They don't keep a lot of firearms onsite, but they have a huge selection on their website! I use their website a lot since it allows me to find hard to find firearms (like CZs and CZ clones), without having to pay shipping or FFL fees that you have to pay for online retailers. The website is very easy to use and much better designed than a lot of websites for other local gun shops. If you have a hard time finding the gun you want at other shops, I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Look on the website and find what you want before you go. read more

I am new to the area and this place seemed relatively close. The gentleman seemed to be the owner or one of the owners. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and maybe a little to open on where else to shop. His recommendations based on what I said were great because I could tell he wanted me to be satisfied. He steered me away from a more expensive shotgun to one that could be used in both hunting and home protection. Those are the things I like, when a guy is more interested than selling just an expensive firearm. Unfortunately, the selection was pretty small but they had some nice arms that I would love to own. I recently decided to get a handgun for personal defense. I wasn't sure what would be best for a concealable pistol so I wanted some knowledgeable counsel. I went to 5 gun shops in the area to see what was available. In each of them it seemed that the staff expected me to know what I wanted when I walked in and expected me to buy on the spot. Then I remembered seeing Bear Arms in the Kent area and tried them. It's a family business run by a gentleman and his wife and son. The guy I talked to was quite willing to take as much time as needed to show me the ins and outs of several different pistols and tell me about the pros and cons of each. No pressure to buy right then but sincerely interested in my business. They have a web site that has real-time inventory so I could tell whether what I wanted was available or not. When I saw that it was, I went back and the lady that waited on me was very helpful in filling out the requisite paperwork and talking to me about the accessories I would need. I initially stopped into Bear Arms with a few questions about a handgun I was interested in buying, everyone was very friendly, courteous and answered my questions without hesitation even though I did not purchase anything I felt very welcome. I did return and purchased the gun , ebverything went very smoothly and within a short time I was the owner of a nice pistol, I returned and purchased a few more items and again was greeted and assisted, what a pleasant experience ! Charged me $100 more than the price I found on-line. When I pointed out the price difference the owner told me that their prices depend on the day even when it was $100 less the day before I bought the gun and $100 less after I bought the gun. Absolutely ridiculous! I will never buy another gun from them. Cabela's not only has better deals, but the people are much friendlier. Very disappointed. read more

I was very disappointed with the store. In my opinion they had a very limited section of handguns at the store. They have a large inventory at their warehouse, but you cannot see or handle those unless you buy them FIRST. Then it takes "3 to 5 days" to get it in the store. Who would buy a gun without seeing it in person or handling it first? Would you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on first? In my opinion that is a very strange business model. Needless to say, I will buying my firearms at a store with a larger inventory that you can actually handle, compare to others, etc. read more

Prices are very good on both new and used firearms. I have bought several times from this shop. I think they have a big opportunity with service. I have personally never felt welcome in the store. People are slow to respond to your presence in the store and questions are answered like you are prying info out of them. Last time i went in I finally decided I had enough of the cold shoulder. BTW I purchase about $3,000 worth of firearms each year. I have had to purchase from the national chain outfitter because at least there they act like they want your business. if you want inexpensive firearms shop here. I usually go to west coast in Factoria but since moving, this shop is right by our house. My boyfriend had some questions and decided to stop in. He came home and said that it was a husband and wife running the place and they were the most nicest, respectful, honest and helpful people he's ever encountered.
