Ok, here's my three star reason. As of February 22nd, they only have 4 beers. So what's wrong with that? Well since it is a brew "pub" they can only serve beer that is above 5% alcohol. So what's wrong with that? Well in my personal opinion I felt like the beers were all pretty much the same, hoppy. Even the blonde I had was very hoppy. In fact I am wondering how they can even call it a blonde. The stout had a bitter aftertaste as well. We didn't have food here so I can't comment on that. But this space is really fantastic. Indoor/outdoor, place for live music and lots of picnic type tables so there's plenty room for everyone. The bar area is small. Wish that would have been a bit larger. Helpful hint: if you walk in and there's a line, it's to get a table for food. If you just want beer go to the right and you'll see the bar. read more

"Family and kid friendly " no! If you want to go to a place where the parents allow their kids to go crazy and also sit next to aggressive dogs( cause they allow pets). Then this place is for you. We have 6 kids and our kids. So we enjoy going to places where kids and pets are welcome. Especially patio seating. But we drove 45 min to come here cause it looked like a good brewery with food. They allow kids to play dodge ball with the cornhole and even tho we asked the staff to ask them to stop after we were hit 3 times while eating. They told us we had to confront the parents. So I did. Which also cause tension between now two families. And the staff did nothing. So if you want to deal with unruly kids and fight with other parents, this place is for you. Shocked at how much I enjoyed the beer here, was even more shocked at how great the service was here and how helpful they were at the bar when I couldn't figure out what to drink. This has definitely become one of my go to places to unwind and have some good food and beers. read more

The food was good and I appreciate the work done by the kitchen staff that's why I gave 3 stars, but being chastised for ordering early after being told to do so by the staff is not how you treat paying customers and is a significant detractor. I understand people have a bad day now and then, or have frustrations, but looking at previous reviews, this seems to be a relatively common occurrence and the ordering policy seems to be the source of much of the frustration. There are other places with a comparable product with a more welcoming atmosphere without being lectured. read more

My family and I attended last night 2/24/19 and really enjoyed the atmosphere! I myself have been waiting since I found out that they were a brewery to check them out! They had live music and drinks of all kinds for my pregnant wife and kids to choose from! There were people dancing in a small area by the stage as well! We opted out of getting anything besides an appetizer only for the fact that we were only planning staying a very short time since bed times were just around the corner! The queso was very good could of used a little more chips but that happens at every place so not a big deal! I tried 2 of the 4 beers that were on tap and loved both of them! The prices on the food and drinks were very reasonable compared to other places around town! We enjoyed it enough just from the short time we were there that we decided to go on date night there later in the week to try the food and a new appetizer as well as the other beers that I did not try! 3/1/2019 We tried the food (Ol' Smokey) and the remainder of the beer I had not tried! The food was amazing absolutely loved it the beer was great as well the pecan porter was my least favorite personally it is just not my style of beer(I wanted to try them all) but still very good and tasteful! Beer is really good. Atmosphere is outstanding!! TVs everywhere. Patio is fantastic. Chicken tacos and the beef tacos were amazing. We also tried both salads-very good as well!! My family and I end up in marble falls after hiking a lot. One day there won't be a 2 hour wait for the bluebonnet cafe and I'll try it, but, until that mythical day arrives, I'll keep going here instead. The the venue is pretty awesome - you'd think you're in Austin, not Marble Falls. The beer is legit (though I would like a nitro tap to kick it up a notch). The food didn't disappoint either. Had the dry rub wings and the chip trio and it was quite tasty (love a good dry rub wing when it's nice and crispy). The kid's menu needs some work however. All in all a great place to chill, drink, and eat. read more

Didn't think it was not worth what we paid, especially for the canned drinks. Service was odd, but get they are being overly cautious due to COVID. Stopped by Bear King when we were in Marble Falls for the weekend. I could not partake in the beer as I am currently pregnant, but my husband ordered the amber and said it was good. The reason I am giving this establishment 5 stars though is because of how safe I felt in it. The tables on the patio where we sat and indoors were all spaced very far away from each other, much more than 6 ft. All ordering and payment was done through their website, employees would just drop off your order at your table. All of the employees I saw there were wearing masks. The entire place was sparkling clean and felt as sterile as an empty hospital. Great place to go out too during these strange times. read more

I should have taken pics. We went here after going to the strawberry picking farm. As appetizer we had the brisket nachos. They are phenominal!The red pickled onions with the nacho cheese and brisket was to die for! Yumm! My hubby ordered the carnitas cali style and said it was delicious! I had the shrimp tacos and they are not as good. My son had the bbq wings and he ordered a second plate. That tells you how much he loved them. Look, I'm sure the Blue Bonnet Cafe is good if there is a line outside on Sunday that doesn't seem to ever get shorter. However, if you would rather be relaxing and enjoying a nice atmosphere, some really great food, and sports on the screen then get out of that line now and walk over to Bear King. We had the burger, which was delicious. All the fixins were great and the meat was juicy. I also had the Green Bird tacos (Chicken tacos). They were REALLY tasty and had all the right ingredients to make them interesting. Can't comment on the drinks but the food and the atmosphere were really good! read more

OK, I want this place to make it, because the tacos were great and it's awesome to see a cool new brewery in Marble Falls. Here's the good and the not-so-good... Good = 1) The tacos are great! 2) The look and and feel of the place is solid! 3) The beer is pretty good. Not-so-good = 1) You can't pay for your food if you also want beer, and they hold your credit card in the food line when you open a tab! So wonky & I almost drove back home (40 miles) without my card! I was told it was to prevent people walking without paying. Every other place I go has electronic hold for tabs - no reason for having a system from the 1990's. 2) There is no place to sit, even if it's not crowded. We wanted to sit outside, but the patio is open to the west side, and there is a wooden screen on the east side, so no air flow and full 6pm sun. It was hotter on the patio than in the parking lot, which explains why exactly 0 people were sitting there on a really nice day with decent temps. The tables inside are arranged so that only about 8 tables are available in the best area - the rest are in another blah room on the west side with big windows so you get the full glare setting sun. 3) The pimento cheese dip was brought out already spread on toasted bread on a bed of lettuce. So it turned into soggy bread before we could take 2 bites. 4) the beer was pretty good, but not really good, and a limited offering. I really want this place to make it, so I'm hoping the owners are doing the whole what's working-what's not thing and planning to improve this place. If they are really looking, they'll get a new POS system that holds the credit open without the physical card being held - I've forgotten to close my tab before, and the places I frequent have electronic hold and closed it out for me - get this! Rearrange those tables, maybe get different tables, and take that pony wall down. There is a ton of room in the best part of this place if you set it up right. Put up a sun block on the west side of the patio (one that allows air flow) and take down that east side screen so that a breeze can get through and the place isn't a hot cave. Put some window overhangs outside to keep the sun from glaring into that west room, and maybe do a little rearranging/decorating to make that room not feel like it's the stepchild of the rest of the brewery. And finally, up your game on your food and especially, beer. You're off to a good start, but the craft beer scene is exploding and is competitive. Go from pretty good to really good or amazingly good! There is no shortage of resources and people in the hill country that are fully invested in making this whole brew movement happen - lean on them. And maybe carry some additional local brews until you can get a full offering - it doesn't just have to be your beers. This place has incredible potential, and I hope they are looking at themselves trying to figure out how to reach that, and not just patting themselves on the back for having opened a brewery. That's just the first step. Hoping they figure it out. Looking forward to another visit. read more

Friendly beginning service, but we felt as though we weren't welcome even though we arrived for a beer 40 mins before they closed. As we were outside enjoying our beer... the beertenders decided to start putting the benches on the tables, mopping, and leaving us feeling uncomfortable. Marble Falls is really a city we are driving to more often than Bee Cave when we are looking for low key atmosphere and oh by the way, good beer and food. We tried about six different samples, including a mixture of two, before settling on the Birds Word porter and hefeweizen. Coupled with a burger, the veggie tacos and truffle fries made for a great lunch on the patio. By the way, these were not your average veggies tacos with soft, overcooked carrots but a grilled mixture topped with queso fresca and avocado. Yum. read more

Stumbled into to Bear King when the line next door was too long for lunch (60+ minutes). It was wonderful. We had nachos with chicken, and shrimp tacos. Both were flavorful and a good size.
