Service outside of the lady at the jewelry counter was terrible. The store was an absolute mess needing massive recovery and the carpets looked like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. Not even vacuuming them. Belk is such a great company and the need to invest more payroll and attention to cleanliness and service at this store. I really appreciate the customer service from the lady in jewelry she was so nice and very helpful. The store environment was dreadfully hot, understaffed and poorly managed.

Towne Mall has been a staple in Etown for many years. It looks like it is getting some revamping…read more The stores are set up kinda weird and only a limited number of them were open. I'm not a fan of this set up but, hopefully once the revamping is done, it will be a much better mall. I did go into a few of the stores, American Eagle and Bath and Body Works were about the same size and space but, Victorias Secret was very small compared to the other ones I've been to. I don't go to Etown much but, I do hope this place looks great and will thrive again once the revamping is complete.

Meh...this store has terminally dysfunctional checkout…read more The approximate population of Calcutta is usually "working" on the floor or behind the counter, but only one or two checkout stations are open...and....they......take......their.................................time. Don't know how that works, because it's not like your purchases wind up folded properly or anything...They won't even let you have the hanger on a 200$ suit jacket. Regardless: I've never gotten out of here with less than a ten minute wait, immaterial of how many people are in line, regardless of time of day or day of the week, or how many people are working. I've also never witnessed them open another register in response to the line of customers waiting to check out (sometimes enough to extend beyond the checkout area). I've left, probably 40% of the time, when I otherwise would have made a purchase, rather than wait, because it's so mad that it's going to take 30 minutes to check out. Decreases sales and increases costs, because staff have to re-stock unpurchased items. And heaven forfend you need to speak to someone at the Jewelry counter. Because then, better plan on at least a half hour (more, if you're returning). Ugh. Just go to Louisville...

I also noticed that the salon was being cleaned with extreme care. The hair rollers got cleaned one by one. Everything was super nice and smelled clean. Definitely the employees take care of the Salon and their equipment. No fear to catch anything there. I 100% am satisfied and will recommend this location and Melba Ellis. I've been to some where the isles were empty and these shells were completely stocked.

Once you get past the helter-skelter parking situation and actually are inside, you still encounter some frustration because of the narrow aisles and large shopping baskets. Usually, people are cordial and considerate, which really helps to diffuse any irritation. However, I cannot understand why every Sam's in every state that I've visited has a headache-provoking design of their parking lot. Since there are other stores that offer discount, bulk sales, I question (and will re-evaluate my membership here.
