    everything bagel with cream cheese

I was running errands when I was bagels and had to stop to try them. I got the everything bagel with cream cheese and blueberry jam. I was wondering why the blueberry jam was on the side and I had to spread it but I am assuming it's because it is already pre-proportioned. I didn't kind and the bagels were good. I'm glad I stopped by and super happy that the staff was friendly and answered any questions I had. This is a to go ordering places so everything happens at a window.

Chocolate hazelnut croissants are amazing! This morning (and once before) I had the serendipitous timing of arriving when these had just been made. Light, flaky pastry topped with hazelnuts and filled with chocolate. Heaven. Grab a napkin! My daughter and I have enjoyed the iced maple lattes. It might be seasonal; I'm not sure. Friendly staff. As of Sept 2022, it's still a walk up to the outside and order situation. Not open inside yet. Beans & Bagels seems to be a popular neighborhood coffee shop which operates its business model in accordance with their values of sustainability, which is admirable. If you order an iced drink, save the cup and bring it back for next time!

After multiple visits and orders, the coffee just doesn't improve. On my most recent and final visit I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and it was terrible. Served in a small paper cup for almost $6 the coffee was hot, bitter and flavorless. Poured the coffee out but recycled the cup for germinating seeds so at least I got that.

There are a number of independent coffee shops In Lincoln Squire. This is a good one, but not a great one. First the negatives. One, their coffee is so just so. When my wife and I recently came here, and she ordered a small latte and I ordered a cold brew My cold brew was good and had a strong caffeine content. However, its hard to mess up cold brew. I tried my wife's latte, but it wasn't good. It was a bit tasteless. Two, the the food we tried was good, but with room for improvement. My wife got a donut that was from Do-rite Donuts. Kudos to them for stocking a good local donut brand, but obviously you can't give them credit on how good the donut was. I got one their house made croissants, the Jalapeño cream cheese croissant. The croissant itself was good, but I wish it had more jalapeño flavor and was spicer. Third, they expensive. For one (very) small latte, a cold brew, a donut and croissant the total was just under $20.00. Now the positives. One, I enjoyed my cold brew and it had a lot of caffeine. Iced coffee and cold brew are my favorite morning drinks, and they make a good one. Two. I like their environmental commitment. My cold crew was served in a reusable aluminum cup, and if you bring the cup back (or your own cup) they will offer you $.50 off your drink. Also the straw was biodegradable, reusable and sturdy. Three, I love the atmosphere. It's on a corner of a prototypical Lincoln Square tree lined street. Also, along the sidewalk outside the coffee shop there were many wooden benches, some even built around some lovely trees. I enjoyed sitting on them eating my croissant and drinking my cold brew. In sum, this a good coffee shop, not a great one. I wouldn't make this your first or only destination for coffee, but just one of them.

In moving to the neighborhood, I was excited to hear that there was a local coffee spot. It is a walk up spot and close to the Brown line. Seems to be quite popular given the regular line of people. I've tried it twice now, both times ordering a latte. Each time I have been greatly disappointed. The taste is awful. Others for whom I've made try it agree. The donuts and other to-go food items look good however.

    "Oat milk latte" ?!?!?!

Overpriced & not worth the price. Service was not great. Didn't like the atmosphere. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Good bagels, amazing croissants. My favorite thing here is the everything croissant. Has a pillowy herby cheese filling.

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

There's currently no reliable way to place a to-go order ahead of time: their phone number isn't listed, the website advertises online ordering but it never seems to work, and the delivery apps are hit or miss at best. I'd honestly order from here a lot more often if I could easily place an order while out walking my dogs and pick it up later. Some items, like the breakfast wraps, take a bit to prepare, so without advance ordering I often end up going somewhere more convenient instead.

First off, their fresh,…read morehomemade sourdough english muffins are out of this world I love to buy a pack of 6 ($12) to bring home and make avocado toast with a soft scrambled egg on top. (They freeze great too if you want to savor them). I haven't tried their breakfast sandwich, because I'm not a big pork sausage person-- would love if they had more variations of a breakfast sandwich! You can also order a toasted english muffin that comes with fresh butter and a homemade jam.. it's so simple but addicting. I have had their Lox English Muffin a couple of times, and if you love Lox, it's GREAT. Really good balance of cream cheese/veggie/lox ratio.. though Lox is always so overpowering so it's most of what you're going to taste. If you are a quiche person, PLEASE try theirs. The creativity in their rotating flavors, and their perfect crust, are a must-try. It's soooo well done. Every pastry I've tried has been spectacular, from their almond blackberry croissant to the pistachio escargot, to their donuts.. I don't think you can go wrong. Their cinnamon roll is next on my list.. but I need to try it when I'm with 2-3 other people because it is GINORMOUS. I don't trust that I wouldn't eat the whole thing by myself. Their coffee is good, but there's nothing special to me about it! I come here for their fresh pastries and eats. They have free wifi and it's fairly quiet, so a good place to knock out some work or have a good conversation with a friend. It's neat, clean, and bright with a good amount of seating. This place is right next to my therapy office, so I frequent it a couple of times a month, and I have always felt welcomed and cared for by their employees. If you are eating there, they will go the extra mile to bring your food to your table and make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend!!

Unfortunately, the food quality has gotten worse with every visit. I usually order the lox bagel, but it is definitely not worth $15. It doesn't taste very good, comes with only one slice of smoked salmon, and has too much onion. The coffee is okay. On my last visit, I ordered the avocado toast. It looked far from appetizing. It was served as two slices of toast with cubed avocado and a sauce on top that ruined the taste. It seems like the cooks are not putting much effort into preparing the food. On top of that, every time I have eaten there, the tables have been very sticky. I would rather spend my money at places that provide better food and a better dining experience.
