Robert, the technician, came out to my place twice, once for the initial treatment and again for a follow-up. After the follow-up, the activity had gone down so much, more than I expected. Sealed the likely entrance, built trap boxes ( YouTube... ) and used various baits. Rats are extremely smart and fast. He'd get the food but not caught. After a a few weeks I gave in and searched for an exterinator. The reviews about Joe prompted me to get in touch. The reviews describe him perfectly ! He came the next day. We spent almost 2 hours going around the house inspecting for evidence of entry points, nests, activity as well as getting to know each other. He is truly a nice guy who knows his craft ! Joe seemed impressed by my approach. Thought, based on what he saw, that there might only be the one and didn't see any obvious additional enrty points. He suggested a few new baits and traps and we decided to stay in touch before moving to poison. He refused payment for his time and advice. He promptly replied to my status texts over the next few days. Nobody caught, no success... until I got him ! Sent Joe pictures. Recieved a congratulations reply ! Now going to keep monitoring for a few weeks, traps set. Maybe my problem is solved. Fingers crossed my visitor didn't have friends and family. OMG first let me say, I have an irrational fear of mice. I try to tell myself they're harmless but…read morenothing works and my first instinct is to vacate the premises where I suspect mice may be present. Soooo I saw a mouse in my house. Within a 5 day timeframe my brother and husband caught 3 adult mice and 4 babies. I was besides myself. I was on contract with Orkin. I made an appointment for them to come out and not only did they stand me up but the tech had the nerve to call me 40 minutes after my appointment to tell me he was running late and tried to call me a few times which was a boldfaced lie. I walked around with my phone in my hand because I needed help! I then made an appointment with another big named company. One of the first things the guy on the phone said to me was "we don't move stoves..." I said no problem. I will have my stove and fridge moved before the tech gets there so he can see if there're holes in the walls. I took the morning off from work to wait for them. 2 hours after waiting I call their office and they say they're sorry but they overbooked and the guy couldn't make it until late that night. I was pissed. I called Active and asked if it was at all possible to have someone come to my home that day. The woman that answered the phone first told me she didn't think so but then when she heard the hysteria in my voice she put me on hold and got back on the line and said she had someone that could come out in a few hours. Well, these guys came - an older man and a younger man. Not only did they pull my stove out but they took a piece off the back to show where the mice go to eat crumbs from the stove. They even cleaned it out of the droppings. They took their time and went through every room looking for possible entry points. They found holes which they filled with poison, sealed with wire and then covered with glue traps. For someone coming out on such short notice they didn't rush the job. They took their time. Honestly I felt like they treated my house as if it were their own home. Active Exterminating I can't thank you enough. This was a little over a week ago and I'm getting my confidence back to go in my kitchen but you guys did exactly what I was praying someone would do: examine every wall, ceiling, floor board, etc. and seal any possible entry points. They also took very seriously the fact that I have two small dogs and they made sure to put bait and poison that was not harmful to the dogs and that were also not in reach of the dogs. Thank you!
