Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Beach Road. Last year we celebrated at State Road, and they had a little gift for us and recognized the event. I informed Beach Road when I made the reservation, but they didn't acknowledge it at all. So that was the disappointing part. However, the food was great and our server, Sam C. was wonderful. She really made it fun and special. My husband had the lamb meatballs and loved them. (I don't like lamb.) I tried the shrimp tempura appetizer, and it was delicious! 6 delicious shrimp and some tempura green beans too. Highly recommend. Fun drinks too. My grilled pineapple and ginger infused tequila cocktail was delicious. My husband loved his bourbon amaro cocktail too. We both commented that the flavors were distinct and layered, and they weren't too sweet. My main course bouillabaisse was delicious, with the largest aioli toast! Flavor was spot on. It's difficult to find a mixed shellfish dish on Martha's Vineyard, that isn't a pasta. My husband loved his lobster pasta, with lots of lobster. We shared the delicious chocolate mousse cake with fresh berries. Again, not too sweet! The decor is very nice, with a beautiful view of the pond, if it is light out. One thing, pillows for the banquet seats would be helpful. Both I, and the woman in the next seat over, were trying to stuff our coats behind us to make the seating more comfortable.

    Lamb Chops

To die for food. I started with the lamb chops and the cocktail 'love+ happiness'. I would come back just for the lamb chops. I also had a dirty martini, which was perfection and the New York Strip. This is the best restaurant on the vineyard in my opinion (I've tried them all), I will be back. My bartender Adrienne was amazing and had wonderful service!

During our trip to Martha's Vineyard last fall, we visited Beach Road Restaurant. We arrived shortly before they opened for dinner, and there were more than a handful of people waiting outside. We didn't make a reservation, but we were able to get counter seats before it filled up. We started our dinner with some cocktails. I ordered Sangria and my hubby ordered Gentleman's Agreement. Sangria didn't look like Sangria, it had no fruit, and not fruity at all, and not sweet. Gentleman's Agreement was inventive and creative. I liked it much more than the Sangria. For appetizer, we ordered Brioche Bread with Chive Butter. It was impressive just to look at, beautifully baked to golden color, with soft, fluffy, cloud-like inside. The chive butter was great too. I totally understand the popularity of it. After just one bite, you will also fall in love with this loaf... Oysters, half dozen comes in an order, three different kinds. The oysters were fresh, not fishy, and delicious! For main, I chose Lobster Linguini. First few bites were sinful and delightful, but then it became a bit too salty for me. The flavor of the dish was great though, if it were just slightly less salty, it would have been perfect. My hubby chose Halibut, it was so good! Perfectly crunchy on top, with flaky and moist fillet, delicious! We had a lovely dinner there, with tasty drinks and food. I definitely recommend the Brioche, it is to die for!

As our stay in Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard was coming to an end, decided to travel to Vineyard Haven for a meal. Had tried take-out from State Road (sister restaurant) during the pandemic) and thought Beach Road should be a good choice. The setting was welcoming with a beautiful view of Lagoon Pond. Four of us shared a Summer Salad, Pan con Tomate and Lamb Meatballs complimented by cocktails. The salad consisting of local greens, cukes, strawberries, feta and sunflower seeds with a champagne vinaigrette tasted as if the ingredients had just been picked up from a garden. The sourdough toast and roasted tomatoes were enhanced with garlic confit, white anchovies and chives. The lamb meatballs had fregola and a harissa yogurt. As I write this review I still can not decide which of the appetizers was the best Two people had the Artic Char, and we also had the Lobster Pasta and Bouillabaisse. The main dishes were superb and my Bouillabaisse was extraordinary. The Butterscotch whiskey pudding and Crostata with berries were a delicious way to end a superb meal. Taryn deserves our compliments as well, since she delivered outstanding service which complemented the kitchen staff.

Beach Road is a must visit restaurant on Marta's Vineyard! The restaurant has a great ambiance and the food is amazing! We ordered the oysters, shrimp tempura, crab roll and lobster ravioli. It was delicious!

This is a pretty restaurant with a great view. We went for $1 oysters and drinks. One big disappointment: oyster special is 5-6 pm. We arrived at 5:15. All bar seats were already occupied by oyster fans. They save all the regular tables for dinner eaters, though most of those tables were still empty at 6. We waited in the entry way, and finally got bar seats at 5:50, and placed our oyster order. We had an excellent and chipper bartender, with a cool short haircut and many tattoos. She got us happy again. The oysters were from a farm in MV. I have been spoiled by good Wellfleet oysters on Cape, and these MV ones were not as good. But good enough! We tried two drinks from their seasonal cocktail menu plus one traditional martini with Hendrix gin. Their devised recipes too sweet. The traditional good, but no olives??? Regular menu looks good. Moral of story: get there before 5 for $1 oysters. Enjoy the lovely view. I liked how they show off their bread when you enter.

Our server made several mistakes throughout the evening and had an unexpectedly aggressive attitude. He forgot my sister's wine twice, brought out an incorrect order, and mishandled my mom's dessert request. There was also confusion around the dessert order. My mom wanted one scoop of gelato and asked about the available flavors. The server was very unclear, using "sorbet" and "gelato" interchangeably throughout the conversation. In the end, she ordered one scoop of "lemon gelato," as he described it, which should have been $3. So we were surprised when the bill came and showed a $14 charge for lemon sorbet--which wasn't even listed on the menu. When we pointed this out, the server responded in a pretty surly manner, though the charge was eventually corrected. After we paid, he brought over a scoop of vanilla gelato and said it was "on him," but the delivery felt sarcastic and he placed it on the table quite aggressively. By that point, we were already full and honestly just ready to leave. Overall, the food and atmosphere were great, but the poor service really put a damper on the evening and left us ending the night on a negative note. Since we were a party of six, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill, which was unfortunate given the level of service we received.

Something we didn't know. Bread was worth it, would have liked more transparency there. Drinks are great. I forgot the name of the cocktail I ordered but shoutout the bartender. This time we went with friends, which meant I got to sample a little bit of everything -- the short ribs, wok-fried lobster, and a massive slice of carrot cake that took me two days to finish at home. We also enjoy getting dressed up to come here since they've got the white tablecloths my wife looks for when she's sipping her drink -- so don't show up straight from the beach in flip-flops and a tee. The vibe is always relaxed but elevated, the food and drinks are on point, and the service never misses. That's why we keep coming back.

Our waiter, Nash, was a standout and really facilitated a smooth dining experience. We ordered a few desserts to share but the clear winner was the carrot cake which was a knock out.
