Cream puff
Jason F.

I stopped by here this past Sunday morning with my wife. We were out for our morning coffee whenever we happened to pass Brother Toms Bakery and ultimately decided to stop. Before we headed in I took a look on Yelp and had a hard time deciding whether it was a bakery or restaurant. Even so we headed inside where I found out that it was both. They had a couple of seating areas with numerous tables that were surrounded with plexiglass where they had menus and served hot food. Then they had an area which had a display case with baked goods in it, a chest freezer with pierogies and two other display coolers, one with soup and the other with pre made lunches like brat and sauerkraut. On this day my wife and I ended up buying a cream puff, a carrot cake cupcake, a cinnamon roll and then a quart of wedding soup. I ended up eating the creme puff while driving home. While that shouldn't have been a problem, the amount of powdered sugar on it meant that both my face and clothes were dusted with it. The good news was that the cream puff itself was quite good. Even though it was cold from being in the display case, it was easy to tell that the pate choux was cooked perfectly as it was light with the edges having a nice crispy crunch to them. Then the cream filling was flavorful as well and was perfect inside of the shell. After I got home I was able to try the cupcake. As far as bakery cupcakes go, it was on the smaller side, but I am not complaining about that as I loved the $1.50 price tag and actually would prefer more to be this size and price. The cake part of it was dense and moist as expected from a carrot cake while the cream cheese frosting added a nice zing and flavor to it. Overall it was a satisfying cupcake with a just right portion size. While the cinnamon roll was for my wife, I was able to try a small piece of it and was satisfied with both the cinnamon roll and the frosting on top. Finally the wedding soup was consumed by my in laws, it's intended recipient, and they seemed to enjoy it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again. While the bakery section itself was somewhat small here, what we had was cool. My wife and I also appreciated the pre made food offerings here and thought that their restaurant menu looked promising as well.

Friendly staff and tons of baked good options! I had the cinnamon roll, I didn't love it but it was just average. Lots of seating inside. Quick service inside.

One selection of many.

My Root juice drink was tasty; made me feel healthy after a week of dining out indiscriminately. The server recommended the Kazaam (shakshuka) dish, and it was solid! I eat a lot of this and it didn't disappoint! The toast was particularly good. Loved the fried shallots for a little crunch, too, otherwise it's a pretty slop-heavy meal, texture-wise.

Angela was professional and attentive, she absolutely did an amazing job! Kindness goes a long way and she mastered that! The food was just as delightful. I enjoyed the Turmeric Chicken Salad - the moist chicken, sweet raisins, and strong taste of turmeric were shockingly well balanced in flavor. It was great. The French Toast was another interesting combination. The strawberry jam with syrup made this the perfect sweet treat. Lastly, my husband left no crumbs with his Patty Melt. He ate it just as quickly as it came! While I wish the interior design had been given more thought--such as displaying pictures, murals, and nicely arranged flowers on the tables to enhance the experience--the food more than made up for what the interior lacked. We both had a wonderful experience here and would highly recommend it to others.

We tried: Cereal Thriller Quilted Pig OG Happy Go Lucky Smashed Browns (get the sweet & spicy sauces on the side & mix them together.) ya welcome! Thank me later! ) What really made the experience even better than just having great waffles, was the people. General Manager Sharon and Assistant Manager Kelsey were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to help. The owner Len was EXTREMELY responsive to my email & text inquiries (which honestly is rare these days.) As a small business owner myself, I notice and appreciate that kind of effort immediately!! This place is absolutely underrated. Between the amazing staff, the aesthetic Instagram/TikTok worthy storefront, and food & drinks that are ACTUALLY delicious (because sometimes places only nail one or the other ), they've got the full package! Plenty of seating inside & out. clean bathrooms, self-service kiosks but they also have a register if you are lazy like me. Parking can be a little challenging, but there are several nearby garages that make it manageable. 10/10 experience. So grateful we got the chance to try smashed waffles. I ordered a coffee, a savory waffle, and a sweet waffle, and everything was delicious. I especially loved the glaze on the cereal killer waffle and the "secret sauce" served with their savory waffles. The cinnamon roll coffee I ordered was also fantastic and a very smooth and sweet drink. Everything was fantastic, and the owner was extremely kind and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Thankfully we didn't have to wait for a table for 3 (the folks in front of us in line most have had a bigger table and were given a wait time). I really enjoyed the vibe here as well as the food. I didn't want biscuits or an Egg Sandwich, so I chose this cafe because it had the most menu options to choose from. Also, the location was close enough to our hotel, without driving too far, which was perfect. Although the space is small, this cafe has a lot of charm. It was vibrant and full of energy, and the staff was attentive, ensuring our visit was comfortable and orderly. I'm so happy that my husband & I visited around 9am, because we were seated right away. We came hungry, so we quickly placed our orders, and the food arrived shortly after. The food was excellent. We both ordered the Spicy Chicken Omelette and it was very good. The chicken was flavorful and cooked well. It wasn't spicy at all. Even the breakfast potatoes were crispy and lightly seasoned. And our beverage, two Peach Palmers, was lightly sweetened and refreshing. This cafe is a good place to visit if you're in the area. Plenty of street parking, quick and efficient service, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend it.

We stopped by this location of Pamela's and instantly, I felt like I was transported into a retro 50s/60s diner. The multi-colored walls are decorated heavily with old-school board games. There's a veil of grease in the air that screamed the classic diner experience. SAUSAGE & CHEESE OMELETTE + Lyonnaise potatoes (side) + whole wheat bread (toast) The sausage & cheese (we asked for Swiss instead of American) omelette itself wasn't anything worth raving about as it was pretty typical. However, the Lyonnaise potatoes were phenomenal. It's that in between "hash and mash" texture, and it was seasoned incredibly well. The potatoes were definitely the highlight here, and the omelette was good protein, I guess. Definitely forgot about the whole wheat bread. BLUEBERRY HOTCAKES Soft, crepe-like wrap (a bit thicker than crepe but thiner than pancake) wrapped around blueberries and whipped cream. This was not too sweet and quire savory. They're known for their hotcakes at Pamela's and I can see why. I don't remember the individual pricing for each, but both were under $25 total. Definitely great tasting food for a phenomenal price. I highly recommend!
