We met some friends here last night for dinner. Got there early enough (5:30) that the restaurant area was fairly empty. Our waitress was great- attentive but not intrusive. We tried the new beer they were offering and it was tasty. My wagyu burger was amazing! My husband loved the spicy sausage sandwich. Others tried the chicken chipotle sandwich, fried oyster sliders, and fish and chips. We all enjoyed our food, and it came it a very reasonable time. Five stars for that! I only take one star off because, as many others have mentioned, this place is SO LOUD. Even at our table for six we had to yell to hear each other toward the end of our meal, when the restaurant was full. Bottom line- excellent food. We might try it again for takeout, but will not dine in again. read more

Saturday at 539pm the wait was about 30 min for 2. It only actually was about 20 min. Beers are very good. The charcuterie appetizer was tasty (lots of pate & the bread was awesome). I was so disappointed today when I took my family to Sunday Brunch. We waited over an hour for the food to arrive to our table. I do know there are times when a restaurant gets busy and the kitchen can get a bit behind but an hour wait is unacceptable. We have been there before and never experienced this delay. This review concerns the brunch offered at Beardslee Public House. I've been there several times for happy hours/dinners and those are great! Our group of 5 came in this past weekend for a 10am brunch. We were seated fairly quickly as we had a reservation, but that is where the positives end. It was at least 10 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink orders, and then another 15 minutes before everyone at the table received their drinks (and they came out one at a time, which seemed a little odd for simple mimosas, soda and coffee). It was then another 10 minutes until the waiter came back to take our food order. Additionally, we had to ask repeatedly for ONE refill on water and/or coffee. I can understand needing to remind the waiter once if the place was swamped, but when we had to ask 3 separate times for our refill every time he came over to "check on things", it got irritating. We also sat and watched several waiters/waitresses try to deliver food and drinks to multiple wrong tables. The service overall was extremely disorganized and slow given that the entire restaurant was only about half full at that time. As far as the food goes, I (and the majority of my group) would not come back for brunch. Several of our dishes were cold once they reached the table and both orders of eggs Benedict were extremely overcooked. My dish in particular was bland and disappointing. When a restaurant has a smaller breakfast menu, I would expect that the dishes would taste and be prepared better than they were. I will continue to stop by for the happy hour and dinner menu, but will steer clear of Beardslee's brunch in the future. read more

Great location but a poorly run establishment. Saturday afternoon and we were told they can't get Comcast to give them the right deal so they have nothing on their T.V.'s, no college ball, no Seahawks, nothing. Then we were told they had only a limited food menu until 4:30 pm which included only pretzels and pizza. The pizza was just ok and the pretzels were way over cooked. We had such high hopes for this place but it is truly a fail! Don't waste your time or money here. read more

We ate here for the first time last night. The menu has something for everyone. I had the Halibut & Chips my husband had the veggie burger. Both meals were very good. The only complaint is the noise level. We initially sat inside but moved outside because we couldn't have a conversation. It felt like we were inside a cafeteria. Not bad. Food was good, service was good, worth going again. Biggest problem was the prices. A chopped salad for $16? That seems excessive, unless you're in downtown or something. Maybe this area is trying to be upscale? Hmmm. Let me rephrase: "worth going again, if it was about 25% cheaper." We didn't eat in the restaurant section, but rather the outside seating/bar area. This place has great ambiance and good food. The Kalbi "Meat Candy" was incredible and the Deviled Eggs to die for. The Fish and Chips were good too. One suggestion; just because you are close to a college campus doesn't mean patrons should settle for sub mediocre college Pub like service. I ordered a "Diet Coke" with a lemon. When the waitress brought the drink in a shorter glass I should have known it wasn't right. Instead I take a sip and it's a whiskey and coke. Loud. Not proud. I'm not a sound engineer but acoustics were not taken into consideration. I went mid-week when they were less busy but it's still hard to hear unless the person you're talking to is right by you. The food is good but the prices are too high. Even $1 - $2 less on each dish would be helpful. The fish and chips were actually a nice surprise. Still shocked fries didn't come with the burger my wife got. This was a gem of a find on our way to Seattle from Vancouver. Restaurant was clean, food was great, service with a smile, wait staff amazing! Perfect atmosphere for watching a football game and chillin for an hour. We will definitely return on our next trip up that way! read more

All the food I had was pretty good and some were even creative. I had the ultimate bacon burger which was decadent and awesome but it's not something I would order all the time. The pizza was good and the people I was with said the beer was great. I would say the only complaint I had was the price of food but I guess it's in line for a high end pub. read more

Hey, I feel as though these guys have gotten off to a rough start (based on the previous reviews ), but they are well on their way to #winning. My husband and I went to dinner here last night. It was so good. Did you know they make their own ketchup? Yes, they do. It's amazing. It was so fresh and so good. We had the deviled eggs and they were fully stacked and awesome, we also had the crab dip, which was so perfectly balanced. It was true crab dip. Not a sprinkle of crab with a pound of cream cheese and some spices...it was worth the $15 dollars. Yes the portion isn't that big, but let's be real- Crab is like $25.99 a lb at the store....sooo? Also, if you don't like the price, don't order it. =) For the vegetarians out there, the veggie burger has a lot of great flavor and it is served on a brioche bun! What else?...Oh the drinks! I had the spicy pear; t'was a little sweet, but still yummy, it could stand to be a little spicier, my hubs had the beer! Loved the Porter. Okay, on to the SERVICE! Which was spectacular, genuine, and fun! Mind you we sat at the bar. It was a really good time. The runner who brought us our food was a breath of fresh air. He was awesome. The (3) sauces that came with the Pretzel were very very good - loved the honey whipped butter. (5)*****Drinks were Great. I tried their own wine and Vodka - excellent drinks. (5)*****Desert was great, baked cookie w/ice cream on top. (5)*****The staff was friendly, helpful and did a great job waiting on us. (All of them...they all seem to cover for each other and help out - which is nice). (0)* On the Noise level.... It was not pleasant. My ears hurt when I got out of there. In order to hear the conversations of the 3 other people at my table you needed to lean in to hear them and even then it was still hard to hear. There were very large groups of people at the place when we were dinning. One table must have had 20 to 25 people at their table. It's hard to compete against that. All you need in a situation like that is a few very loud people and it then becomes annoying. I'm sure this Noise thing can be fixed a little . The next time we go there to eat & drink we will trying sitting in the bar area to see if that is any better. read more

Great food and atmosphere- but the acoustics were horrible. I could barely hear my friend sitting next to me. I was there there 2nd week they were opened and the waitress was pretty flustered and made several mistakes. Not surprised as they had just opened- so need to cut them some slack here. First time here. Very nice after work day so the patio was the perfect place to be!! Good service and while the food wasn't amazing it wasn't bad either. First time here...came all the way from Maple Valley to have the Ultimate Burger (60% ground chuck, 40% ground bacon with Applewood smoked bacon and Canadian bacon). The burger, fries and French press coffee were all very good. If in the area I would have it again. The service on Father's Day was mixed. Arrived and wanted to sit in the restaurant and not the bar... just my wife and I. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait or we could sit in the bar where there was open seating and the same menu. There were a total of 6 groups of people in the restaurant and well over half of the restaurant was empty, so not sure why the wait? Restroom was fairly clean, but did not have any paper towels to dry my hands. The wait staff however, was friendly, responsive and overall pretty good. read more

What a fun place, it is spacious and has a comfortable warm atmosphere. Every staff member i encountered was great, pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our server, I believe Raz was their name (it was a bit loud from many patron voices) was absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, helpful with the menu, attentive and very efficient. Seriously, every staff member I interacted with was top notch. The food was great too my partner and I ordered a Beardslee favourites tray and split a veggie burger with sweet potato fries as the side. I was so impressed with the split presentation. We want had or own cup of fries and sauce and it was all just put together so nicely. We also weren't charged a split fee which I really appreciate. Back to the food. I loved everything on the Beardslee favourites tray the deviled eggs were my favorite. It provides a good portion of everything. Really we probably didn't need the veggie burger after it, but I'm glad we're tried it. The burger patty itself was a little bland but with the pickled onions and condiments it was tasty. The sweet potato fries were very yummy, nicely seasoned, the dipping sauce that came with them was awesome. I definitely ate every last drop. The sauce was really good on the burger too. When I first came here when it opened, the service was slow, but now they have everything down! I really like the flavor of the pizzas, salads and the burgers. They seem to be much more tasty than other places. The pizza dough is so good and the meat on the burgers have so much flavor, most other places you need to add a lot of condiments, but not here, it's seasoned really well. I went in with high expectations but left fairly disappointed. We sat in the bar late on a Friday night and were offered water and a menu right away which was encouraging. The disappointing part was that there was no food offered at that time in the bar. Really? Having never been a Howie restaurant I was excited to try some appetizers but we weren't even offered nuts with our drinks. Needless to say, we didn't hang out long. As I've seen others mention, the acoustics were not the best and made for loud conversations all around. The atmosphere is cool though. Our waitress was attentive but I could tell she wasn't happy that we didn't order more drinks....but sorry, we needed food! I hope the issues mentioned in other posts get smoothed out, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here any time soon. read more

Awesome! So glad we found this place! Our server Tony was attentive and knowledgeable about the food and the ales. The halibut and chips were some of the best I've ever had! It almost feels like these having an identy crisis where they want to be a brewery that you can go and be a regular but once you're there a meal with beer ends up costing 20 + bucks which is more on the pricey side for the type of clients they're focusing on. read more
