working out. He actually raised his voice and asked me to leave the store. Eric has a good memory and was apparently bitter that I refused to cave when he called the day of the original mattress delivery to tell me that the $100 delivery fee that we had agreed to would be insufficient because a King size bed might not make it into the elevator and the delivery crew would likely need to use the stairs. Yes, Eric thought he could ask for more money and I guess he thought I had a such a fear of sleeping on the floor that I would just roll over. (Eric blinked on that one, and well, you can see how it all turned out.) Eric did not recognize that I had spent $2000 in his store on a the top of the line World Class series mattress. Eric didn't give a rat's ass that the plush-model mattress he sold me was too soft for a back sleeper. Eventually, after several months of explaining to the manufacturer--Simmons--that the owner was not cooperating, they set me up with a field rep inspector who told me off the record that the memory foam in that year's model had some issues with integrity and thus the big crater in the middle of my mattress. (Credit to Simmons for breaking their normal dealer-driven warranty policy and eventually giving me a replacement, although it's anybody's guess if they've reviewed their relationship with Eric as a result.) Bottom line, Eric sold me a useless mattress and would have taken me for two grand had I not been persistent with the manufacturer and found a sympathetic rep at Simmons after months of pestering them for a warranty replacement. read more

Update- had to contact the Simmons manufacturer directly to address my defective mattress as Eric the owner of Bedroom and More did not set up an appointment (after he said he had done so) to have someone inspect my mattress. Eric also told me I'd have to pay a "fee of $75" to have an outside inspector come out (Simmons, is sending out an inspector at no cost to me- and they told me that they never charge for inspections, btw- only $85 to ship you a replacement mattress). When I spoke to a simmons rep. (after several months of trying to reach a live person)- they contacted Eric at Bedroom and More about me and my mattress to see if he would take care of the problem on his end and he refused; claiming that I was totally hostile and he wouldn't come over to inspect my mattress as he " feared for his safety" !!! He also lied to the Simmons rep and told them that during our last phone conversation I never mentioned to him that I was pregnant (which I did in fact mention to him as a last ditch attempt to get some empathy/ customer service from him- which didn't help at all- he could care less). Eric also forwarded all the emails I'd sent to Bedroom and More to Simmons, trying to get them to believe his rants that I'm the one being unreasonable and abusive, and guess what, since my emails were totally reasonable (if not disgruntled by the 10th one after getting no help) Simmons has agreed that Eric isn't being honest. Again Eric obviously puts on an act that you, the customer are completely hostile, abusive and nuts if you have the audacity to come to him expecting him to address an issue you're having with a defective product he has sold you. I was totally nice and professional when I came to them for help starting back in december, and he made me out to be a unreasonable nut job. Eric also denies his own company's website- on which it clearly stated that if you have a warranty problem, they'll happily come to your house and inspect your mattress (which they've now updated /removed from the site since this fun started). Again I'm pregnant, so sleeping on a bum mattress and being yelled at by a store owner, which is unacceptable under any circumstances, was extra fun. PS to anyone who needs to get through to Simmons/Serta- about a warranty issue-go message them via their Facebook page- noone answers their customer service email or phone number. read more

I've been looking for a new bed frame and found one I like on their website, so I went into the store to check it out. I was immediately greeted and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I quickly found that a number of the beds on the website are not available in store for viewing. I looked at a number of beds on display and didn't find anything close to what I liked on the website, so I decided to leave. Today, I went online and was preparing to buy the bed I wanted, but paused when I couldn't find any return information on the site. During a short call to the store to find out my options if I don't like the bed once I finally see it in person, I was informed that they don't have a return/exchange policy except under the rarest circumstances, none of which was just because I didn't like the quality. Without having seen and felt the bed in person, I can't bring myself to buy the bed without recourse if the quality is crap. Since Bedroom & More clearly does not stand behind their products, I'm forced to buy the bed from another dealer. Although the price will be higher, it's worth it for the peace of mind in knowing that my purchase is backed with a satisfaction guarantee. Bedroom & More has some great looking products at even greater prices, but be prepared to suck it up if you don't like what shows up at your house. read more

When I first walked into the store, I was hesitant because - I'll admit, I'm a sucker for the merchandising geniuses of Room & Board, Crate & Barrel, etc. Bedroom & More had quality pieces, but laid out for viewing in a verypractical way. I was out of my comfort zone by this transparent display...but yet it was refreshing. You see, we were strictly here to look for a sofa sleeper that would work in the small condo we own in SOMA. We didn't need the fancy lighting nor the lavish rug to highlight the couch we were looking for - we also didn't need to pay the extra $$$$ for these highlights. We purchased a Patterson Twin Sleeper Sofa by American Leather from this store. We picked out the fabric and ordered the sofa with Eric on June 2nd and the couch was delivered 3 weeks later, like he promised. We almost purchased this very same couch from Crate & Barrel (their Allerton Twin Sleeper) but Eric's price was over $200 less and only $50 for delivery. Upon checking out American Leather's website to look at the specs for the couch and sleeper, I noticed they were running a promo for select retail locations. If you purchased a sleeper sofa between certain dates, you could receive free organic cotton sheets. They had me at free - so I quick sent an email to Eric to ask about this - and his initial reply was that they didn't send him any sheets but he'd check on it. I figured I'd just let it go. But a week after the couch was delivered Eric took the initiative to contact me and said while they didn't send sheets with the order - he'd be happy to give me the set that he had that was meant to be sold for retail of $199 for free since I saw the promo. If you're looking to support a local business, an honest, non-pushy salesperson that doesn't hover and sets realistic expectations, I highly recommend Eric at Bedroom & More. read more

Oh man, I almost feel privileged to be the first reviewer for this place. No used car sales tactics here! After being given the run-around at Sleep Train ("I'll give you a killer deal bro"), Mattress Discounters (owned by Sleep Train) and Mancini Sleep World ("we'll extend the sale price for you"), we stopped into see Eric after a recommendation from a friend. This place sells the same core selection of beds as just about everybody else (Simmonds, Sealy, Temperpedic etc...), but the prices are about half--literally, $1000 cheaper in our case--what you'll be quoted at the big-volume outlets. Plus the owner/sales guy Eric doesn't push a sale down your throat. Plus, he has a Buddhist shrine at the back of the store. How could you say no? read more

Finding a place to buy a mattress can be very difficult, but just go to Bedroom & More! I really dislike salesmen asking me questions and pressuring me. Eric is extremely helpful and gave no pressure at all. I bought a great Serta mattress and it was a better price than Sleep Train or one of those big stores. I love my mattress, but recently I noticed the box spring broke and is still under warranty. I got a replacement box spring in about a week with no hassle at all! We've bought our bedroom furniture here in two different occasions (got the first part of a set in early 2009 and after we moved to a bigger place we got the rest of the set) and our experience was great in both cases. Some of the very negative reviews are somewhat surprising -- although Eric isn't brilliant (he wasn't very smart about reusing our credit line the 2nd time, his spelling over e-mails could be better, etc.), he was extremely nice and responsive, and he made the buying experience very easy. Couldn't be easier, in fact; the 2nd time I got everything done over the Internet which saved me quite some time. HOWEVER, admittedly on Eric alone I'd have given them 4 stars -- it's their DELIVERY guys that really take the cake here and they are reason enough to shop here; they're absolutely amazing; they were right on time, free and in both instances we didn't really make their life easy at all; in both homes we had narrow, steep stairs that they had to climb carrying extremely bulky (pre-assembled, solid wood) furniture, and in the second home this was worsened by the very delicate hardwood floors that they went above and beyond their call of duty NOT to scratch. Same thing with the walls; in fact, of all deliveries I had in this home, they were the first and only to be able to climb the stairs with heavy items without even touching the walls. It was a thing of beauty, trust me. And for that, I'll always look at B&M first for anything they may carry. May sound crazy, but, trust me, their delivery guys are true artists. read more

I just moved into town and needed a mattress ASAP. Found Bedroom & More on Yelp (shameless plug), and decided to check it out. The staff was very helpful and attended to me as soon as I walked through the door. There was no pressure to buy or upselling, they simply wanted me to find the right mattress. I ended up getting a Simmons (can't recall the exact model). The mattress I got came with a great warranty and I was told that if it began to sink in the middle, all I needed to do was take a few photos to prove that it was sinking and Simmons would take care of the rest. The only downsides to Bedroom & More is that the selection was a little limited and the delivery guys only work from Wed-Fri. But delivery is free which is a HUGE plus! Good place! read more

The staff is very helpfull, willing to let you (19 yr.) run around trying every bed multiple times, and asking the same question at every bed. The price will reflect the bed you are picking I picked a Beautyrest EX Firm (mattress) for 848.00USD, and was quoted for delivery (free) 6-8pm, and it arrived at 530pm a big plus. I detest mattress shopping and dealing with the salesmen. After visiting all the major retailers in the city, I found Bedroom & More and the only honest mattress salesman in town. Eric didn't push or haggle, he gave honest prices from the beginning. The mattress we bought was listed as $1000 more at Sleeptrain, and they were willing to match the price, but why would I give them my money when I could support an honest local business? The mattress I bought a few weeks ago is so comfortable and sleeping has been a dream. The delivery men were nice and the delivery was free. The quality of the furniture from this place is way higher than the frames offered for twice as much at the other guys. Do yourself a favor and visit Eric first. The "large refund" he's referring to was me asking for compensation for having 4 months of mishap after mishap and him being a real jerk about it to us (because it was such a "burden" for him to have to fix the problems he himself created - such as ordering the wrong bed in the first place!). We had another company issue us a 20% discount on a piece of furniture we bought because there were problems - I asked him for some kind of similar compensation for all the trouble we went through and all the time we wasted waiting for my son's bed, instead he told us how difficult and costly the situation was for him (I imagine when you order the wrong mattress and install it incorrectly, it could be very costly - but again - that was his own mistake to correct). They are nice people and offer a good quality product at lower prices than some of the other sellers. However, they do not accept any returns or exchanges after it's delivered (except for defects), so if you have a bad back, and can't really tell how you'll feel until you've actually slept on the mattress, then you should go to a place that takes returns, like Costco or Sleep Train, even though Sleep Train might cost more at first. I say this because I bought the best mattress they had at B&More (over $1,000), but the first time I slept on it I woke up with a sore back the next morning, and they couldn't take it back or exchange it, even though it was still unopened in the plastic case. I should say that they did tell me when I bought it that they couldn't take it back, so I guess I just should have gone to one of the others at that time since I knew I have a touchy back. Update: I found a nice 2" memory foam topper for $229 on the internet (this has a 30 day approval), and maybe that will fix my back. I probably saved more than that by shopping here, so perhaps it will all work out fine. read more

I came in here after a completely bizarre shopping experience across the street at McRoskey. This place was like a breath of fresh air. It's large, with an extensive selection and the owner was knowledgeable, friendly and very low pressure. I found something I liked, but ended up getting a better price elsewhere so I didn't get my mattress here. My boyfriend did end up spontaneously buying a really great couch from here that was well priced and that we both love. Delivery was painless and the guys who brought the couch were great. buying a mattress can be a harrowing experience. the retailers purposely have multiple names for the same mattress to make price comparisons difficult and you usually have to haggle with no idea of what the true value of the mattress is. i thought i had a pretty good deal on a low end sealy mattress after playing off sleeptrain and mattress discounters across the street against each other. feeling pretty good about myself, i headed down to bedroom and more to buy a bed which i'd researched on the web to discover that bedroom and more had the best price. the friendly owner offered free delivery if i bought a mattress too. after telling him i just bought one, i learned that sleep train and mattress discounters have the same owner! d'oh! no need for bargaining at bedroom and more, the owner just prices fairly upfront. for the same price as my low-end sealy, i was offered a mid-range simmons pillowtop. i called up sleeptrain to cancel which they duly did. they also demanded to know where i was buying my new mattress from as they couldn't believe the price i got. =) read more

Visited Bedroom & More after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp. Had a very good shopping experience. Heather was quite helpful but not the least bit pushy and no hard "upsell." Felt like I got a very good deal on a basic, queen-sized Simmons Beautyrest mattress and was delighted by the free delivery! (Plus they took away our old, worn-out mattress for only $20.) I can't stress enough that this is an awesome place to escape the 'used car dealership' feeling of all those other big name mattress stores that you've heard the ads for. The prices are very good and they carry a small selection of other furniture pieces as well (I bought my bed frame from there as well). Eric is the sole proprietor of the place - he offers the most stress free buying experience that you could ask for from such a place. He's very knowledgeable about mattresses and offers unbiased advice based on what you're looking for. Do yourself a favor and start here when looking for a mattress. read more

Most mattress places use all sorts of tactics to get you to spend as much money as possible. They put all their most expensive beds in the front. They tell you they're giving you a great deal, not to tell anyone what they're doing for you or they'll get fired. But it's all an act. Eric, the owner/operator, is extremely helpful without being slimy. No run-around here, just reasonable prices, with free delivery to boot. Highly recommended.
