I am beyond grateful for these boys! This shop is ran with honesty, integrity, and humility. Bearden and staff not only care about the life of your vehicle but also the life of the human inside of it. A rare thing to come across, but beautiful to see, people that care about people. What a gift! I have never felt such trust and comfort in an auto shop. I recently took my 2008 Lexus RX8 in for an oil change, knowing something was going on with my front left tire, my strut had been leaking. They went above and beyond, notified me there was also an expired recall on my vehicle, something the previous owner did not take care of. Something serious enough to put the car out for good, and out of all the places I've been, none had acknowledged it. Long story short, we were able to work together to knock out a little mighty list of things to ensure my safely and the longevity of the vehicle! A-one! My 12 year old lexus was eating batteries and that caused the security system to become deranged. After recharging battery and doing everything we could find on google to get the security system to let loose we finally threw in the towel. I didn't want to go to dealership so I found Bearden on Yelp. Called them up, told them the situation and they got me in the next day. Also recommended a reputable towing service (Interstate Chaparral). They found the problem and took care of it. Super fair pricing on diagnostics as well as parts and labor. As a plus, they didn't try to upsell me on ANYTHING. I hold my breath when I take my car for repairs, especially an older car, because sure, there are any number of things that might not be in tip top condition. I've gone to Bearden many times over the years for minor and major Lexus and Toyota repairs as well as taken in multiple Lexus cars for buyer checks. My favorite Bearden story is once I took a Sienna van to them that the Toyota dealership told me needed CV boots to the tune of $1500 (my son took it to the dealership, not me!!) and I called Bearden and they gave me a much better price and said they'd get the parts and get it done the next day. Took the van in, 10 minutes later they came and got me in the waiting room, took me under the van and showed me that the boots not only didn't need to be replaced, but that they looked pretty darn good and there was no evidence at all of any leaks. That was 20K miles ago - including 2 trips to Canada, Good guys. Highly recommended - 5 stars! read more

Charles Maund Toyota: "It will take $6,500 to fix your car." Bearden Automotive: "Hold my beer..." Stranded in a Whataburger parking lot, I towed my car to the only place I could think of at the time... Charles Maund. The service manager Angel, was very nice and helpful. They diagnosed my car the same day and came back with ​a solution to the problem. Or perhaps I should say that they "diagnosed" my car the same day and came back with a "solution" to the "problem". They claimed that battery corrosion ate through at the wires connecting the alternator to the battery. Due to how the car was made, the only option was to replace the "complete wiring harness" and it was going to cost $6,500. Needless to say that was a hard pill to swallow. I called another shop and they said they couldn't take on a project that big, and then referred me to Bearden. I called Bearden and I felt much better about the situation within a few minutes of talking to Josh. He said he had no guarantees without seeing the car, but he could likely do it for considerably less. So, I took a risk and I paid to tow my car to them. THANK GOD I DID! Guess what ya'll? They tested the voltage going into that wire and the voltage coming out of that wire, and there was nothing wrong with the wire. So what did they do? They slapped a battery in that sucker and the car came back to life! They continued to test it and even took it for a lengthy stroll, and it runs perfectly! I'm not sure if Charles Maund just thought "oh, she won't bother towing it anywhere else..." or if they actually DO think there was corrosion in the wires. But honestly, it doesn't matter. What matters is that Josh had the opportunity to charge significantly more for the repair. And instead, he simply fixed what was wrong. In an industry that is notorious for taking advantage of unsuspecting people, Bearden is the place you can trust. Bearden will not only be the place we take all of our vehicles, but it will be the only place we recommend to any of our friends. Thanks for being the rockstars we badly needed! Do not trust this place, especially for major repairs. I brought my car in august of 2018 to have my car's engine mounts replaced. My Toyota Solara convertible had 100k+ miles and it need quite a few repairs. As a young & naive college student that's financially self sustaining , I was looking for a reputable shop. I came across Bearden with great reviews & thought wow this is going to be the place I come to for all my repairs! I was gravely mistaken for trusting this shop. They charged me 1k to replace all of my engine mounts but only replaced one -- obviously the one that's most visible. I remember having one of the shop members "show" me the repair after they were done and thought to myself "Bearden really goes above & beyond,wow." I was a 20 year old girl with absolutely no knowledge of what an engine mount even looked like??? I come to find this out two years later as I'm performing a repair that's due to my car's original engine mounts still being in place. Do not trust these people! read more

We're a loyal Toyota family and we trust our precious metal babies to Bearden for everything from oil changes to scheduled maintenance since we got tired of being nickled & dollared by the dealership. If anything else ever went south on our Prius or PreRunner (hey, they're Toyotas, so they don't break unless you're doing it wrong or have passed the 300K mile mark), we know that Bearden could handle that, too. The exteriors & interiors of the shop are definitely not what I'd call attractive, but you won't mind when you realize that the money they could have spent on fancy landscaping, furniture, and espresso machines has been subtracted from your bill. Beside trusting that my vehicles will be properly serviced by mechanics who know everything there is to know about Toyotas (and Scions and Lexus), I really like that the service manager, Pamela, is a woman who knows more about cars than any man I ever met. She will greet you with a genuinely friendly smile and give you no B.S. about what they can do, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. Honest, dependable, & fairly priced. UPDATE: It's a year later but I need to provide an update to this review based on some new information. In brief, while Bearden is pleasant to work with and easy to talk to, I am not so sure about the quality of their estimates. On a prior visit there were two things in particular they recommended that I decided not to do: one was replacing a leaky gasket that was dripping oil onto an engine mount (could soften the mount and cause engine movement), and one was a crushed exhaust flex pipe (which would keep me from passing inspection). A year later, I'm back home to my regular mechanic, and he took a look at the estimates and disagreed entirely. On the leaky gasket, he said it could theoretically jeopardize a control arm, but that the engine mount was enclosed in a steel cover and would not be threatened. He recommended against a $1,000+ repair job to prevent possible damage that, IF it happened, would cost $400-500 to fix. He also showed me that the flex pipe was not crushed, simply a half inch out of place, and pointed out that I've passed inspection twice without having it done. The other thing that sort of hacked me off a bit is that when I took it in with 98,000 miles on it, they replaced some timing belts and did a thorough inspection but did not replace or even recommend new spark plugs or other basic 100,000 mile maintenance items. They could have saved me a chunk of money if they'd had in mind to do so: my mechanic will always combine things like this if he sees an opportunity to reduce future labor or prevent a follow-up. I know it's not their job to be the customer's advocate or be proactively looking to save me money: in contrast, they exist to make a profit, and I understand and respect that. So while I won't say anything bad about Bearden Automotive and would probably patronize them again if I still worked in the area, I will say that it always helps to ask friends/family to suggest a trustworthy mechanic to do the work for you or at least give a second opinion. ---- I love finding places like Bearden Automotive that really care about their trade and providing top quality service. How have I not already reviewed these guys?? I've been to Bearden Automotive a few times now and am always pleased with the results. I don't feel like I'm being jerked around. Everyone there is former Lexus staff and really knows their stuff. I feel like Pam is basically an old friend by now from the amount of time we've spent talking about and looking at my car. I had a suspension issue that Firestone told me was critical and would cost $2800 to fix. When I called a second Firestone, they contradicted the first (I didn't tell them it was another Firestone) and told me I'd be fine taking it somewhere else (hopefully to them). Instead I brought it to Bearden and saved a LOT of the Firestone price. I've been there twice having small problems (both were stupid user error). Both times they were able to come out, troubleshoot, and fix at no charge. I'm pretty sure Lexus would have rummaged around for a while and found a reason to ding me for $80 somewhere. (Hint: If your trunk won't open, apparently there's some magical trunk-lock button in the glove box!) Anyway, you're in good hands at Bearden. read more

Cars and trucks today are becoming increasingly complex, and rather than go to my neighborhood every- brand shop, I wanted to find an honest brand specialty shop that I could trust even if it meant I had to drive (Bearden is about an hour drive for me). After my ToyotaCare expired, I've taken my 2016 4Runner to Bearden for two routine 5000 mile checkups. Both service checks have been less than $80. Although I haven't had anything for them to fix yet, I can tell they focus on addressing what's wrong with the vehicle, not pushing services or components on you that you may not need yet. For reference, my 30k checkup at the Toyota dealership cost $850. Toyota and Lexus vehicles will provide a headache free ownership experience for decades if you take care of them competently and proactively. Excellent care. We were across town from our usual mechanic and wanted to schedule a buyer's check for a used car before considering it for purchase. They had a couple options and to be thorough we went with the most expensive. They found larger problems, called us part way through, and gave us a chance to cut it and pay for the baseline inspection. I am very selective about where I will take any of my vehicles. I am a decent home mechanic and I'll do about 90% of the work myself, but I had an issue that plagued me. I thought for sure it was wheel bearings and decided to drop of the truck and let them do the job. A few hours later they called back with good news. The bearings were not the culprit, but my tires had high spots that would rumble at low speed. They are out of the way for me, but I'll be taking my vehicles there from now on. I had a 2006 GS300 with over 200k miles that they treated like it was new. At Sewell in Dallas, I was treated like a second class citizen because my car wasn't new. The repairs were done exactly when they said it would be. My alternator had been replaced 6 months prior, an Autozone part put in by a mom and pop mechanic. They let me know that's what the issue was and let me have the old part to take it back to Autozone for a refund! They did not have to do that. They were so honest. Their prices are only a bit lower than a dealership and a bit higher than a small shop but that makes sense. You get dealership quality at a discounted and fair and reasonable price. Bearden services Lexus and Toyota automobiles. I discovered this place because I was spending way too much money at the Lexus dealership. I read somewhere that Bearden used to be the head mechanic at the Lexus dealership, so I figured he knew what he was doing. My Lexus service guide said that I was due for a new timing belt, which was going to be expensive. I called Bearden to ask how much they charged for the service. They told me that my car probably did not need a new timing belt and asked that I bring it in. They looked at it and showed it to me. It looked brand new! 30,000 miles later and I am still using the same belt. No doubt the dealership would have replaced it at that time. Overall their services are cheaper than the dealership. I have had no problems with the service and everyone there has been friendly. They do not have the food and drink selection (to say nothing of the leather massage chairs) that the dealership has, but I do not miss those amenities. Riding in my inherited 2007 Scion had been a reliable experience until last week. The engine light suddenly came on and nothing I did tampering under the hood would correct it. Some context, I drive my two boys home every afternoon... so the idea that my vehicle could potentially break down on I-35 with a baby and a 5-year-old is a huge no-no. My lady had used Bearden for her car (which I inherited) previously, so I jumped onboard. Gave them a call and they let me know I'd be able to drop it off immediately. Fast forward to that afternoon and I get a call from Josh. He lets me know that they didn't think the issue was serious and suspected a faulty gas cap was to blame. Sure enough, a few hours later he called to confirm they'd received a new cap from their parts delivery and placed it on my car... and miracles, the light went off. Bing-bang-boom. Not once did they attempt to sell me additional services, caution me on unnecessary tweaks/adjustments or any other nonsense I've come to expect as a car-driving adult. They were professional, fast, and most of all, reliable. Now I'm back on the road and the Tick is doing just fine. Long overdue review of Bearden Automotive. I've been taking my '99 Lexus RX-300 and my Toyota RAV4 here for at least the last 8 years so much that Josh and Jeff know me by name.
