A definite must-try when you're in Denver -- the mountain pies. Where else are you going to get a pizza that's inspired by the outdoors? I got the bair paw and I loved it! Not only am I getting a Denver-specialty (the mountain pie), but I'm also getting another local dish, the green chile! Bam! Double double. After getting the personal mountain pie, I was still hungry and was trying to decide between a calzone and a dessert; decided to go for a dessert since I have never heard of a cannoli cake. For me this was on the cusp of 3 or 4 stars, but I'll bump it up for the yummy crust + honey combo that's unique. Came here from a recommendation and was excited to try their Mountain Pie style. My family of 4 went with a medium pie and were able to split it between two options. Honestly, I think all of us were expecting a bit of a larger pizza - the medium felt a bit small, and the slices are short. Definitely wish the slices were longer, but thankfully eating the thick crust was made enjoyable with the honey. I almost never eat my crust - I only eat it if the crust is genuinely tasty or if I'm hungry. In this case, it was more of a sweet treat since it was paired with self serve honey. I enjoyed the Spicy Victoroni a bit more than the Lil Italy. She started to talk to us like we were children and scolded us for ordering wings after telling her what pizza we wanted because "they're system doesn't work like that" and that if we had let her go over the menu we would know that. Happy hour had a lot of food offerings! Last time we went it's been a few years ago during the pandemic but I felt safe eating here as the restaurant was spacious. Great service and tasty food. Definitely a place for carb loading. The Idaho Springs location is typically the one we take our friends and family from out of town, but we live closest to the Arvada location and have had great food here. Our must order is always the stuffed mushrooms and the wings. Of course their mountain style pizzas too! I just checked the happy hour is now on Monday through Thursday from 3-6, $5 for food and drinks on the HH menu. Definitely want to come back and give them a try again. Went here with family for lunch. Wowza! It was delicious but expect a lot of food. We skipped breakfast and were all hungry so it was perfect. The pizza has amazing crust and they give you honey to drizzle on it. If you are on a low carb diet, this isn't the place. I ordered a salad for good measure but definitely had my fill of pizza too. My aunt ordered the adult Mac and cheese and it was in a pizza crust. I've never seen this before and it was incredibly good. Staff was quick and friendly. Probably the best first experience trying a pizza I've ever had. Even my beloved New Haven style had its beginnings in a pizza joint that wasn't 100% authentic. But Beau Jo's the real deal--the real Colorado-made and born Mountain Pie. We thought every bite was amazing-and-a-half, from the great fresh toppings, to the light touches of sauce, and of course the honey-soaked bites at the end. Every taste was a joy, and every joy was one that lived up to the hype. The night's server was impeccable--on the ball, super friendly, and even gave helpful suggestions throughout the night. Even her attempts to upsell, which I normally chafe at, were subtle and not in-your-face like most places. And while we didn't take most of them, it only felt like saying no to a brainstorm and not a pre-gamed question like they do with every customer. The ambience was perfect as well. Lots of room and a good flow to a food joint goes a long way to establish that vibe of a local place being comfy and energetic at the same time. First time at Hada Abu Jose Pizza. This is my impression. The pizza was absolutely delicious.

We shared: Large cranberry and walnut salad minus the Feta and the basalmic vinaigrette dressing on the side so we could add only as much as we like instead of having a salad swimming in dressing which happens at most restaurants. 1 pound Vegan sausage and Vegan pepperoni "Mountain Pie" pizza 1/2 with added Calabrian chili peppers and pineapple on a agave - whole wheat crust. Everything we ordered was delicious. The menu makes finding Vegan and Vegetarian options easy and the wait staff paid attention to details of our order. Food came out in a reasonably quick time, salad first. The food was very enjoyable. I likes adding fresh ground Flatiron Pepper Company 4 pepper blend on my salad. The Calabrian peppers add an oiliness to the pizza, so if that bothers you I recommend adding the fresh jalapeño slices instead. The half of the pizza without the added Calabrian chili peppers and pineapple was delicious as always at Beau Jo's. The next time we are eating at this location, we'll probably just order the pizza without the additional ingredients and I'll grind some of 4 pepper blend on it if I'm wanting more zing at that time. We love this pizza and f7or years before we changed our diet from Vegetarian to Vegan would substitute dairy mozzarella for the Vegan cheese we got today. The tastes and textures are different. I've gotten more tolerant of the Vegan cheeses as I've decided that I enjoy reducing my cardiovascular risks more than I crave dairy. This location is super cool in addition to serving the best pizza you'll find anywhere! I love that they have different kinds of crust including wheat. That way I can feel like I'm eating healthy when I'm devouring this CO treat. The only way to eat mountain pies is to save the crust for dessert and dip it in honey. It's heavily. There's a patio with live music at times. The inside is nice and clean with miner town decor calling to mind the original Beau Jo's. It's a three because the food was great as always. It's also a three because the service was subpar. From the moment we walked through the door, the guy with long blonde hair didn't hide the fact he'd rather be anywhere else. Our waitress, McKenna, seemed to consistently forget she was working. She made us feel rushed the second she finally brought over my drink. She never checked on us when our food came. When my husband went to physically ask for a side of pesto I had requested when I made the order and once again asked when the food came without the sauce, she met him at the window and asked if he needed something when the cooks were already getting ready to give him the sauce. We didn't get water until we were half way finished with our meal. I verbally stated we never got water to my husband and she happened to ask moments later if we wanted water. We locked eyes with her several times just standing at the counter singing songs and she still never came. She went around every table or would disappear somewhere before coming to ask if we needed water or refills on our drinks that had been empty for several minutes. Again, the food was great: the pizza, pasta and wings were great. The drinks tasted like there was no alcohol at all; even after having two. This was a good and unique pizza joint. I am always going to love when I can build my own pizza. I also love when places have sauces other than red sauce or alfredo. I got a small pepperoni pizza with roasted garlic olive oil, so good. I dipped the pizza in the honey and added the crushed red pepper, delicious. LOL, honestly I don't remember what size pizza we ordered because we were pretty loaded from our visit to Coors and bar hopping in Golden earlier in the day, but this pizza was very good. So cheesy. I wasn't a super huge fan of the crust (crunchy texture) itself, but when you dip the braided crust into the honey, WOW. Does it make sense that HONEY is the best thing at a pizza place? My girlfriend invited me to dinner to meet her family. Meeting the family can be awkward for same sex couples so a place with good food and a nice wait staff is paramount. From the time we walked in until the time we left, I was comfortable and impressed. We were greeted, sat and had drink orders taken within five minutes of walking through the door. They serve alcohol and it really helped cut the tension of the evening. Our waitress, Elle, seemed to understand the dynamic and was extra helpful. She was an absolutely wonderful waitress. The spinach and artichoke dip was absolutely amazing. Might very well be the best I've had in several years. We ordered four pizzas and a calzone and all of it was hot, fresh and well prepared. Our glasses were never empty and Elle continuously checked in with us. The bill was very reasonable for as many people as were being fed. The pizza came out relatively quickly, even on a busy Saturday night. The Lil Italy pizza was generously dressed with toppings and the cheese was extremely stringy when pulling it apart; it kind of reminds me of the Chicago deep dish pizzas a bit. I really enjoyed the Flatiron Pepper Co pepper shaker that was on the table. It was spicy and added a good kick to the pie. As for the crust, there is honey to drizzle over the crust. Or if you like dipping it in ranch, you can get a cup on the side. The garlic bread was cheesy and a great appetizer. Something that caught me by surprise was the 5% supply chain surcharge applied to the entire tab. No clue what this actually entails nor were there any notices in restaurant about this. Not a big deal to me on our $40 tab, but if you're dining in a big group, this can add up! Hopefully this is temporary and not permanent.
