It was excellent coffee. Service was excellent. It was very nice all around. Great place start a day while in North Vancouver.

This is really a great location for any cafe. Right across from the parking lot, it catches your eye before even entering the Quay. This Bean has all the usual cafe sweets on offer, but they are all wrapped in plastic, which screams "Fresher yesterday!" Just once they had a Stella dark chocolate bar with chillies, it was really expensive but killer-good but that was temporary. The outdoor patio is nice but lacks the luster of the water views available in the back of the Quay. Unfortunately, the coffee also lacks luster. My husband liked the coffee he ordered (came back the next day) but mine didn't taste good. He got a non-fat white mocha and I got a decaf sugar-free caramel almond milk latte (my normal drink at other cafes). It's busy enough so it's probably just my personal taste. read more

Really enjoyed my wrap for breakfast but I didn't love my coffee. It tasted a little burnt, probably just brewed a few degrees too high. The older guy working there was very friendly and made me feel as welcome as any regular. Either way I am happy to support a more local coffee place. read more

In a sea of Starbucks options, Bean Around the World was a welcome change. I had coffee there two days in a row and it was amazing both times. Brewed with care by a gentleman who clearly knows the difference between a macchiato and a misto (insert whichever high fallutin' coffee words you like into those slots). I really felt like my coffee was crafted rather than simply 'made'. The flavour reflected that care - nice and rich, roasty, and full of yummy (see how I used my fancy words just there?). They have almond milk, which is a real treat for me because lactose is not my friend but I am not a big lover of soy. And some of their baked offerings are gluten-free, which, all on its own, would keep me coming back. My goodness! I just realized this was my 200th review! Go me! read more

I work at the Quay and come here all time. Their coffee is great but their service is terrible. Especially the short girl work at the counter, she is no friendly whatsoever, never smile to the guest and with her coworker (as in my observation). When we stayed at the Pinnacle Hotel on the Pier, Bean Around the World Cafe was where we started our mornings for 6 days. The baristas here vary day to day. The first day, my boyfriend asked for a dirty chai but the cashier was confused because she didn't think a shot of espresso in a chai latte was a thing. The barista on the other hand knew instantly what he was talking about. The matcha latte here is good stuff! I got my boyfriend hooked on it, and that's all he ever ordered during the rest of our stay. Their prices are also cheaper than Starbucks. read more

I just ordered the iced coffee and asked for some foam on top. It was great and refreshing on a hot day. The espresso is strong and makes the drink even yummier. Atmosphere inside the cafe is more comfortable than the patio and yes, the patio view is nothing compared to the back of the Quay. It's all about location isn't it! A Canadian coffee chain that is located part of Lonsdale Quay Market. They have locations throughout Canada and their roastery is located within North Vancouver not too far from this location. I wanted to try something other than Starbucks that was located on the other side of Lonsdale Quay Market. The space was great. It was refreshing to see a coffee spot that does not look like Starbucks. Great coffee though is something that is not hard to make but easy to screw up. This was probably one of the worse cups of coffee I have ever had. Bad enough I would have asked for something else but I did not have the time to wait for another cup of something else. It could have been bad because of many factors (water, beans, time). Added to that, I waited a long time for just drip coffee and there was only one person in front of me asking for an espresso drink. The Barista acknowledged the wait but not sure why it took so long. Also when I was handed my change, it was smeared with food. Not really a pleasant visit for the first time going to Bean Around the World Coffees. Based solely on a shot in the dark, unsweetened almond milk matcha and a gluten-free zucchini chocolate muffin, this outpost served everything up proper. The Husband was growling, having had no caffeine injection and the clock was approaching the 11am hour. He literally stood like a glowering bull mastiff (albeit a small one) by the counter until he got his cup. The metamorphosis to human being happened after two sips. My wife and I came to Vancouver for our honeymoon, and this was absolutely one of the highlights. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and there's nothing quite like sitting outside here first thing in the morning and looking over to Vancouver. The coffee was wonderful and the presentation was just beautiful. As for atmosphere, you just don't get much better. Rain or shine, the coffeehouse was lively but not loud. All patrons seemed at home and to be enjoying their time here. read more
