This is my favorite coffee place for fast, convenient and delicious coffee. Great staff!

Back again, tell a friend! (Sorry if this review is random at times hehe.) I can't stop raving about this place and I plan to try the other bean thru's in the area than just this location. I really need to try other parts of their menu but today I selected the emerald dream with oat milk (hot) and a matcha lavender latte (iced). I am such a newb here (it's my second time) that I need to study up their menu more and fully know what I want before I pull up. I am also scared of their tip jug by the window but I am not one that goes through the drive thru at places. The service is always amazing and they are so kind when I am so awkward or dead. I think today wins with the dead vibe as I barely got any sleep last night. I don't mind the wait but then I feel bad when I'm the one that is taking up the line compared to the other side. I wish I stopped by this place when they had their green tea chiller as it sounds so interesting but it's okay, I will find some type of drink that makes me want to come back (outside of ED). The espresso bean is such a chef 's kiss on each drink that I didn't even realize that it came in white chocolate. I plan on getting a bag if I remember the next time I'm there. It's like not too sweet, not bitter, and it has a good fresh taste. I am very picky when it comes to my chocolate covered beans but I really do enjoy that nice little surprise. Even the cute little flower on my hot drink made me feel like they do value you as a customer compared to other places. It's the little things that make a day better! Quick service and my chai latte was delicious!! Prices are reasonable to other coffee locations and I received a chocolate covered espresso bean with my drink! It can be difficult going in and out, so be careful what side you go on. I saw someone on the front side and they had to talk through their passenger side window instead of the driver seat. read more

BeanThru is one of the brightest parts of my day. Conveniently located on Rt 8 inbound, you can easily get off and on the highway to quickly be back on your way to work. The coffee here is fresh, strong, tastes great and is always the right temperature. It's seriously so addictive. The staff is super friendly and genuinely care about the customers. I've seen them come outside in the freezing cold to take orders so that the line keeps moving efficiently. The little touches like the chocolate covered espresso bean and handing out lollipops to kids in the back seat make this place a real gem. Thank you! read more

Bean thru is a tiny little drive through only coffee spot I have been to their other one too both a great for a well made coffee. They offer all kinds of sweet tasty coffees specialty flavors for the holidays nice big fresh muffins though they are sort of generic like maybe from a big box store the price is fair so I am happy to eat one nice touch a chocolate covered coffee bean on your drink yum service is always nice and friendly if your pup is with you they will give him a biscuit. at my last visit they had a cute poster of the visiting pups. coffee its self is fair priced the specialty drinks no more then that *$s place but much better. read more

I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffees. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee and on this morning it was the Bean Thurs turn. We had actually been to this location once before and had been to the sister location on Ohio River Blvd many times over. This location sits right off of Rt. 8 and the whole place looks like a tiny house. On the morning we visited they had lanes open on both sides and so at least two people were working there. Other than that there is not much to say about the place. I ended up ordering the blueberry pancake latte while my wife went with a mocha. The coffees came out relatively quickly with their usual chocolate covered espresso bean and we were on our way. Whenever I tasted my coffee I definitely got a lot of blueberry but not much else. Due to the name, I was expecting a big hit of maple or something else to make it the pancake portion of the name. Then the coffee itself was good and although it definitely played second fiddle to the syrup. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her mocha from here as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife enjoyed her mocha here and we have always had good experiences with the bean thru. read more

The best local drive-thru alternative to Starbucks (but it's WAY better than Starbucks)! The staff is SO friendly & helpful when asking questions about the menu. I got the green tea chai chiller & it was sooo good! Every drink comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean, love that subtle touch! The pricing is very comparable to other coffee shops. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in line either. I always look forward to stopping at BeanThru whenever I'm near one of their multiple locations! read more

Yum!!! My go to coffee place because who doesn't need a drive thru? They have a million options from black coffee to crazy concoctions. I usually get a black coffee and this time I added some English toffee flavor. So good. I also got my kids a double chocolate chip muffin which of course, I snuck a bite of. They are huuuge and so good. The people that work here are always so pleasant and happy to help when trying to decide as well. BeanThru used to make the best coffee around. Recently they have changed to making all their flavored coffees excessively milk heavy. It's often to the point where you can't taste the flavors and is impossible to taste the coffee or espresso. That's even with extra espresso added too. Frothed milk in particular is difficult to get when you order it in drinks like a cappuccino. Even when asking for a dry or extra dry cappuccino you'll still receive a heavy latte that obviously didn't have the milk frothed. I hope they address the inconsistencies and can return to making the exceptional coffees that made me a loyal customer for years. -- edit -- Updated wording as the original was too prickly. BeanThru is an outstanding little drive-thru coffee shop on Route 8. I stopped by on a rainy afternoon and ordered a delicious large cafe latte from a friendly and professional barista. Their espresso is great, and works perfectly with a latte. It's topped off by a chocolate-covered espresso bean, which is a nice touch. Their menu is surprisingly diverse for such a small shop, and has a myriad of hot and cold drinks, as well as various food options (baked goods, oatmeal, etc.). It's a rarity for me to stop by either of their locations since I'm seldom on Route 8 or Ohio River Blvd., but it's always a treat when I can. Hopefully, they'll expand to the city or other suburbs someday, as quality drive-thru coffee is somewhat of a rarity in Pittsburgh. read more

Ok, let's start with the basics. Coffee. The coffee is excellent. Just fantastic. I've never had a beverage here that I didn't enjoy, and I've had a fair amount of beverages here. Every drink you get comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean on the lid, which is delightful in a way that I cannot accurately express. The service is always friendly and patient, even when I'm waffling over if I should get a muffin or not. The answer to that question should always be YES. I don't know what's going on in this little magical hut, but they are producing the best damn muffins I've ever had. Maybe they've made a pact with The Baba Yaga to imbue each muffin with joy. Maybe they're teleporting them in from a better, more delicious timeline in which muffin technology has advanced several generations. I don't know, and I don't care. I just want more. I work on Route 8 about 10 minutes from BeanThru and my office mates and I are regulars. They're a little drive thru shack right off of 8 with a window on each side. Their menu is pretty big, offering a variety of hot and cold coffees and teas, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, biscotti, cookies, and more. I've had a regular ol coffee and their cappuccino and both are great! The cappuccino is always drinking temperature which is really nice. They rotate their biscotti flavors; I've had vanilla almond, salted caramel, peanut butter chocolate, and red velvet. Vanilla almond and peanut butter chocolate were both delicious. I wasn't a fan of the salted caramel, and thought the red velvet had too much icing. Their Good 4 U bars are divine though; they're homemade bars made of granola, chocolate chips, and jelly; great with coffee! Service is quick and friendly, everything is usually made as asked (other than a couple days ago when one of my coworkers asked for an iced coffee but got lukewarm coffee with no ice? She said the person serving looked new though so, forgiveness!), and they always top your order with a chocolate covered coffee bean which is just cute and fun. read more

Their prices are comparable to other premium beverage providers and you usually get through quickly even if other cars are waiting in line. Love BeanThru! I definitely get some PNW vibes coming here, since drive through coffee places are so common in Washington State. I would say I stop by about once a month. It would be more often, but BeanThru isn't along my usual commute. There are two windows, which in theory is nice, but I usually get stuck on the left side of the building, which is tough because all of the trade-offs happen through the passenger side window. Leaning over to pay, grab coffee, etc. is an inconvenience, but not so much so that I wouldn't come back. The baristas are always super nice and the coffee is tasty. There are a wide variety of choices and flavors to choose from. I believe I got a white chocolate marshmallow latte last time. I wavered between a 4 and a 5 for Bean Thur, but decided to bump to the five because their coffee is excellent. In Alaska, our largest cities have drive-thru coffee stands every few blocks. There are so many we wonder how anyone decides which one to go to (and how do they make any money?) We haven't seen these little huts many other places (there is a great one in Kahului, Hawaii on Maui island!) so when I saw that this one had popped up on Route 8, I'd been hoping to have a schedule that had me headed south some morning. Such schedule came, and I'm glad. We read the menu on the drive there, and realized we'd never had an iced Americano before. So that was our first selection, and it was outstanding. The coffee flavor was so rich and full and complete. We got it with a little bit of cream but no sweetener or flavoring. Of the iced coffees I've tried this summer, it had the best coffee flavor. If I drove Rt 8 a lot, I would find myself strongly tempted by making this drink a habit. We also got a latte. Now since there was a Yelp coupon for a free flavor or espresso shot, and we have been experimenting with different drinks recently, we decided to get a shot of coconut flavor. The reason I thought about 4 stars if because 5 stars means perfect and we didn't love this drink. In the end, I went with the 5th star because the whole reasons we didn't love the drink was our own fault: we didn't like the coconut flavor! Underneath it, however, we could tell that it was an excellent latte. If I ever got another here, I would get it plain. I personally think their coffee shines best plain, which is a huge compliment. read more

I randomly found this place on a Google Maps "coffee" search last week and my boyfriend and I have been back twice since! Their coffee is super tasty and they have a ton of different syrup flavors to choose from as well. So far I've tried a coconut mocha chiller, iced chai latte with Irish cream syrup, and an iced oat milk latte with almond flavoring. All 3 were excellent! And the staff is very friendly. Be sure to ask for a punch card, as we weren't offered one until our 3rd visit. This cute little shack has some of the best coffee I've ever had! This little island on the side of Rt. 8 has pretty much what you need for breakfast and brunch. Super fast service, just pull up on either side of the store and roll down your window. Fresh coffee; regular and dark, ready with creamers, sugar, sweetners and stevia. They even put a chocolate covered espresso bean on each coffee lid. How sweet is that? Delicious home-made bars that are out of this world! Breakfast sandwiches, cold made-to-order drinks, the list goes on and on. I live near by and I've seen this coffee shop switch owners but Bean Through finally got it. One thing I think would help get more customers is a coffee shaped neon sign so the drivers can see them before they drive past it. Rt. 8 is not a road to stop all of a sudden. read more
