Green Tea Chai Chiller
Liz G.

The best local drive-thru alternative to Starbucks (but it's WAY better than Starbucks)! The staff is SO friendly & helpful when asking questions about the menu. I got the green tea chai chiller & it was sooo good! Every drink comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean, love that subtle touch! The pricing is very comparable to other coffee shops. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in line either. I always look forward to stopping at BeanThru whenever I'm near one of their multiple locations!

Double chocolate chip muffin

Yum!!! My go to coffee place because who doesn't need a drive thru? They have a million options from black coffee to crazy concoctions. I usually get a black coffee and this time I added some English toffee flavor. So good. I also got my kids a double chocolate chip muffin which of course, I snuck a bite of. They are huuuge and so good. The people that work here are always so pleasant and happy to help when trying to decide as well. It's a great way to start your morning or have an afternoon pick me up.

BeanThru used to make the best coffee around. Recently they have changed to making all their flavored coffees excessively milk heavy. It's often to the point where you can't taste the flavors and is impossible to taste the coffee or espresso. That's even with extra espresso added too. Frothed milk in particular is difficult to get when you order it in drinks like a cappuccino. Even when asking for a dry or extra dry cappuccino you'll still receive a heavy latte that obviously didn't have the milk frothed. I hope they address the inconsistencies and can return to making the exceptional coffees that made me a loyal customer for years. -- edit -- Updated wording as the original was too prickly. The problem of having lowered their quality is the main point and one I hope they can address.

Caramel Mocha Chiller

I love driving through here. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I usually get an iced coffee, but I recently tried a chiller and it was so yummy. It was a perfect afternoon pick me up. My preschooler highly recommends the cake pops.

Quite possibly one of the best little shops around. Decent pricing and excellent service with a smile! And the coffee isn't bad either!

This is one of my can't-miss spots for Middle Eastern food, which is probably my favorite type of…read morefood. I'm a vegetarian and there are just infinite options for me here. The vegetarian sampler platter is often my go-to, as an appetizer for sharing with someone or as an entrée for myself. Today I had it as an entrée while my friend had Sally's bowl, which also looked delicious. I very much enjoy the pomegranate green iced tea here and our server was happy to keep providing refills while my friend and I caught up over 2+ hours after not seeing each other for over a year, and never complained about needing to turn over the table. Granted, we were early in the day, starting at 11:30 and continuing through lunch hour, and there were always a couple of tables open, but it did get relatively busy during the lunch hour. This is located in a strip mall and has maybe a little less ambience than my usual location closest to home in Mount Lebanon; the thing I appreciate about that location is that it has outdoor tables set up during beautiful weather like today. Here, they don't seem to have that option on the strip mall outdoors so you are going to be eating inside or taking out. In any case, the food remains consistent and fabulous and the service is always great at every location I've tried. We didn't get dessert today as we were both very full and I was headed next to celebrate Easter with my family, but you can't miss with the absolutely decadent desserts here if you choose to get one.

You are also always treated with kindness and get excellent service. Alison D was so sweet and attentive. We went yesterday and I was happy to see so many new menu items. They all looked great and I had to try them. Their new pesto hummus was unbelievable. Best hummus ever! So creamy and delicious and even more flavorful with the pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts. The Chicken Pesto Pitza was so flavorful and delicious. Loved it! I always got the arayiss pitza but this is my new favorite. I want to try the Greek pitza sometime. It sounded really good. My husband always gets the super savor because it has a lot of different items and they're all delicious. We're obsessed with their cakes and actually come (although I am a little ashamed to admit it) regularly for them. The double fudge cake is my jam. It's so unbelievably moist and the fudge is out of this world. The carrot cake is always a favorite too. I'm also obsessed with their chocolate peanut butter brownies. My favorite combo. Whenever we want a delicious healthy meal, we always come to Aladdin's.

Love that this is a locally owned and operated shop! Pittsburgh's suburban neighborhoods are…read moredesperately begging for bagel shops. Out here in the North Hills, we've been stuck with chain options -- so when Three Brothers Bagels came to Shaler, it really helped fill a void. This place is a great destination for all kinds of bagels, bagel sandwiches, baked goods AND really, really good soup. My personal favorite so far has been the potato leek soup with bagel croutons. It was so good that I'd love to see it become a menu staple rather than just a special. As for the bagels themselves, the selection strikes a nice balance of savory and sweet, and the spreads and fillings follow suit. What I especially love is that the sandwiches go beyond just breakfast -- there are creative, lunch-style options that set them apart. And yes, their bagels are chewy and might give your jaw a workout after a whole sandwich, but honestly... isn't that just what a bagel is? Tip: Make sure you get there early or plan to order ahead this place is SO popular and regularly sells out. I'm also looking forward to seeing their food truck out and about. Highly recommend for anyone in the North Hills looking for quality bagels, sandwhiches, soups and some genuinely great baked goods!
