Longview is the world capital of chain restaurants, but that's not always a bad thing. I came here…read morewhile in town for a funeral because I knew I could count on a really good fish sandwich ... except corporate decided to remove it from the menu. Oh well. The atmosphere here is quasi-dark, in a Texas Roadhouse/Red Lobster sort of way, and the seating is comfy. Bathrooms are also clean. Service here on my handful of visits has been spectacular. All of that speaks to excellent management at this location. Though I think that pickles should be served cold and from a jar, the other people in my party insisted on the fried version here. They loved them. The fried mozzarella ('crooked fried cheese') was average. While there was nothing wrong with it, there was also nothing spectacular about it. The fish and chips, on the other hand, were pretty damn good -- crispy and hot with a nice thick fillet. If only they could've served it between two slices of toasted bread. Anyway, the fries were also nice and crispy, and the slaw was crunchy, cool and creamy. Someone else in my party ordered the mushroom burger, and they were quite pleased. Honestly, it looked divine. The draft beer menu here consists of major brews with nary an IPA, though there are some macro bottled selections. Still, everything was served quickly and cold. It's rare that I eat at chains, unless I'm on the road and need to swing through a drive-thru. This place, however, does a very good job.

Unfortunately, our experience at Rotolo's Pizzeria was disappointing. The restaurant appeared clean…read morewhen we picked up our order, but the food itself lacked flavor. The chicken Alfredo was very bland, especially for a dish that cost $17.50. The garlic balls that came with the pasta were hard and seemed stale. The service was also frustrating. The employee taking the order over the phone was difficult to understand and gave confusing information about the discount. At first, I was told the meal would be half off, but later it was changed to only $5 off. The explanation was unclear, which left me confused about the pricing. Our total came to around $38, and even our kids didn't want to finish their meals. For the price we paid, we expected much better food and clearer customer service. Overall, we left disappointed.

This is more of a 3-star review based on my overall experience, which reflects not just the…read moreLongview location, but Rotolo's as a chain. The main issue was the ordering process--it was frustrating from start to finish. I was trying to place a group lunch order, and one person requested a turkey burger. Apparently, only select Rotolo's locations offer that item, and Longview wasn't one of them. It would be helpful if the menu was consistent across all locations, or at least clearly marked to show which items are location-specific. Getting in touch with the Longview location was also a challenge. I tried calling multiple times, even just 10 minutes before opening, and couldn't get anyone to pick up. If you're a restaurant that handles lunch orders, it would make sense to have someone available a bit earlier to take phone calls and prepare for the day. I even contacted the Tyler location hoping they could assist since I was driving and trying to place the order remotely, but they told me they couldn't help with orders for another location. For a chain restaurant, there should be a better system in place--one where locations can at least support each other or help facilitate orders if needed. Eventually, I was able to reach the Longview store and place the order, but the whole process was inefficient and unnecessarily stressful, especially for something work-related. There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to communication, consistency, and overall coordination between locations.

Thursday for dinner we ordered the bacon cheddar burger and ohmygoodness, it's amazing. They lost points, however, because their service (especially the bartenders) was the worst I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we didn't get to have anymore menu items and had to choose between a few easy meals. They weren't tasty and we ended up trashing the food and ordered pizza once and Whataburger for others. I wouldn't consider this place a restaurant or a real bar. It's like a low budget organization with employees who are too busy vaping than serving customers. Next year we will bring our own food and drinks since most of us don't have an extra 30 minutes to order a drink because there was way too few workers. Unfortunately, I'd not recommend it to anyone who I liked.

It's not overpriced and on par with other American/sports bar restaurants in town. My favs were the wings (so crispy and fall off the bone!), the twirly potato wedges that I can't remember what they're exactly called, and the veggie pasta. Ask for the wedges seasoned. What makes this place so great is the variety and how fresh everything comes out. Also the bar area and patio are pretty chill. For Longview, what's better then a place with good food, wings and no wait!?

UNTIL: a family of 5 were seated in the booth next to us. 2 young children, one 3-4 years old, another in a stroller. The older one hung on the glass barrier between the booths and it bent under her weight. I worried it would break and injure my 90 yr old mother. Parents were only interested in their phone. Then the baby started screaming, again no attempt by parents to comfort. No waitresses or owner intervention to request control. Another patron strolled over and politely asked that the quiet the child. Father rudely told the "old man to f' off and go sit down." Only then did the "mother" attempt to quiet the child. They then proceeded to complain to the manager that the man had been aggressive. He apologized to them! My husband and I got up and went and thanked the man. He was only a few minutes ahead of us complaining about the children. We could not talk to each other as we ate because we couldn't hear each other. So this is a good/bad review. The food was great and worth the money for our celebration but our experience was ruined by staff/managements failure to provide a nice environment and parents not willing to control their children.
