This is the most awesome mattress store ever! I checked out all the big mattresses manufacturers at the chain stores and was not convinced that they would provide years of comfort and sleep. I had one of those foam organic mattresses and had a terrible problem falling asleep. So I started out by checking out mattresses at Mancini's Sleep World, etc. and I would think I found a good one, then I would check out the reviews and learn about the problems people found after time. I actually started to feel helpless but then I wandered into Naturepedic in SOMA SF and met the kindest person ever, the owner, Richard. I tested out all of the organic mattresses and found the one. It is called the Halcyon and is the most comfortable mattress I could have purchased. It is really heavy, but built to last, and with a price tag to match. But now I fall asleep every night and stay asleep. I had to give myself permission to spend so much money on a mattress, but am so glad I did. I have seen reviews where people claim the mattress hurt their back. I can honestly say the complete opposite has been true for me -- my back problems that plagued me with my old mattress have completely disappeared. I sleep deeper and wake up feeling genuinely rested every single morning. What truly sets this store apart is Richard himself. This extraordinary young owner delivered parts of my mattress personally in his own car -- a level of personal service you simply don't find anywhere anymore. Years after my purchase, when I encountered an issue, Richard stepped up immediately and resolved it with grace and generosity -- no questions asked. We needed to replace our beloved old organic mattress and were very ready to purchase. Unfortunately, the previous mattress store we had purchased our aging mattress had closed years ago so we searched online for a mattress company where we could try the bed in person. Sleep365 seemed to meet all our criteria for mattress quality and materials. The reviews were good. We made an appointment (it was one of the 'by appointment only' weekdays) and were looking very forward to a new mattress. Our appointment was confirmed the day before and thought we were set. Welp, we hitched up the covered wagon to drive across town to the storefront on SoMa. Though it looked very nice inside through the window, the lighting was dim the door locked. DENIED. We waited outside on the busy street checking our emails and vmail as we tried to contact our salesperson from the store to see if anyone was going show up to the appointment. The reviews were stellar; we must have been the unlucky ones. Wasted day and not willing to be fooled again. Still on the lookout for a good mattress, though. read more

I was planning for a fabulous night's sleep when I bought the Halcyon mattress by naturePedic but it was a nightmare. It wrecked my back so badly I ended up with doctor's bills, and time having to go to the natural path to fix my back... even after purchasing a different mattress my circadian rhythm was off because I did not sleep more tan 3 hours for three months while trying to figure out different modifications of the bed. None of them worked. their 'no return' policy left me stuck. Even after begging, they only refunded 50% of $9000 was not nearly enough for the pain and hassle. Avoid this brand unless you want sleepless nights and pain and suffering. The Halcyon mattress by naturepedic was an extreme nightmare for many months. The Naturepedic Halcyon mattress was a massive letdown. The only thing it had going for it was the 'natural, no offgassing' claim, but that didn't save it. It trashed my back, leaving me in pain and racking up doctor's bills. Their no-return policy is a joke 50% back after fighting tooth and nail to even get a partial refund. I am happy to say I have a new mattress and I am sleeping better. I feel good when I wake up now I bought a Sleep Number bed. There's probably offgassing but at this point I don't care because I just need to sleep well. read more

Right after I described what I liked and disliked about my now old mattress to him, he showed me to a mattress and topper that felt amazing, which, after trying out a few other mattresses, I ended up purchasing the mattress and topper Richard had originally recommended. After many hours of online research, phone calls with vendors and a couple trips to brick & mortar stores, I decided on a queen size organic mattress sand narrowed my list of vendors down to Avocado and Sleep365. I had a productive and informative 30-minute video call with an Avocado rep that customized the layers of mattress, foam, pad, etc. we both agreed was the best choice for me. I was fairly certain I'd buy my mattress from Avocado but I still had an appointment with Richard at Sleep365 later that day. As a salesperson myself, I appreciate Richard's consulting approach (definitely non-salesy), his expert knowledge of mattress, bedding and related items. He has an intuitive and accurate assessment in customizing the specific layers of the mattress to ensure body alignment and ultimate comfort. He was very helpful and patient mixing up the different layers he thought ideal for me so I could test them by sitting and lying on the bed. I ultimately purchased from Richard/Sleep365 the Naturepedic EOS Classic, support coils in firm, comfort layer in medium latex, cotton mattress pad protector, Kapok latex side-sleeper pillow (I'm a back sleeper and highly recommend this pillow), and sateen fitted and flat sheets. I don't recall ever having the restful sleeping I've had with my customized Naturepedic from Sleep365. I can't thank Dominic enough for helping my elderly and cantankerous parents pick out a new bed. They couldn't agree with each other and even exchanged the first mattress they selected, only to return to the store to try some different options. Dominic was beyond patient with their not so nice behavior and after quite a lot of their bickering he steered them to the option where they each got to customize their own side for a pretty minimal extra cost. While their behavior was rather embarrassing (I was there both times to make sure they came away with a solution) they were very happy in the end. They can't say enough good things about where they landed with this purchase. My mom has terrible respiratory problems so I am incredibly delighted that they are now in a non-toxic bed. We just purchased our 3rd naturepedic mattress. The first was for my son's crib, the second for his full sized bed and this third one was for our new king size bed. Loved the ability for each person to build their half of the mattress the way they like but also the option to get a more affordable organic mattress that was more of a one size feels comfortable for all approach. My husband and I haven been mattress shopping for a while and have tried a lot of different spots -- from high-end beds to middle of the road -- and most mattresses have been virtually indistinguishable. Richard @ sleep365 was phenomenal at helping us find a mattress that we've been super happy with, 6 months post-purchase. First of all, it was easy to get in touch with him and set up an appointment during these weird COVID times. Once we got there, he was personable and listened to what we were looking for and the problems we had with our current bed. He recommended a few models and took the time to explain the constructional differences between them. We spent at least an hour trying the different beds, and adjusting the layering to narrow down the one we wanted. We never felt rushed or misguided, it was a great experience figuring out what was working vs. not. We ended up getting a mattress, mattress cover, and four pillows. This is a great shop. They sell 100% natural and organic customizable mattresses and pillows, and sustainably made bed frames. They carry a line of mattresses from Naturepedic that is very clever. Latex mattresses are great, but they weigh a ton! So Naturepedic sells mattresses that are a combination of coils (as in a box spring) and a layer of latex on top of that. That makes the mattresses much lighter, plus it gives much more flexibility in finding the exact degree of firmness or softness that is comfortable. Sleep365 provides excellent customer service and their staff will do whatever they can to help customers find out which mattresses or pillows are the most comfortable for them. This includes replacing the layer of latex on a set of coils so that we could be sure that we got the exact combination of coils and latex foam that we wanted. There is also a 30 day return period for pillows and a 90 day period to customize mattresses so that you can make sure they work for you. The mattresses have a 20 year warranty. read more

After trying several "bed in a box" mattresses and getting poor sleep and sore backs, we made our way to Sleep365 to up our sleep game. Richard helped us out and he was so helpful and knowledgeable. He offered insight into sleeping positions and mattress firmness, and gave us plenty of time to lay and flop around on the mattresses in search of the one. After we found our dream mattress, Richard went above and beyond to make sure we received it. There were delays with the third party shipper (nothing to do with Sleep365) and Richard ended up personally picking up and delivering our mattress to make sure we'd get it. This is a really good sized shop that is clean and has a lot of options for organic mattresses, organic sheets, pillows, mattress pads, etc. I love the customization options on all of the mattresses so they can all be made as firm or as soft as you need! Before I went to Sleep365, the only thing I knew about mattresses was that I didn't want one that was too firm. The mattress is firm support yet you melt into it and barely even turn in the night you're so comfortable. Originally, I purchased pillows from the Sleep365 San Jose location but was so glad to see that a store was now in the city, very convenient! They had parking available off of Harrison which made it super easy to visit and they have my favorite coffee place within walking distance, Vega! I now needed to replace my full size bed to a queen for more room and wanted something more eco-friendly. I went shopping around and discovered there are more brands now available selling natural mattresses, but a lot of them still have foam or are not certified by a reputable source. Sleep365 had options that were made right here in San Francisco so I love that aspect. They also had the entire line of Naturepedic Organic mattresses which were awesome too. I met Richard who helped me figure out exactly what I needed. This whole company is amazing, very consistent service...definitely recommend going here, trying out mattresses and talking to an expert versus trying to figure out what I need online.
