Upon seeing a sweet Wirecutter sale, I visited the Saatva Union Square Viewing Room in November 2025. Beautiful showroom: no hard sales tactics, yet people were available to answer any questions. I tried several mattresses in my price range and headed out. Next day, I jumped online to purchase the 11.5" Firm Queen Saatva Classic using the Wirecutter sale, clicked purchase, and the sale disappeared - yikes! Called customer service and they honored the sale price immediately and with pleasure - yay! Mattress arrived two-ish weeks later - delivery process was seamless - and wow was it firmer than I remembered! The literature says to give it a few weeks. I gave it six weeks and decided to exchange. Headed back to the Union Square showroom and met Sirius at the front desk. He is amazing - siriusly amazing! - and such an asset to the company. Sirius helped me figure out the mattress I liked in store was the Classic Firm 14.5", not the 11.5" - totally my bad. Sirius then explained the difference between the two and went way above and beyond to make sure I was happy and comfortable with my exchange. Yes, Saatva is a solid company based on my experience, from a terrific showroom to no hard sales tactics to helpful customer service to communicative and efficient delivery, but what brought me to Yelp is Sirius. This guy seriously likes people and is seriously knowledgeable about mattresses and toppers and pads and sheets and he seriously likes his job and he seriously likes the company. I'm writing my review perhaps a bit prematurely as I haven't even gotten my mattress yet, but I want to weigh in on what a great experience I've had thus far. I am surprised my current mattress is dying despite being only 6 years old. They used to last much longer but these days, not so much I guess. I had known about Saatva for some time as they are rated some of the best mattresses out there. Chat GPT narrowed in pretty quickly on one. I decided to visit the SF showroom and I would say if you live anywhere near one you absolutely must visit to try out the different mattresses. The one Chat steered me towards was a quick "no" by both of us. We fairly quickly narrowed it down to 2. Went home and did more research and the next day (today) returned to re visit them and made the deal. I ended up getting over $800 off with the spring sale, a referral from a current mattress owner and signing up for their marketing e mails. I got the Zenhaven latex, which was a surprise even for me but it is the most durable mattress in the store and it felt great, so why not? I was tempted by the motorized frames but didn't go for it. What makes Saatva such a great company is you can return your mattress for another one, add a frame later if you want (those are non returnable, just FYI), etc. The company nails great customer service. Every staff member in the store was super friendly and helpful but Jenny Spitz spent at least 2.5 hours with us answering every question expertly, discussing the options, pros and cons and doing everything to make sure we are happy. They are non commissioned so that is a little surprising but whatever they're doing works because it's way better than a high pressure sales person following you around steering you towards the most expensive mattress. I haven't slept on the new mattress yet but I'm confident I will love it and I know if I don't they will make it right, so that is total peace of mind. I love the company and it would take something catastrophic to change my opinion on that which I don't expect. Unless something changes this review stands as a solid 5 star. Again - do not buy one sight unseen. Be sure to go into the immaculate showroom first - you won't regret it. read more

My husband and I were both experiencing back pain with our previous mattress so I did a deep dive in research on mattresses that specifically supported back pain and side sleeping. At the time, the only show room was in New York (we live in the SF Bay Area). After much research, we decided to take a chance and order a Saatva mattress online WITHOUT having visited the showroom. 5 years later, our back pain has subsided. I was really on the fence about it but after trying all the mattresses out, I think the luxury firm really was the best choice. Robert was extremely nice and addressed both my wife and I during our interaction. He was attentive but also hands off. This is one of the few places to try Saatva mattresses, which are mostly sold online. It's a pleasant change from the chain stores with high pressure salespeople. Initially, we were super excited about receiving our Loom & Leaf mattress! We had tried it in-store and loved the experience. All staff at the store were super helpful and answered all the questions we had. However, this is when almost all pleasantries end. We received another customer's Saatva Classic mattress two weeks after placing our order. When we called in to raise the issue, the customer representative Theresa informed us that she had to take some time to investigate the issue and determine where our actual mattress ended up. If our mattress entered another customer's home, a new mattress would need to be created for us entirely (a lead time of 2 weeks) before delivering it to us. However, if our mattress was still with their Delivery partner, then we can reschedule a delivery drop off. In the mean time, we were encouraged to use the mattress we received until our mattress was delivered. No compensation was offered until we requested; and even then, it was only $100 (for context, just the tax for the mattress was $200+). Theresa ends the call by letting us know that she'll provide us a callback within 24 - 48 hours. After 3 business days, we received no call and so we called back. Our next representative, Shenia, informs us that they still haven't found where our mattress was. We then bring up that we would like more compensation for the delay + the lack of proactive communication regarding this issue. Shenia agrees that the initial concession of $100 was not fair for us but informs us that it would be better to have the discussion after we receive our mattress. She informed us that next steps would be provided soon through a callback. When we asked when this callback would be received, she said that she doesn't know and could not give a timeline (which is interesting because spoiler alert: our final customer representative mentioned that it was company policy for all reps to provide a followup of any kind within 24 hours). Another 2 business days go by and it was radio silent. So we called back and were serviced by representative Sharon. Ms. Sharon informs us that our mattress was found with the Delivery partner and they had attempted to call us to reschedule but we did not answer the phone. We then informed her that we received no calls from anyone in the past few days. She also noticed that all the tickets related to our case were all in a resolved status and was also confused because our issue was not resolved. She told us that she would reach out to the Delivery partner personally and request for a status update and an expedited delivery. She ends the conversation with a promise to personally call us back by the following business day to follow up on the delivery status as well as compensation, and provided her name and personal line. One whole week passes. NO FOLLOW UP. By this time, we already received our mattress; however, we were still expecting a follow up about compensation. We called Sharon's personal line and reached voicemail, so we called Saatva's customer support number for the fourth time. Our final representative, Ina, mentioned that Sharon had gone on vacation and requested for someone to follow up with us on her behalf (which we obviously did not receive). We requested to speak to a manager to discuss additional compensation. Ina was unable to transfer us directly to the manager, but acted as a middleman on our live call. Poor Ina had to type all our responses on our behalf while reading us the manager's responses for the following conversation: The manager asks if another $100 was acceptable. We respond that this was unacceptable due to the extremely disappointing customer service experience we've received in addition to the original mistake itself. The manager then asks what we Would find acceptable to which we respond - a 30% discount. The manager then says that this would not be possible - the maximum discount can only be an additional $100 off. We then ask the manager why they even bothered asking us what we would find acceptable if there was no other option than what they suggested. She responds with an insincere apology and gives us the ultimatum of taking the discount or starting a mattress return. We decided we were done with the headache of having to deal with Saatva ever again so we took the minuscule discount. However, we wanted to share our experience for future buyers out there - what is marketed to you as a "premium" product does NOT equal premium service. We will not be purchasing from this brand ever again - what a traumatizing, mental nightmare. read more

Six months later, I still felt the mattress was too firm for me and the exchange was one of the easiest experiences in my life. Ahtziri at the store was patient with us, as I went through my different mattress options again. I think I might have switched between two different mattresses about ten times, but she understood how big of a decision this was! She helped us with the exchange transaction and our new mattress was ready in no time. Delivery was a breeze and the workers who took care of my old mattress pickup were FAST and so professional. I went in after visiting Mattress Firm and getting an uncomfortable sales pitch and not finding anything we liked. I did some additional homework and found this company gets a lot of good reviews which turned me on (duh, naturally lol, Yelper). We walked in and met Robert. Totally nice, listened to us, let us try everything and didn't push a thing. I was drawn to the most expensive product at first but after trying it in store we weren't totally sold. Then he directed us to a couple of other mattresses and we like the hybrid. We order the mattress, adjustable plus frame, and some pillows. Everything came with a discount and FREE delivery and removal of old mattress. This is unbelievable for the quality you get. Everything came very timely and communication was great. However so far the mattress has been a bit firm from what we're used to. We had a very plush beauty rest for probably too many years and our bodies just got used to it. So honestly we're still adjusting, but what I'm really impressed with is I actually complained about the first nights rest and Robert immediately responded with a solution. I can't say for sure yet if we'll be sticking with this particular mattress but I'm more than willing to work with this company until we find the right fit. Switching only costs $99 plus the difference in price of the mattress which isn't unreasonable at all. I hope it works out but in the meantime the service and care has been spectacular. Oh plus the warranties surpass the rest, I really believe that they care and try to work with you. A+ from me. read more

Amazing product and customer service. Seriously blown away by this company. We were looking for mattresses and visited here during our tour of all the furniture stores. The sales people onsite didn't pressure us at all and we wound up leaving with some things to think about. Well after doing more research we learned about their Solaire product that has two individually adjustable firmness levels. We went back and tried it out and fell in love. It has such a nicer top than something like a Sleep Number. And they have a 365 day in home trial on the product. Today I put that trial to the test by exchanging our Queen that we ordered for a King. I paid the difference and it is now on order. I love the bed, I love the service and I would recommend this brand 100% over and over. read more

I bought my mattress and a leather bed at the Post St SF store approximately one year ago. My purchase experience there was very favorable and I absolutely love the mattress. The mattress is a little bit on the firm side, but that's what I wanted --and the bed is the perfect height for me. Robert was a great salesman. He was knowledgeable and not pushy. Their service was excellent. I also purchased two pillows - they were a little pricey, but are extremely comfortable and worth the spend. Ordering the bed was easy. Getting it delivered has been horrible. Supposed to be delivered today from 10-12. It is now 3 1/2 hours later, I've called and spoken with 4 reps. All promised a call back with new ETA. 3 hours after my first call.... crickets. No call back, no text update, no return calls after 4 requests. Horrible delivery experience. Here I sit.. tic, toc. Our daughter purchased a King Luxury Firm bed, and she absolutely loved it! We, in turn, purchased a Queen. Unfortunately, it was too firm for us and Saatva replaced it with their Plush model, with only a $99 fee for pickup and delivery. We are very pleased with this 14.5" mattress and 4.75" foundation. Throughout the entire process we dealt with the most customer-friendly individuals of any purchase we have made in our 47 years of marriage! They were all extremely courteous and genuinely interested in our total satisfaction. Individuals of note that recently went above and beyond are Denise of the Paramus outlet, as well as Lavie and Shanna who we recently interacted with at Customer Service. Amazing experience!! Five-star brand and customer service! Kanna P. provided me and my husband with EXCELLENT customer service from the time we entered the store to the time we left. Prior to our visit with Saatva, we had browsed other mattress stores in search of a mattress that would fit both of our sleeping needs. We could not find a mattress that would work for our varying sleeping styles and began to worry if we would be able to find something for the both of us. During our shopping experience, Kanna assisted with finding us a mattress that would suit both of our needs. Unlike other mattress stores, Kanna did not pressure us into buying a mattress; instead, she took her time to make sure we were both satisfied before we ultimately decided to make our purchase. Overall, Saatva exceeded my expectations and I can't wait for our mattress to arrive soon. I am very excited and impressed with my experience with Saatva and would encourage all to visit the SF store before settling on a mattress. Wish I could give a lower rating than 1 star. My wife and I purchased one of the most expensive models where the bed is split halfway and each person can raise or lower their side. Unfortunately, the sheets are EXPENSIVE and cheaply designed. The janky elastic has to go from the middle to underneath the mattress, and then adhered with a tiny button which does not hold on each side of the bed. We have had to see a seamstress twice because the cheap elastic keeps breaking. Sadly we got ripped-off and purchased 2 sets of sheets when buying the bed without knowing how poorly designed the bedding was. On top of this issue we have no other choice in sheets which can accommodate this bed. Who knew we had to go into training to feet these sheets which also don't fit the bed right with room for give. I hate changing the sheets, my wife is unable to do it at all and I can't imagine doing this routine for a lifetime!!!!! Not well thought out. I have had numerous issues as the bed is very hot at night and the mattress pad they got us to purchase is even HOTTER! I would never recommend this- BUYER BEWARE! Overpriced! Agree with Dawn P.'s 9/3/2022 review. First of all, we have been shopping over a year for new mattresses. We went last several Black Fridays and during the year's holidays when we saw sales to local mattress stores and was turned off from the sales rep. I was set to buy the Sterns & Foster Estate Rockwell mattress, but notice the Black Friday and other holiday sale price for the Estate Rockwell was the same sale price for non-holiday sales; no special Black Friday sale. Also quite a few times I would see mattress sale ads showing Sterns & Foster, going to local store, and being told the sale did not include the Estate Rockwell mattress. All local stores told me that Sterns & Foster headquarters determines retailer prices for their mattresses. Thus, we were not looking forward to this visit, but our extreme research showed a trip to San Francisco to check out the Saavta Classic mattress may be worth while. This review is about the customer service since we just placed the order and are awaiting delivery. We rode Bart to San Francisco's Montgomery St station and a short walk (0.2 miles 3 mins) to Saatva at 128 Post St. We received a warm welcome from Robert M. upon entering. Robert asked us if we are shopping for a mattress and we replied we wanted to look at the Saavta Classic. Robert provided us two sets of pillow and mattress protections for our use in laying on the mattress. While laying on the first Saavta Classic Robert asked us about our sleeping position (back, side, stomach, mix) and asked us some other personal preferences in the mattress we were shopping for. At no time did Robert steer us to more expensive mattresses or to other mattresses that did not match our personal preferences; unlike our previous local shopping experience. Robert informed us how each mattress firmness we tried was constructed (referring to a display diagram, when available) and the difference from the previous mattresses we tired. He also took the time to explain to us about materials used in other mattresses and how those materials changed the firmness and feel of a mattress. Upon deciding on which mattresses we were going to purchase, Robert asked us if we needed a foundation/box spring and/or frame. He did not assume nor steer us into buying bedding (toppers, sheets, pillows, etc.). We did ask Robert for his recommendations on Mattress Protectors. He brought to us and described the water resistant mattress protector and the waterproof mattress protector. Allowing us to decide instead of leaning us to the more expensive protector. Robert answered all our questions. Unlike some local sales reps that replied to our question, but did not answer the question. At no time did we have to repeat the question to Robert since he answered the question on his first reply. Robert was patient, clear, and thorough. Never looking at his watch nor any clock nor showing any signs we were interrupting him. I believe if we left without purchasing anything, Robert would not have copped an attitude or remarking how we wasted his time like we received from some local sales reps. In fact, Robert informed us that he was there to help us find a mattress/bed that we would be happy and satisfied with. And informed us of the warranty and return policy. All in all, we walked out of Saavta stress free, pleased with Robert's assistance in helping us through a very important investment decision, and relieved that we are finally receiving a new bed and a new mattresses. We found the Saavta's prices very competitive to the Sterns & Foster Estate Rockwell mattress and lots of other mattresses. However, the big difference ..... the Saavta review ratings were higher. Hence, I believe I purchased a Saavta mattress that rated higher and cost less than the Sterns & Foster Estate Rockwell mattress. If you are looking for a new bed or mattress, we highly suggest a worthwhile visit to Saavta at 128 Post St, San Francisco and ask for Robert M. Robert M. did not mention anything to us about doing this or any review, nor about recommending him or Saavta to any one. This is an update to my original review. I found the mattress Saatva originally delivered (the Plush Soft) to be too soft for my needs. I went into their SF store and they helped me try out other models and find one that works for me. It was delivered about a week ago. I am very happy (as is my back) with the new, firmer model. Every step of the way, Saatva customer service has been excellent - a model for what customer service should be, but almost never is anymore. First class all the way. I can not recommend them enough. If you are looking for a new mattress, give them a try, you will be amazed as well. read more

we order the mattress off the website. they have has the mattress complete over a week. they changed our scheduled delivery date twice. we have called multiple times and have been promised a call back. we are now 3 days after the second delivery window they gave us has closed and we still haven't heard anything. not sure what the mattress is like. but the customer service and ordering and delivery process has been a failure. read more

Saatva offers great products with excellent service. I bought a moderately firm Hybrid Memory Foam and Coil mattress. They even have a brick and mortar site to test-drive the stock! Impressive. The delivery was on-time and well handled with truly "white glove" service. I've had a few nights on my new mattress and it has fulfilled its promise. do not order from this company. they advertise that their delivery partner will deliver your mattress on a "mutually agreed upon" date. that is a crock. the delivery service they use in my area is out of state and will only makes deliveries to my state every other week and only on Wednesdays, which is the absolute one day i can not be available. absolutely no flexibility. it took me 2 phone calls to cancel the order. i had also purchased pillows, mattress pad, and sheets. I never received the sheets, but after about 5 phone calls and 2 emails still have not been credited for the sheets. i was really excited about supporting a US company that sells a product made in america, but this has been a farce and i am very disappointed. read more

My husband and I had the most wonderful shopping experience in the Saatva store in SF. I'm not sure how to spell her name (sounds like "Kane-ah") was amazingly helpful, as were her two colleagues. Even though there were people coming in and out, they were all calm, nice, informed; they encouraged us to try every mattress. We ended up purchasing the Saatva mattress we thought we wanted from looking on line, but we needed to try it because we have special needs; it hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure we made an informed decision. Kanna (the viewing room manager) was knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and even inquired about our personal preferences in order to best assist us.
